Simon is always saying someone's act is bad but he's a sore loser and doesn't know how to have fun
David is the better sport if he needs to get up.
Also, David should've kept his hand behind Simon, and keep on talking, while a lot of the talks were done by the puppeteer.
It made the act a bit asymmetric, imho.
Still a good act, but it lives with the "volunteers" participating or not.
And the difficult is that the puppeteer needs to improvise as the puppets play.

Well.. that is true. However he saw the ventriloquist's first audition, which was even more humiliating for the judge he called on stage. Therefor he brought it upon himself by going on stage. He could have said no instead of making an ass out of himself and the performer. In my opinion.
