Jennifer got pissed when interviewer said that it’s a romantic comedy and light movie😁 and explanation didn’t help🙈
Of course she got pissed. 90% of her career are rom-coms. I'm curious why did she choose this path? She refused the roles in Unfaithful- erotic thriller, Diana Lane replaced her and got a Golden Globe for that role. She missed the role in Green Mile with Tom Hanks, cause she was offered the role. Selena and Out of Sight, we can safely say these were kinda serious roles comparing to her further filmography. And she was back then considered as a serious actress. But then, when she started music career, she decided to do mainly rom-coms. Maybe because of her musical career she didn't have enough time to focus on her movie career, so she had been choosing less demanding roles? I mean, she was also the first choice to play in musical drama "The Star is Born" with Will Smith but they couldn't get their schedules right so Gaga and Cooper replaced them. She was a strong candidate for the role of Lara Croft in 2001's Tomb Raider. She refused the role in "The Hitch" with Will Smith to appear in "The Monster in Law". She refused the role of "Jerry Mcguire" next to Tom Cruise. She was about to play in amother biography movie "The Godmother" to play Griselda Blaco, the most famous and dangerous drug dealer in 70's-80's, who was shot and died in 2012. But no...she has chosen instead to play in another rom-com "Shotgun Wedding". Jennifer, wtf are you doing with your acting career?
@@Sandrex-po8sf she will play Griselda in the Godmother for sure. As she is the producer of it she will make it happen, probably now she has to act in another movie with Armie Hammer cuz this one’s schedule can’t be pushed by her
@@monikazigelyte431 oh, I hope so. It would be very good role for her. I think even more badass than Hustlers. But she didn't talk about it for a very long time and suddendly this "Shotgun Wedding" announcement came out of nowhere xd Her career, her choices. I like her rom-coms though.
@@Sandrex-po8sf Can't understand why she refused some of those great roles, but then again, that's the down side of being a "triple threat" like she is, she has too many things, going on at one time and something has to suffer. So in this case, it is her acting career, that winds up taking a major hit. Or maybe she just doesn't know how to make good choices , when it comes to great films, which sounds weird, because she is a smart businesswoman and great actress. At least , I thought she was.
Shotgun Wedding is apparently an action movie with some comedy thrown in. The Griselda movie, like the other commenter said, was optioned by her production company, and they've got a screenplay writer adapting it now... but she's always said she did it like that, because it's a role she wants to play, and this is a way of ensuring that. Plus Hollywood can't sort of overrule her decision, she's the boss, apple sauce :-D She's always said about rom-coms, that it's her favorite genre, because it's about love, and that growing up, and she never saw herself in any of the big rom-coms, being Latina. Also, rom-coms were HUGELY popular when she did her rom-com triple crown (Made in Manhattan, Wedding Planner, and Monster In Law < and you never turn down a chance to star in a film with Jane Fonda!) She's had her movie ups and downs, but her instincts are usually good, at least when the movie is still on paper. An Unfinished Life with Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman was an amazing movie to me, at least. The studio pulled a lot of support, because it came right on the heels of the horrible movie Gigli that Ben Affleck talked her into. Anyways, just some thoughts. Most bigtime actors have stories about passing on what ended up being really big hits, but you never know exactly why a movies a hit. Jerry McGuire was what it was, at least in part, because of Renee Zellweger's ability to play shy/naive. I have a hard time thinking of JLo in that role. She's "bigger than life" at her best, like in Selena or Hustlers or the Cell (another excellent but underrated movie).
I really recommend An Unfinished Life, and/or the Cell if you get the chance to see it. 8-D
