when I switched to a smaller engine guard I left the fairing mounts off and haven't had any issues with it over the last two years. Great video!
Has the fairing gotten a little loose or any rattling?

Thanks for the video. It really helped with the install of my chopped engine guard. Wish I would have known to pop the speaker grills out from the inside edge first. I broke off one of the tabs. One and only casualty..

I installed the chopped engine guard and Harleys version of the mx floor boards as well on my 18 RG last winter, went with the Ciro 360° hi-way pegs because I didn't want any peg hanging off the engine guard, I already had the floorboard extenders installed just bought a extended heel shifter and lowered it down so it clears the back of the floorboard, not giving up my heel shifter 😂 interested to see what cam you're doing, I went all fuel Moto 2 winter's ago with the woods 22 cam if I remember right, really woke up a already strong motor, glad you're having fun doing the upgrades, I know I did and I get alot of compliments on it.
@540MOTO Not sure if anyone else makes anything similar, they are very pricey especially if you buy the Ciro footpegs that'll add $100 bucks, I'm not gonna say there bad or anything but if I had to do it again I probably wouldn't, I'm not sure if you can buy em and test drive em and return them if you don't like em, I read some reviews and the guys seemed to like em ? For me with my extended floorboards they stick out pretty far and I don't find myself using the whole peg I kinda rest my foot where the peg mounts to the arm, there is quite a bit of adjustment on them tho, hopefully this helps, good luck.

I like the engine guard, I am actually thinking of going with the mustache guard. Not a fan of the floorboards but it does look on the bike.
New floorboards match the wheels better than stock ones
2021 RGS comes with a chopped bar and I hate it because I can't run pods so I want to remove my mustache and put on a normal bar. And 2021 RG stopped coming with heel toe so I had to add heel toe and you're doing all the opposite! That's 1 reason I love HD, we can all do our own thing.

I am going with a mustache bar , do I need to put a support bar on ? if so do know anyone selling just the support bar?
The manufacturer of the bar you install should provide you with a fairing support bar too. I wouldn't run it if you don't have a fairing support bar. And I don't think they are sold separately.

Prefer flat rubber texture boards, think thay perform well, I run soft lowers mostly all the time so stock bars work fine.
Ima keep my stock boards,doesn't make me cry when I scuff them in the twisties like a $300 set would.
After a few years do you still like the floor boards and did it damage the primary?
Yes I like them, and no it didn't damage the primary.

I just ordered one of these chopped guards for my 15 and realized it didnt come with a fairing support..I guess I need to order more shit hahah.

Love the floorboards, just wish they came with wear plates like the new 80Grit collection from Harley does.
Also getting a chopped engine guard, but would also like highway pegs. Kinda torn on how they will look on a chopped engine guard.
I installed the Harley dealership 360's and they are perfect for my needs, but it took about 10 ride to finally get them adjusted for me.
Those floorboards are sick but are they too grippy? I’m a heel shifter, will the boards hold on to your feet too much, making shifting not as smooth? I really like the look though.
They are VERY grippy. I just road 100 miles with them today, I love them but if you're a heel shifter then you might not like them because they are very grippy.
If you ever want to know an HD color stick your camera in selfie mode under the rear fender and snap a photo there's a color sheet under there nobody knows about.
Nice install video. However, without the lower spoiler kit the chopped crash bar looks like a giant bent paper clip. I have the same ride but the spoiler is definitely going on to hide the paper clip look. Just my 2cts.

I think the is rio red looks like my 2011 cvo RG ultra I had I would think that when you went to put your foot down it your sole might catch on the studs or do they just wondering?

Jerry Thames I would think using a heat gun to soften the adhesive on emblems would help you peel them off easier. Also use dental floss or a light fishing line to get behind emblems.
Now that you did all that, you should consider installing the fairing spoiler.

Are they lighter then stock? When i do a mod i like if it shaves a little weight. They look kinda big but on the bike they look pretty good. I do really like that seat though.

I installed the same floorboards on my Road Glide I absolutely love them but I had to install spacers that I made because the boards were too loose those wave washers did absolutely nothing did you experience that?
No, mine aren't loose at all. If you're talking about the folding part, yes, they are suppose to fold up..

Looks great, but I’m not a fan of spikes on my floorboards. That engine guard looks much better but how much adjustability would you have with a set of highway pegs? Any room left to add LED driving lights?

What I worry about with that style of floorboard is vibration. Without any rubber on there is it bad? Also - love the chopped guard - wouldn't be able to put a soft lower on it in the cold, though.
Surprisingly, you don't feel any vibration..

Are the engine guards Made in U. S. A. ? I’m not buying any more parts for my Harley’s that are made in China. Took a pair of grips back to the stealership last week because it said MADE IN CHINA right next to the “Genuine Harley-Davidson” sticker. If those guards are made over there, I’d rather pay a local welder to make me some and have them black-chrome plated here in our country. Just me.
