As i always say to anyone who reacts to Diana for the first time "And wait till you see her go really crazy because this much is nothing".
Try watching her at the age of 15 singing "Wicked game" or at the age of 14 singing "Rechenka", if you are interested for something newer the watch her now at the age of 20 singing "The day you" or the soundtrack from the movie "Dune".
I guaranty that you have never heard anything like her before.
Two things: almost everyone who hears this as their introduction to Diana Ankudinova says, "I was not expecting that." Secondly, you are the only reactor I have heard pronounce her 2nd name correctly the first time. Most people (hundreds) NEVER get it right, no matter how many times they hear it or see a description of the correct pronunciation. Glad to see you enjoying her talent. Here's hoping you stay on the bus. 👍
Although Diana is still only 20, this is just one of scores of masterpieces that she has been creating since she was 13.
Literally, even by that early age she was a mature artist with total command of the stage, supreme musicality and theatricality, and an emotional depth and ability to take on the persona of a song that is simply beyond everyone else!
By "a" song I mean _any_ song. Her versatility is unparalleled, her various performances covering practically every genre.
Although she has a very wide vocal range, being fully comfortable from C3 to D6, it is the sheer beauty and expressive power of her timbre, which is she is able to manipulate at will to suit a song, that is so very remarkable.
The quickest way to appreciate all of this would be to react to the performance of "Rechenka" on the 2018 TV contest _You are Super_ , when she was 14.

This was the final performance of the night of the first show of a 9 week singing show with 9 singers performing each week and also judging each other. Diana was voted the winner on this first night and was voted the winner of the 9 week show. She was 18 years old at the time, 20 now.

Sorry for the length of this comment, but there is a lot of background information along with specific information about Diana Ankudinova and this performance. This was a vocal competition called the “ShowMaskGoOn”, when she was only18 years old. This competition was held over a nine week period one episode per week starting on September 25, 2021 until the Season finale on November 20, 2021. Diana competed against 8 other professional singers, and when you include Diana, the total numbers of singer's came to 9. Also, all were members of the judging panel. For each individual performance they awarded judging points to each other, but not to themselves. Each singer was required to perform a different song during each of the nine weeks, and each song had to use a different genre and a different style of music.
One of the 9 songs Diana performed was her cover of the Elvis Presley classic “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, which was her first song of the competition. This performance demonstrates what many vocal professionals have previously speculated. Diana Ankudinova was no longer developing into a Contralto, she is now a true contralto voice type. For those that may not know, a contralto is the lowest yupe of female voice, and a true contralto is very, very rare. Diana opens “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, in her low, deep, and resonant contralto voice.
During a past interview Diana said she was unhappy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and that kept her out of the more prestigious Russian music academies. She then decided, along with her voice teacher to concentrate on improving and extending her upper range.
Now to answer a very commonly asked question about Diana’s voice. Vocal range is one of many points used in defining a female singer's voice type. At age 13, in 2017, her vocal range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5, a solid Alto range, but still quite low for a 13 year old girl. In 2021, 5 years later at age 18, during her “ShowMaskGoOn” performance, Diana’s vocal range was again measured. Her vocal range now measures from a low of C3 (male tenor range) to a high of B♭5 (Mezzo Soprano range). The improvement and extension of her upper range is also on full display during the middle part of this performance.
But it's not just how low or high she can go, it's the exceptional quality of her tone in her upper and lower registers, and her ability to transition seamlessly between her lower, mid, and upper registers. It's in the timbre, the roundness, fullness, and depth of her voice. It’s her ability to create, access, and use an enormous amount of resonance that define Diana as a Dramatic Contralto which is the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto voice type, and is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types. The depth and power of her full Dramatic Contralto chest voice is on full display during the final section of her performance.
So the question is, how does she do it? How does this young female singer achieve this low, round, rich, deep, resonant, and profound sound? Without actually scoping her vocal tract while she is producing these low notes to actually see what is or is not happening, the general conciseness from many vocal professionals seems to attribute Diana’s unique vocal ability to her winning the genetic lottery, meaning Diana was just born with her unique vocal anatomy. Diana’s vocal folds, (vocal cords), appear to be longer and thicker than the vast majority of female singers. Her larynx (voice box), also appears to be larger, and her oral cavity (mouth) is larger, plus her pharynx (throat), similarly appears to be longer and wider than the fast majority of most female singers. This combination of vocal anatomy gives Diana the ability to produce the low, deep, rich, full sounds that along with her unique tone quality makes her stand out, but without actually scoping her vocal track, there is no way to be 100% sure.
To conclude, near the end of Diana’s performance the judge on the top row who is the first to stand is the well known Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan, who was invited to be a guest judge. Yusif is also married to the world famous Russian opera soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana Ankudinova’s performance, she receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. A fellow judge and competitor, Julia Parshuta, the blond woman standing in the center row dressed all in red is well known in Russia as a contemporary singer. Julia Parshuta looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance, puts both hands on top of her head with a look of total bewilderment and disbelief. Finally, the 9 week competition concluded on November 20, 2021, with Diana Ankudinova being awarded the most judging points from the other competitors over the 9 weeks, and was declared the winner of the series of nine programs.

DEE ANNA is a Russian singer and is just 18 here. This was her opening performance on the Russian TV show ShowMaskGoOn where the nine participants judge each other's performances. All except Diana, who was by far the youngest, were seasoned professional singers, and the man who stood up at the end is a world famous opera singer married to an even more world famous opera singer. Diana ultimately won the competition. She is a primal force. btw it's DEEana. Plenty of songs out there to choose from but I would go back 6 years to when she was 14 with "Rechenka", then to 15 "Wicked Game". This was round one of a competition where the judges are also the competitors singing different genres over 9 weeks. Two really good ones from this, "Personal Jesus" and "The Crow".

The competitors have to assess each other and have praised Diana to the skies. They said of their performance: 'Diana has no competition on the show - she amazes with her talent - it's impossible to tear yourself away from her - you want to listen endlessly, they're in tears and they're even afraid to blink' .

May I suggest you react to Hi Ren by Ren. It's an amazing piece of art by him that depicts his struggles with his inner self. Ren has suffered for a decade with severe pain and fatigue, psychosis and many other symptoms which the drs misdiagnosed as a psychological condition only to discover recently that he in fact had Lyme's Disease all along. Through all his suffering, Ren had his music which pulled him through the darkest times. He is self taught many instruments, an amazing lyricst, storyteller, as well as a rapper and singer and composer, you will certainly find no two Ren songs are alike. One video of Diana's, in my sight, is a total masterpiece the like of which I don't remember ever seeing before in my long life. It's a must see for anyone that loves singing with unending emotion. The background of the song is essential to know. The title of the song is "Ornery (or "Fastidious" or "Finicky") Horses". The song has nothing to do with horses in reality - the horses are being used as a metaphor for life.
