Damien Molony : I was nervous about joining 'Being Human'

- On a trip to the Being Human set, Digital Spy caught up with Damien for some series four scoop! In our video interview, the young actor told us all about his character's "terrifying past" and promised that Hal definitely "comes into his own"!

I was really surprised to find out he was Irish. Hal's accent is so posh and English and sexy!!
Hal and Tom have really revived the BBC version for me, I think it's the best season yet! I liked Mitchell but I think Hal's way hotter in his quirky, old world, tortured kind of way. I love Hal's flashbacks, seeing the different sides of him. He definitely makes for a tasty villain, as well as a cute and eccentric hero. I had no idea until watching this video that Damien was Irish!!! He sounds like a very proper, old world Brit on the show. I'm not sure which accent I love more ; )

As a hardcore fan of the series, I was greatly disappointed that the original cast was gone (with the exception of Lenora) and wasn't sure if I would enjoy the rest of the show. The one's I missed the most were Russel and Sinead. George and Nina were my favorite characters and I missed them dearly, but I think the way they handled the story after George's death was great. Eve growing up on her own and Annie clinging to her, the only thing she had left of her friends, now that she's on her own.
I was, thankfully, quite wrong. I loved series 4 and 5. I mean, were they as powerful as the previous three? I can't compare, personally. I already loved Tom to pieces, and I've loved Annie since the beginning, but I love Hal. He's fantastic, and Alex, how can you not love Alex? By the end, I was very happy with the series, as a whole. While the ending left me questioning a little, I still enjoyed it very very much.
...And as he spoke, my heart melted.
I can really see the character in him, how he sits and how he moves his hands. so awesome!!
I met Damien Molony two weeks ago at the stage door of the National Theatre after watching him in the play Traveling Light. He did a Brooklyn accent in that and it was amazing. He was such a gentleman when I met him and he gives great hugs! I can't wait until series 5.
I think Hal is absolutely fascinating. I've always enjoyed "Being Human", but only now am truly invested in one of it's characters.
Damien being irish has just made him so much hotter! Don't know why... it just has!

I wasn't sure about Hal coming in and when I heard Russell Tovey was leaving too, I didn't expect great things. But I loving how Hal is very cards close to his chest about his past etc. Miss George and Mitchell but we'll always have the first 3 series of them. :D

This guy totally inspires me, he's sort of new to the whole acting industry, and I'd give anything to be in his shoes, having a role in being human. It's my dream to be an actress and this guy is proof that you don't have to be super famous and well-known to be successful. It's all about your talent, you have to start somewhere. But I totally love this guy, and I LOVE the character Hal!! He better not leave!!!

I love Hal's name, his face, his clothes, his character, his dominoes... I NEVER thought I'd say this before the 1955 episode but... I think I'm even more in love with him than I was with Mitchell. And because of that I feel like I'm an horrible betrayer. Oh, Being Human, what have you done with my feelings... ?
Love the Irish and the Scottish accents .It is so cool though when they try to talk like us. The is a you tube video of the cast of Dr Who trying to sound American , its so funny..

Hal is definitley my favourite character so far, I think he's more interesting than Mitchell and the others.
I didn't think that Hal was going to be a good character, but I think he is the best character in Being Human so far. I loved Mitchell but Hal is a much more complex character and I love his OCD (': I want Damien to use his own accent but I guess the reason why he doesn't is so people don't think he's replacing Mitchell.

And the Old Ones coming was something we already knew about because they were trying to recruit Mitchell.

I love the relationship between Hal and Tom, because unlike with Mitchell and George or Aiden and Josh, you don't start with an established relationship. And in this case both of them are awkward.
No-one can ever replace Mitchell, but as Damien says, that's not his role... and the role he plays is absolutely brilliant.

Molony, your role was to become the hottest, most well spoken vampire of all time. ALL TIME. If the Twilight series consisted of a bunch of vampires like you, I would overlook the sparkle (but not if you had it, I would let my mind float into oblivion :3 ). Ugh, you're such an Irish babe.
