- It's finally time to visit the FOOD Capital of the country, Lahore!
Today was an incredible first day which me and @TheJourneyofJosh explored our first day in the city, starting at our hotel and going all the way to the Lahore Fort and everything inbetween, from playing cricket, table football, exploring abandoned buildings, interacting with shoemakers to MANY locals showing us the TRUE Lahore. One local in particular gave me an incredible FIRST IMPRESSION of the city, offering to pay for everything and even giving me his sun glasses!

The Lahore Fort is much older than what that man said...the original Fort was constructed close to about a 1000 years ago. The Badshahi mosque was constructed 1673.
By the way, I was born in Northampton but have lived in Lahore almost all my life.

Wow! Lahore really defines the word character - from its chaotic avenues, merchandise being sold, motorists zipping crazily like Formula One drivers, people greeting you out of nowhere to structures that have borne witness to that region's history.
That 127-year old mansion you visited ❤ If that old mansion could speak I wonder what events it had witnessed, the cries and laughter that resonated within its confines... The house is like a tired old dame, but it still stands gracefully - like an homage to its once illustrious inhabitants and golden past.

You were asking when Badshai Mosque was built, the answer is 353 years ago in 1671 by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
A point of advice, Muslims only shake hands with the right hand so best if you do the same. ( the left hand for use in loo, and right hand to eat with)

U guys should visit rural area of punjab,beautiful landscape,not a rich country but people are rich at heart,atleast peole smile and enjoy life,not like western countries,depress and cold people ,ateast u get the feeling that u r live in our third world countries.
