Miami evolved from a drab retirement community with rundown small hotels, first with the drug money and now with remote working. Even in the 70s the small cheap Art Deco hotels in Miami Beach were in desperate need of repair. There are now 20 high rises being built there, one a hundred stories.
Some yacht crews use the trans-Atlantic out of water crossing to do hull cleaning and maintenance, saving on dry dock fees.
Efficient
I didn’t realize that Daz was a granddad!
Shouts out to das for teaching me the word bellend I’m out here in Cali using it anytime something stupid happens😂🤙🏽
I'm office bloke Emmanuel, from south africa 🇿🇦 😀
Lol this video was basically the ultra wealthy fleeing from the mega wealthy peasants. "ewww he doesn't have a few billion, who invited this homeless person on to our privet space station".
It's dangerous for many of those luxury yachts because they are designed for looks and parties not seaworthiness. Huge windows that large waves can crash through, huge aft swim decks that can be damaged by even normal mid-Atlantic waves. Even swamping the poorly designed vessels.
5:32 where I live in Toronto , half the sports fans can’t afford to go to the games and half the fans that go don’t give a shit about the sport
A lot of the issues in modern life can be traced back to the Industrial Revolution. Having a heavy reliance on fossil fuels; subsequently warming the earth, forcing folks to go into debt just to buy a car because it’s the only possible way to get around(at least here in the US). Peoples patterns of consumption have also been completely altered. We’re fed the lowest common denominator(cheap and addicting fast food with 0 nutritional value, regurgitated remakes of old movies banking on nostalgia, corrupt politicians who are more of a celebrity than actual public servants). So much of the issues that are plaguing us can be traced back to the rich and powerful few who profit off these industries and the politicians who work at the behest of these greedy multi billion dollar corporations instead of the people. It’s hilarious when they make it seem like the onus is on us to ‘save the planet’ when the average person is just trying to get by.
We should return to pre-industrialization when the majority of jobs were literally shoveling human shit and garbage from outhouses, streets, and water ways only to earn pennies.
I think these mega rich people, all of whom preach about climate change and the world being doomed in a decade, should be given two choices: only one trip outside of your home country per year *or* a "good will gesture" of immediately reducing the population by terminating themselves.
Yea, f them…
Amazon should pay their freaking taxes. They pay zero federal taxes.
And a normal trip to see gorilla’s in Rwanda (non luxury) is around 20k from the US. I was working in Rwanda for an NGO in grad school and met many people on the trip. Most of the money went to conservation. Unfortunately I didn’t have the $500 it would have cost me to go on one of the tours while I was there, but I wish I had
Stop taking Bernie Sanders Facebook posts as lessons in economics. Amazon does indeed pay taxes. Also, even if Amazon didn't pay taxes Jeff Bezos still does. Amazon is not Bezos, it's a corporation that pays corporate taxes. Bezos is also taxed on personal income from Amazon.
Amazon does pay federal taxes. Just not as much as they 'could' be. It's not their fault. They follow the law and pay what they have to. The federal government needs to change the tax laws.
@Lala Emm Loopholes are holes in the law. It's the lawmakers that need to fill in those holes, but they don't care. Amazon isn't breaking any laws.
Almost all big US cities have large expensive art shows.
I'd be interested to see how much of this stands up for the wealthiest in Asia or the Middle East
Are their rich people in Asia?
They are referring to s9me of these people. They weren’t just referring to Americans and Europeans.
"more people are getting wealthy as ever, as money is increasingly consolidated at the top." isnt that a contradiction?
A lot of those highly paid athletes ,entertainers , etc. piss away money like you can't believe. As soon as the big money stops rolling in ,they go broke .
They talk about sports stars like they’re everywhere. 8 billion people on this planet. Maybe 1k sports stars in the world
There is no such thing as AGW. Get that straight. It'll bring down your BP
The narrator sounds like Rob Lowe.
Yeah I love WIMBELTON too lol
This is all true, I would know as I am a bil yo nare myself 🤓
I thought this video was gonna show what it's like to ride in a yacht or a private jet or live in a mansion... stuff like that. 😕
At least they are buying yachts instead of slaves...ya know overtly at least
This is genuinely sickening.
But hey, lets keep talking about how trickle-down economics and unchecked capitalism works, despite all evidence proving the exact opposite.
Present this evidence.
Dave asked the facetious question about poor people and climate change.... a minute later the narrator shows that 1 trip from DC to London by an A380 is equivalent to Bazos' fuel use for a whole month with 2 jets.
If anything, his travel seems pretty efficient. Yeah, his jets carry a lot less people, but the amount of commercial flights really makes his contribution seem insignificant.
You're using that fuel to move 2 people vs 500 though. He's definitely not the major contributor to climate change but it's a shockingly inefficient use of jet fuel
@@myreviews8099 Yeah, so what?
Whatever his use is, it is insignificant in the long run.
My main point was that Dave is just pushing one of those woke talking points about the rich being the main contributors etc. When they are are in such a minority that all the fuel use by the commercial airliners makes their private jet use insignificant.
Probably as insignificant as Human's overall contribution.
@@Schiltzenberger Wow, you really are this daft.
@@Schiltzenberger lmao 😂🤣🤣😂
What’s the population of the world? How much would it cost to gift every human $1million ?
It was 30 trillion
