DBS has always been the more interesting band. Somehow they never quite got the recognition AS did, which is weird to me. Maybe it’s their their technical talent as a band that Sevenfold is lacking, that radio stations were scared to touch? I don’t know. Could have also been their record label choices, which ultimately gave them much more creative freedom as a band than radio friendly acts. It’s a weird industry.
@@bryantrudy568 Good Charlotte are the reason Avenged got a huge spike in popularity following the release of City of Evil. The album was actually doing really bad when it initially dropped. You can find a short clip from rock feed where Matt talks about it. Saying Avenged is lacking in technical talent is a very strange take though.

We opened for these guys in Old Bridge, NJ in the summer of 2000 and their live show was beyond sick. Anyone who talks J, never saw their drive as musicians.

In a lot of footage I have seen of the band between Day of The Death and Death For Life(and in this video too), he's wearing what looks like a wedding band, I could be wrong, but in Day of The Deaths album art, there is a pic of him that shows the ring. If someone could clear this up for me? I'm not about delving into the personal lives and privacy of artists who do a good job at keeping it under wraps, hes just always intrigued me for that reason

if you meet efrem ask him about a guy named phil in southern utah. some skinhead cheap-shotted him at a show and DBS gave him some free merch/hung out at his place(before they were on epitaph). first step: meet DBS
Listen to their stuff off the albums "If Looks Could Kill" and "Day of the Death". Those are more punk hardcore albums, and less of this metalcore stuff they're playing these days. I've been a DBS fan for a long while now, but I just find myself not getting into this album, as well as their newest one. Thankfully, like it is with AFI, we always have the old back catalogue of quality records to enjoy.
@xmonekex Search Achievement Hunter Weekly Update...he's the guy with the tattoos. He referenced this band in one of their videos...it sent about 5k video game nerds over to this video and made fans out of quite a few of them.
i'm a vocalist myself, and i idolize avenged. i hope to get in a band like them, and i'm sure my band will start on a less known label. but as a musician in a band, everyone wants to get to that point where they can make a damn good living with their hobby and become as famous as the people they idolized when they were my age. its typical, all bands change their sound for that reason at some point.
I love how Shadows is singing the word "suffocating". His voice is so unique.
