      Thomas Semenium The r8 v10 plus has over 600hp and you can drive it every day. Daily drivers are meant to be comfy not slow.

    • @f0rg0rr
      @f0rg0rr Před 7 lety +6

      KGK Yes you can daily drive an R8 but it’s not bloody labeled as a daily driver, it’s a supercar. Also “it doesn’t need to be slow”, mate the TTRS does 0-60 in 3.8 seconds, what more do you want?

    • @kgk8010
      @kgk8010 Před 7 lety

      No i know 3.8 sec is ridiculously fast im just saying a car being the over the X amount hp doesent make it a bad daily. A jaguar f type is a good daily because its comfortable, fast, sounds great and has a big trunk. Even though the R version is 550hp its still a good daily.

    • @T.A.C.S.94
      @T.A.C.S.94 Před 7 lety +3

      KGK a daily should be easy to drive, reliable, easy to live with. Tuning an extra 100 bhp out of at 2.5litre engine is going to compromise it’s drive-ability and its reliability. That all

    • @havenblood
      @havenblood Před 7 lety

      Callum Nickless that's pretty dope, I suppose it'll be slightly slower due to body weight and shape etc but at the same time at least it could be the more useful version of an RS5!

  • @SgtHail
    @SgtHail Před 7 lety +23

    Aren't you somewhat concerned that buying a TT-RS might make the 360 feel a little slow? If I were in your shoes I'd like something practical, comfortable and efficient as a daily so that each drive in the 360 feels that much more special.

    • @nicholaszivich7589
      @nicholaszivich7589 Před 7 lety

      SgtHail thats a very good point. i think it would make the 360 feel like its lacking alittle bit, and it would feel aged inside. it would still be a sense of occasion but, not like how much it should be and it would only be because the badge and the manual transmission. i also think you should get something practical and efficient. it doesnt have to be completely boring just something that wont make the ferrari seem any less in your eyes. like your daily is faster than your supercar.

    Short answer: TT RS.Long answer: Hello from across the pond, I'm the original owner of a 2008 RS4 Sedan (Saloon to you guys). I put about 60k miles on it before finally deciding (Dec 2015) to install the APR TVS1740 Stage III Supercharger; as well as clutch, suspension & brake upgrades. Best decision ever! I say that to say this... If you are the type of buyer that is planning to buy and be happy for the next 10 years, the TT RS is the best choice. It's lighter and the guys at APR have more years of experience with the TT RS than the RS3. They made products to turn the 2nd Gen TT RS into a supercar killer and they already have 3rd Gen products available! Buy the TT RS and after the little beast gets boring, you'll have quality APR upgrades to completely change your mini R8 into an R8 killer. As fast as it is today, it won't be in 4 years, less if it's your daily driver.

    The TT RS is such an underappreciated car :(, This is THE BEST, it's not savage like an M2, but it is such a nice and dynamic car while still being relaxing, I love it 🥰 (Oh and that 5 Cilinder sounds like all heaven, it's basically an affordable V10!)

  • @zTheBigFishz

    TT RS. Here in the States they are rare and seriously, stonking fast. My car's favorite lunch? An M4 is quite tasty. A Canadian company is doing beta testing with a Stage 1/flash only tune that is running the quarter in about 10.9 @ 125mph. They are easily 11 second cars from the factory. That is serious business right there....and as you know they can do more than just do the straight line thing. A baby R8 that is astonishingly easy to drive and drive fast.

    If you are going for a daily, i think Audi RS3 is best fit for the project. It fits 4 adults, fits bags, good engine (and with few cheap chip tweaks you can pull out even more HP)
    TT fits only 2, narrow space for bags in the back. More exiting but less "daily"

  • @maximm.6969

  • @innerhammer
    @innerhammer Před 7 lety +10

    TT-RS is sportier but RS3 is better for a daily. And you can still hoon it when you like to. And obviously they are identical sound-wise. Price-wise, you compare 2016 TT-RS and 2017 RS3, not that different. maybe RS3 is a little cheaper.
    All in all, given 360 is coming to your garage, I would say RS3.

    If it was between the TT-RS, SQ5 and RS3, then I would pick the TT-RS without hesitation. SQ5 is an SUV converted to speed, RS3 is hatchback converted to speed. The TT is a sportscar from the beginning. It didn't need any major modifications to get fast, it was a blast to begin with. Resale value will probably also be good with the TT-RS.

    Cons:
    - going 8/10ths and higher the car is lacking, understeers and isn't great but that not what you might care about in a daily anyway. But I know you still tracked the Abarth and this this isn't good on the track. ( did an Audi sponsored track day )

      Kommentator you must not be a car person and I won't flame you like is common on internet threads. 7/10th is a description in terms of driving pace. Say 1/10 would be grandma on a Sunday drive and 10/10ths means the (at lease somewhat skilled) driver is driving the fastest he possibly can- 10/10ths usually would be on a racetrack where you can drive that hard. The TT-RS is a fantastic car at an elevated highway speed/canyon run pace but once you start really pushing it, it goes from awesome to just alright. I know Sam likes to track his daily from time to time so he might be disappointed in that area.

      You wrote that wrong... what you were trying to tell me that you rate the car 7/10 (seven out of 10)...
      7/10ths is redundant, what you are saying is that you rate the car 7 out of one tenth.. which would mean you give it a 700% rating??
      I didn't quite understand what you were trying to say, so I just assumed you were talking about some technical term I'm not familiar with

    Just ordered a Seat Leon Cupra 300. I wanted the Golf R but then I think the front wheel drive drama is half the fun. The Cupra seems the best of both worlds, is much much rarer than the golf and also I think the interior finish is a bit better for the money.

    Didn't say how much the TT-RS was? Save the cash and get the Golf R or a Golf Clubsport S
    also you are questioning the interior on a Golf but drive a crappy Fiat with a £10K car interior and like it??!!

      Haha didn't want to make it sound harsh - but you are looking at a wide range of cars and prices (which is probably a good thing)
      Looking forward to the rest of the videos in this series.
      You might be able to find a Golf Clubsport S starting at £36K if you don't mind the lack of back seats (think this would suit you more than the Golf R).
      I would personally get something with a decent sized boot and 4 seats if it is meant to be a practical daily.
      TT-RS and Cayman would probably get a bit annoying after a while with the lack of room

    TTRS - because it’s a bit more exclusive than the RS3. There’s a stigma about the TTRS - similar to when the Cayman first came out and people thought it was for those who couldn’t afford a 911. But now there is a market for sporty daily cars. Prefer the cabin of the TTRS to that of the Cayman and RS3. It’s massive fun, looks deadly - but isn’t gonna kill you.

    TTRS...My comment may be a little biased as I own one, defiantly was my choice for a DD sports car. It has a lot of space in the back for everything you would ever need and can be made ever nuttier with a tune and some exhaust work (2ndary cat delete etc). I have had mine for about six months now and have yet to see another on the street.

    Audi RS Q3. EDIT: PERFORMANCE VERSION.. czcams.com/video/sklOtvGR084/video.html
    Please try and find one for a Test drive if you like SUV, it has the award winning 5 pot engine with room for tunning revo do a 460bhp stage 2 ECU tune,, might be the perfect 👌 everyday performance car. Looks great to and not many on roads. Super rare for an Audi, only downside dated dashboard.
