His interviews in character are wayyy better than the movie itself.

Strombo is intentionally being serious, and it really adds to the humour when Sasha rants on Canada.

Whether certain people don't get the joke is kind of irrelevant. Hand holding in comedy tends to ruin the joke.
Much like the disclaimer in my previous post takes a certain impact away from my joke, explanations tend to take what's funny out of the joke.
Either way no harm done, right?

I really like George's approach! By playing it straight without laughing or reacting much, unlike most other interviewers, he gave Cohen the opportunity to make both more jokes and satiric commentary in the time alloted. I just wish Cohen would have played along by cutting back on the stand-up one-liners a little and balancing them with a little more political satire.

Pure Genius. Arguably the greatest comic improvisationalist on the planet. From 10:08 to 11:00 is brilliant. His conviction is amazing. George's straight-man is impeccable; truthful in the circumstances. Brilliant, over all.
