I love this game. The only problem is the multiplayer. This game plays better as a single player game. Kind of reminds me of the original NES TMNT game.

Who's playing this in 2020? Just bought the PS2 version and been playing with my daughter. Combat isn't great but I enjoy the story and the fact that I can bond with my daughter reliving my childhood makes the game good.
Yeah the combat is not as smooth as the original. The game forces you to change Turtles depending on the enemies which makes it better as a single player game. The switching of turtles reminds me of the original NES game.
@@mysterycupofjoe2670 If anything, combat is largely superior in Battle Nexus compared to what it was in the very first game. Largely due to your ability to abuse charge attacks and certain special abilities (Casey stun lock). The only change that makes a big difference is the fact that you do not have access to all of your possible combos at game start (which carried over to the third game). The game becomes even easier once you unlock Karai, who has the ability to freeze anyone in place. Combos need to be unlocked by gaining crystals. Once you have enough, you gain combos that are much longer, stun foes and deal far more damage. Raphael still stands out in Battle Nexus for being rather powerful and can rip through health bars. To avoid damage, you can even rely on his godly jump attack and he is the only character that can toss foes in the air *including bosses* .
The worst thing in Battle Nexus is indeed its unbalanced difficulty...and the damn bats. Why were there so many bats in this game?
I bought and beat all 3 of the 2003 ninja turtle games for ps 2 about a month ago. I like the 3rd one the most.
Thats cool to hear, I remember playing this with my dad and brothers when this game came out. We never beat it though because my step sister deleted the saved data on the memory card and we never restarted it because of how far we had gotten

I still vividly remember playing the everliving hell out of this game on the original Xbox when I was a kid. It is also the game that taught me to protect your games and always put them back into the case because one day I left it on the floor and it ended up getting scratched to all hell and being completely ruined, despite that I still have my original copy lol. Good memories.

I remember all 4 of these games. 2003 GBA + GC and this (video) and the GBA Battle Nexus. I loved them all, and especially this one. Loved how some of the cut scenes from the show were included. Memories 😎😃😁🐢🍕
Leo and Ralph are the 2 badass fighters of this game. I always use the 2 of them. Their combos are super brutal.

I remember when I was a kid playing this and being stuck on the shredder fight for days, then I found out there was an attack Casey had that could infinitely stun lock him.

i don't know if you knew this but you could mix the weak and heavy attacks together to form a longer combo chain, and the more crystals you unlock, the more attacks you have.

The guy playing this needs to learn how to play the game...he only uses the throw once it became required and never used the block and rarely used the charge attack despite managing to get more charge crystals than attack crystals.

slashuur was the shit. hoped they added him in the original serie
Slashuur was such a hard boss for me to beat. I ended up doing it with Michaelangelo and got an "S" Grade. I didn't know you could hit him from the side after dodging so I used the helicopter kick and flew straight at him to defeat him. I also used the dash to avoid the teleporting scythe and was able to hit him in his pose. Such a nerve racking boss battle.
Brother, There were Two levels for TRICERATON BUNKER SHIP and Two levels for FEUDAL JAPAN.

I remember if you collected all the crystals or got gold. Don’t exactly remember but on the surf runs mini game you can unlock the classic arcade game. So many hours me and my brother put into this game.
