For the following models & years:
Mazda 3 2004-2008
Mazda 5 2003-2008
Mazda CX-7 2007-2011
Mazda CX-9 2007-2009
1. Close all doors, open drivers door, key out of ignition.
2. Lock and Unlock the drivers door using the power lock switch on door panel.
3. Insert key into the ignition.
4. Turn key to the ON and OFF position 3 times in 10 seconds. Leave key in ignition.
5. Close and open drivers door 3 times ending with door in the open position.
6. Door locks should respond by locking and unlocking.
7. Press any button on remote 2 times. Doors should then lock and unlock.
8. If programming a second remote press any button on it 2 times and door locks should lock and unlock.
9. Remove key from ignition and locks should lock and unlock again.
10. Test Remotes

Perfect. The online instructions that came with the replacement key were wrong. This worked perfectly.
Worked for me, thank you. I had trouble registering the second fob. I have a factory service manual but it shows a pretty convoluted diagram.

Ordered a key on Amazon for $26 and $5 at the lock smith to get it matched. This worked great! They were going to charge me to program at the locksmith. Thanks!

2007 Mazda cx9. Amazing amazing amazing. Worked the first time with the key fob I bought off Amazon for $19. Now i just need to get the key cut. Dealer was going to charge me $350 plus programming .
Update: I just had the key cut at ACE hardware. It looks identical to the original key. The key opens the door no problem but when I put the key into the ignition it won’t turn. Anyone had the same issue ?

Hello. Please help. My mazda cx9 2008 has a keyless. 2 cards that work once and fail. Then I have to put the metal key in the ignition. Then the engine always starts. If you manage to start the engine without the key, the "key" light flashes red on the board. Smart key opens and closes the car. The only problem is sometimes I turn the ignition switch and the second time I do not and I have to take the key, the tip. The buttons on the door handle also do not work. Sometimes I press the button multiple times and manage to open the door. I have the impression that the cards are not always seen by the keyless module. What could be the problem? Forscan shows an error. Code: B1600 - PATS ignition key transponder signal is not received.
- Possible causes -
- Defective ignition key
- PATS antenna or cables damaged
- Damage to the PCM
Module: Opening the door locks with a remote control (no keys required)

I have an issue, I got a blank key cut at Lowes , I ordered a remote that has an existing key cut for another vehicle, I thought all I needed was to program the remote, and just keep them tied together,
So the new cut key will open the doors , and turn rhe ignition, but won't start the car , the new remote will open and close the doors remote but that's it , do I have to order another replacement remote with a blank key , take it to have it cut and program it ?
I don't understand if there is something in the actual key that allows the car to start or not , please help me

Hi there sir,I have a mazda demio 2006.I followed the procedure but the cycling part after doing the third time closing and opening of the door didn't happened.Not happened after that part of closing and opening of the door(The door lock cycle). I did it correctly.What can the issue be?
Well im not sure if that vehicle has a onboard way of programming.. and if it does then it's probably something wrong with the fuses or locks

2011 Mazda CX-9 factory keyfob model SKE11A04 Lock/unlock buttons do not work. Lift gate and Panic button work. Any suggestions?

Work perfectly on my 2012 Mazda, CX seven
I tried this but nothing seems to be working. I never seem to get it programmed. It gets to the cycling of the lock then when I am to press unlock twice, it does nothing. Idk if I am doing something wrong. I replaced the battery today as a matter of fact.

Does this work for 2015 cx9? My fob looks just like the one your holding in the video. Found one on Amazon for about 27 but it says it is not on board programmable. Wasn’t sure if this was true or not

2008 Mazda CX-7 The ECU doesn't seem to go into program mode after I followed these steps. Any ideas?
you may be doing it incorrect or this procedure is not compatible with your vehicle and you might need a scanner

I have 2014 Mazda CX9 and wanted 1) to get all doors unlocked when I turn off ignition so i can access back seat and truck for unloading. 2) When unlocking from keyfob, I want all doors to unlock by pressing unlock first time, not defaulted twice. Would you mind finding programming instructions for me please?

Is new key will start the engine? Is there a special procidure for that?
The key must be programmed with a programmer.. if there is an on board procedure i believe you must have two already programmed keys to program a third...
On my old keys I have right now, the buttons don't work, so how am I supposed to program new keys since I can't do the whole routine?

My 2013 mazda 3 doesn't allow the key to be turned in the ignition. Can't find any info on how to program a new remote for it. 😩
If you can’t turn the ignition you willl not be able to program remote sorry

@@MYKEYSAUTOMOTIVE it is not push start. It has one of those magnetic inserts in the ignition so if your key fob is located on your person the car will start without a physical key
This process will not work thats a proximity key!! Will not program smart access you need a good programmer!!
I am going to buy the keyphob for Mazda 2. Do you recommend any website? Then, I will program the key . I don’t understand anything about cars .. however , I am going to try because the dealer wants to charge me $150 only for the keyphob . He said is very expensive to program the key . So, I will try to do it myself .

I did all your steps, then the remote is working but the key can only turn the ignition, not start the engine on. The key was cut by locksmith. Did I do something wrongly?
The key has a transponder chip inside that needs programming its two different programming steps .. however you will need a immo key programmer to program the transponder chip inside or contact your local locksmith!

Sounds like you have an aftermarket alarm system
The same thing happens to me too, the door does not close the locks after 3 times

This worked on my mazda 3 2008.. why is it there is no beep sound when locking and unlocking?
Not sure brother try hold the lock and unlock button together until it beeps see if that works ..
