Anyone reminded of when Bet, Betty and Fred went for a picnic in later years, and there was a similar incident with the car ( more dramatic, tho) ?
🤣🤣
Recycled...just like that old Ford Anglia probably was after the episode.
Yes, remember it well, So funny, brilliant.
Funny! That was one of the best episodes EVER! Hysterical 😂
Corrie classic - just loved the 3 intertwining stories and the end. Thanks so much for sharing.
“Isn’t Cliff Richard a lovely chubby lad?!”😂😂😂😂 Minnie was & is hilarious!!!😂😂😂😂 I remember Cliff Richard seeing that clip live at his concert via satellite link on the 30th Anniversary Celebrations of Coronation Street 1 hour special!!!
Florrie looks like the Joker with her mouth I always thought.
SIX people in that Morris? There's a Road Safety PIF just waiting to be made.
“Isn’t Cliff Richard a lovely chubby lad?” That’s the line that haunted the singer and led him to adopt a healthy lifestyle, one he has stuck to ever since.
Probably put 40 years on his career too!
What a great episode.Made me laugh how they had to get all dressed up even for a picnic.Poor Jack,he leads a dogs life.
Not unlike another famous Jack from future episodes ( in a different way)! Annie’s no Vera tho! But both couples loved each other really.
I don't understand why Annie Walker was such a snob. She didn't even own that pub. While the others she looked down on at least owned their own house.
@@goombabearA fair few of them rented from Mr Wormhole. Nto to sure who owne their house on Corrie back then apart from maybe Albert.
"the Coronation Street from this era was
interesting to watch,
the Coronation Street of today however
is very depressing,
or at least from what I've seen." -🙄.
🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Agree- also, today's characters are so unlikable to me. Most anyway
Just quit watching last month and it broke my heart - could watch these old ones over & over!!
The 'daughter' was actually played by a actress aged 18-19. And the picnic was filmed in Jan Feb, not a leaf anywhere (aye lad, they won't t'notice it like).
Priceless,Ena looks like Churchill
Ena looked like Les Dawson when she was caught in the rain.
We’re off we’re off we’re off in a motor car 🚗😹😹😹
0:22 - I believe that is a 1930s or 1940s Ford Anglia roadster, about £30's worth in 1962...just barely a car! (It's in great shape, though.)
EDIT: 7:06 - I take back what I said about the condition...it's just barely running!
Look at Martha's face when she's sitting down
When
7:03 Chitty Bang Bang! Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!!! Our fine four-fendered friend 😂❤😂
Funny such a late, but cold Easter. Much like this year! Looks like the sun didn't bother putting in an appearance.
Looked freezing.
It was filmed in early February. They did all the location shooting well in advance of broadcast dates.
Lol the thumbnail
Poor Ena...
''Laurence is a very nice type, he's in biscuits...'' So I guess they'll be hobnobbing with everyone at this do, then ? ;)
When did Minnie’s mother die? I guess she had, as Minnie says the wheelchair was hers, and the hospital never came back for it.
Belle vue zoo. Holy moley, that closed years ago!
1970’s I think
I live in manchester from 1970 to 74 remember going to bellview zoo walking past the rhinos one had it's back to the metal fencing and pissd all over us was so funny
wonderful.
They're having a picnic in Jan-Feb when this was made. Who thought this one up?
The Concepta was a bit long in the tooth. I wonder why they made her seem like a young lass.
She was 37, or maybe 36 going on 37. People aged more quickly back then.
How many in that car?😆
Oh they packed 'em in back then, love. "Still room up the back for a little 'un" as my old dad always said. Hardly anyone had a car and so they were sort of regarded as community property if you got the luck to have a neighbour or relative who owned one.
1939 Morris Eight series E car
oooh...Len Fairclough with a young girl.
teaching her to swim
@@ianhalsall-fox yeah right.😏
I don’t think we ever met her, but if it’s the Walkers and the Hewitt ( and Len) going on the picnic-isn’t someone missing? What about Nellie (Len’s wife)?
She has left him by this stage in the storyline
Mrs Walker mentions how bad it would be to be Nellie waking up to Len...I think they were still together.
What happened to that guy who was polish and he married that one girl I think they had a baby.
They moved to Canada.
@@benswindlehurst1857 ok thanks 🙏
That was Elsie's Linda. She married Ivan and they had a son. They did move to Canada but then came back and lived in Birmingham. Their son lived with Elsie for a short time in the 70s and was apprenticed to Len.
@@serendpity3478 okay 👍
12:42 😱🤭😂🤣
Those eyes wide open 😁
Bearing in mind the actor's later admissions to chlld abuse, watching Len fawn all over Lucille makes for very uncomfortable viewing.
Did anybody think of just using water rather than spitting in that old cake mascara? Yuck.
Is the baby ever found?
