    Thanks. I learned that my dracaena definitely has the fungus problem. It's so dry here, especially with the wood stove going in the winter, that I shouldn't have gotten this problem, so I think it's probably the one-of-a-kind pot that I had it in. Thank you.

  • @1FRANHER1
    @1FRANHER1 Před 3 lety +3

    Really well explained and straight to the point, thanks for taking the time to clearly talk about this! I have a Dracaena fragrans at home which stayed in the same pot soil for about two years, I moved from a warm/cold place to a really hot and humid one. After moving, my Dracaena started to look weak so I tried to repot her, when I took the plant out of the soil , it had very few roots and all of them looked brown and completely hollow. I've been avoiding over watering and direct sunlight, used new soil and a bigger pot than before but the plant just keeps looking worse and worse, all of her leaves dried and have fallen, the steam lost all the green color, turning black and brown. Is it really dead now? Was it my fault during repotting? was it already dead beyond ways to help her? I'm feeling pretty bad about this, she's been with me for a while...

    I bought a beautiful Draceana Lemon Surprise from Costco. A couple of the bottom leaves had been sniped, it had been watered (probably not with our hard water) thoroughly.
    I'm in Canada. It's cold, I wrapped it up in cloth shopping bag to keep it warm while going outside. The next morning it had blackening leaves. I took it out of the outer bowl to let it dry better, trimmed some of the dead areas and have put it in a diffused light area of my home.

    My dracaena has started to have withered leaves. It’s definitely not the root rot, but very likely broken off roots. I might have damaged it with excessive moving of the plant while re-potting and then moving around for best spot. The plant was not very stable in the new soil. If the damage to the roots is bigger then slight - what are the chances that the plant will recover to better condition and ability to absorb water properly? Is the root system of a dracaena rebuilding itself after breaking of?
    Thank you

    I am learning a lot of new things about plats, so thank you very much. I live in easten Spain and here the water comes with a lot of calcifomi salts, so it's easy to get that white "crystals". We can't do the "water cleaning " process to get rid of eat (I understand what you are talking about with the soil's clean off with water when you are burning the plant with nutrients). Are those calcium like particles damaging as well?

    Hello Swedish Plantguys, your videos are amazing 💖
    I bought a Dracaena Fragrans (yellow/golden coast) about 6 months ago it came without any substrate inside the soil (pumice/perlite/clay stones).
    So what can I do to help it, self watering with pumice? I am worried about it being too wet as it has no substrate in the soil.
    or bareroot and fresh soil with a mix of 20-30% pumice but, I think you said before bare rooting is a bad idea for dracaena.
    I don't know what to do, please help with any other options you have for me. Please give me a few options or the best for my indoor plant.
    I'm in the UK.
    In 6 months i have never given fertiliser as I don't know which to give.
    I also let her dry too much but have watch ur video about drying out.
    Thank you very much.

    I just threw out half my dracena. It was fine for a long time. Then I noticed tiny triangular white things on it. They were smaller than the head of a pin. I carefully washed them off, but it seemed that the plant was dying back from the top. The leaves were falling off by the handful. There was a bad smell in my flat and I thought it was something else, but today when checking the plant I noticed a kind of wet pulpiness under the outer skin of the stem. I realized pretty much the whole stem was turning to a kind of liquid goo. I pulled out the whole plant, leaving the healthy-looking smaller plant in the pot. I guess that odd stench was the plant drying back. Nasty. The little white spots weren't moving and I couldn't see any bugs, just those dandruff-flake-looking things stuck to the stem and where the leaves need the stem. Can't find any description of this online. The dracena is far from the rest of my plants and they are all fine. What happened?

    I sent a comment yesterday and left out a word. Trying to multitask but I still would like to know. Should I cut my plant which is over 5 feet because the stem is curving. I have a stick in the pot to try and keep the plant upright. Even with the stem curving it's growing very nicely from the top of the plant. I appreciate any comments or suggestions.
