Nice plant choices ❤ I grew lamb's ear last year for the first time ever. Since I moved, I don't know if it came back this year.
I was at Lowes yesterday. I picked up a few Columbine.

@@ourbackyardgarden No, there were no plants 3 for $12. Thank goodness (for me)...lol My yard is not ready for inground plants (yet).

😂 I think I ended up with the same wand when I was at Lowes last month! It works well for plants and cleaning out the bird bath - which is a twice daily chore because it sees a lot of action. There are a lot of dirty birds in my area.
I love those Lambs Ears…I can’t wait to see where you put them in your landscape.
I’m happy to say I got everything in - all my seeds are planted, and all my transplanting has been completed. My nasturtiums have been very slow to appear and if they don’t go through a growth spurt in the next few weeks, I might be tempted to buy some established plants at our local nursery.
And I think I only have about 10 more butterflies to go; they have been hatching out at the rate of three a day. I’ll be happy when it’s over. I want to do more with monarchs in August and September, so I’m cultivating two varieties of milkweed in my English garden beds - swamp and common. My hope is that if I grow it thick enough, there is a chance that predators won’t find every caterpillar. I’ll raise some of course, but I’m wary after I lost six monarchs and 10+ black swallowtails to a parasitic wasps last season. There are so many scary dangers lurking for little caterpillars, and a large forest of food might give them a chance.

I think of you everyday. I feel like I gave them a food forest this year. All day butterflies are tapping their butts on the dill!

@@ourbackyardgarden Butt tapping = laying eggs. Look for caterpillars soon! If they make it to the chrysalis stage, you have to watch out for them during your fall clean up. If they form on something green, they will be green. If the from on something brown, they will be brown. They are hard to spot. If you run into that problem, let me know. I have solutions that will be simple to incorporate into your system.
It’s so hot today - it’s like summer arrived in full force!
I think of you too, and I hope you’re doing okay with all your planting, weeding, and watering. I hope you and Farmer John get to relax in your beautiful backyard during the golden hours of the evening…and the boys don’t try to get your attention too much.

The lambs ears and lavender both thrive in dry soil and heat. I had some LE once and it sent up a purple flower stalk. There are so many varieties now of all flowers.
The Orbitz I believe is the set I got from Costco and is a shorter telescope wand. It has several spray patterns and amazing pressure wide open. I used a little Teflon tape as without it dripped and use brass quick connects.
Can’t believe those storms are still in WI. I know those weather people have to be tired as they were working this morning. Well we will find out tomorrow how much damage these storms caused. Thankful I haven’t heard about huge damages. Now I can watch the weeds take off 😅.
