My 97 did that the first time I drove it. Installed a new tie rod end and it was solved. I actually had a 1974 Datsun p/u that was converted to 4wd back in the 70s in California using a CJ5 front axle, springs and transfer case that did the same thing. That was back in the 80s, never did figure that one out.

It amazes me how many people overlook the tie rods

Bought a 2001 grand cherokee and it would shake like crazy at time's. Break rotors and calipers solved the problem.

You would be surprised at what people miss when diagnosing vibration problems.

Great video. It is a whole schooling by it self. Can I ask you, if a TJ gets only a 2” suspension (coils or spacers), would the shocks need to be also longer or would the regular shocks be ok?

Yes, you should replace the shocks with upgrade units

I replaced all those things on my ‘04 TJ and the u joints. The control arms are in the mail. My problem is I had everything adjusted and anfriend came and re adjusted my drag link and tie rod . Maybe the track bar too for all I know. But now it drives horribly. Death wobble soo bad it can hardly go 20 mph. I’m replacing the knuckles and ball joints again when I install the control arms. I will do the motor mounts in a month or two.
My question is… how do I properly adjust all these without the original measurements I got off the previously installed parts? Thank you!
Oh one more thing…my pitman arm looks like it’s a drop down. I plan to change it out for the original size due to hearing it was better to keep it the original shorter length.

With that many changes, you will need to take it to an alignment shop, or buy the equipment to take castor reading yourself
