Edwin Valero (3 December 1981 - 19 April 2010) was a Venezuelan professional boxer who competed from 2002 to 2010. He was an undefeated former world champion in two weight classes, having held the WBA super featherweight title from 2006 to 2008 and the WBC lightweight title from 2009 to 2010. A southpaw known for his highly aggressive fighting style and exceptional punching power, Valero remains the only champion in WBC history to win every fight in his career by knockout. In 2010, Valero committed suicide in jail after being arrested on suspicion of killing his wife
Great foot work. What a powerhouse pressure style.
Edwin was always in his prime lmao
sad story
That's true
To be fair, most of his wins if you check his Boxrec, were all in his country against his countryman, a solid world champion, but I don't think he would've stayed up top very long in USA, unfortunately we will never know and that stings
@@dlc85007 You are right, I agree, in his 2 last fights he had a little more trouble to KO them. The 2 Mexicans were more technical and smart, so he koed them after the round 5. It was noticeable the increasing difficult to keep his KO invincibility and I also doubt he would keep it forever. However, looking more, he had many fights in USA and Japan where he trained and fought there for a long time. And even in Argetina, Panama etc. Not mentioning Vicente Mosquera, probably the most difficult opponent, tough as a wall. But in his first fights he indeed had mostly Venezuelan bouts.
I've been waiting for someone too cover Eddies training like this. đđ» great work

I discovered Valero in 2011, about 1 year after he died
+, after researching all I could find on him, I came to the terrible realization that both he + his wife were murdered.
Should have trained him to fight orthodox.
No, that's another reason it gave an advantage for him
He should make a comeback
