- Welcome to the first review of the Casio ProTrek PRG 600 1DR!
In this video I will show you all the cool features of this watch and also show you how to use it!

Here are some Pros and Cons
Pros :
- All sensors show accurate readings and data when accurately Calibrated
- Solar Charging makes everything easy
- Hands move out of the way when reading the digital screen
- All features can be changed/modified according to your preferences
Cons :
- Maybe a little complicated for some users
- Radium is useless at night.(Thanks to LED light that makes everything easy)
Fun Fact - The radium glows the brightest when exposed in direct sunlight. After charging the watch bring it to a dark place or corner and it glower very brightly

I believe that some features will be very similar like the crown functions and resetting and calibrating the Thermometer, Barometer, altimeter ect.

Thanks SO much....the manual has the owner jumping from page to page for proper setup. All my basic settings are now done. All that's left is calibration after I locate reference readings.

I got the version that comes with brown leather strap. It´s one of my favorite watches of all time.
The fact that the hour and minute hands can move separately makes it truly amazing.
Even though there is G-shock Gulf Master GWN Q1000NV, that comes with 4 sensors, but since I don´t dive, this PRG 600 with ABC sensors is just good enough.

Very important tip: With this watch and any other solar watch, if you are using an artificial light source to charge it, check it with your hand first. I had this watch and used an incandescent light to charge just the lume or the night, and it warped the face of the watch after just a few seconds. So just be very careful with artificial light sources.

One important feature for me is world timer but having city names abbreviations is kind of difficult. Usually when traveling you know the GMT + or - in the place but using this watch system you need to know city abbreviation and if you're lucky and the city is in the watch that's it but if not then you need to find the abbreviation of the city with the same time zone you're traveling to. This issue could be easily solved by presenting GMT + or - in the digital display.

Does anyone know a way to switch the date format for this watch? I've searched high and low for this, so I guess not. But I would prefer the d-m format instead of the m-d. It's not really a problem, but I hoped it would be customizable.

is the rechargeable SOlar battery not a problem down the road? Im sure even if it is Solar charging, tthe battery will eventually need to be replaced.
I've had this watch for 4 years now and everything works fine. I don't know if in the future I might have to change the battery but for now it works exactly like it did when it was new :D

I recently purchased a Ball Engineer III Ohio Automatic watch, Black, 40 mm, NM9126C-S14J-BK.
I have new admiration for Ball. Definitely a class above many renowned watches. Too bad the Holy Trinity does not want to include Ball, however I will give him this category in my humble opinion, because for a watch expert, I would say that Ball is up to Patek Phillipe along with Vacheron Constantin and Breguet. This new acquisition in my humble collection, is a beauty that has many forms and with extreme expressions of beauty and is called Art! Therefore, Ball is my favorite of the Big Four, and based on general impressions and value for money.
Although the only "detail" is a bit thick for my taste and although the thickness of the box is not perfect in this model, although it has an attractive appearance.
As the owner of a Patek among other fine watches, I must say that Ball is easily compatible, if not superior, to the Patek in some aspects ...
My Holy Trinity has Patek at the top, but not necessarily Vacheron Constantin or Breguet as a second level ... I think Ball fits better.
They attract me like honey flies. Not only are Ball's watches beautiful, they represent the height of watchmaking development. Congratulations !!!
For example, people make me smile when they say the Rolex watch is better. "Yes, it can look better ...", but technically speaking there is a big gap between a Ball watch and a Rolex.
We must also remember and that you can not forget the luminescent tubes used by Ball, these are in my opinion the best tubes that have been applied to a watch. They offer a higher and more resistant luminosity - an intensity 100 times greater than that of traditional luminescent paints - which can last up to 25 years.
Honestly, if there is anyone who is in doubt when buying a Ball, I encourage you to opt for this formidable brand called Ball.

Nope, the glass is way too strong
Here's a little story : I accidentally dropped my watch from the scooter at the speed of 40 to 50 kmh and guess what, the glass had zero damage. The ring got chipped but thats like almost invisible until you bring the watch too close to your eyes.
Its very durable, been using for more than a year and still looks brand new!

Yes there are some differences between the ER and this particular watch.
There are some more minor features that dont really matter much (to me) but some might find it better.

1. Select the Temp mode
2. Unlock the ring and pull it out
(Now the temp. readings will flash)
3. Use an accurate device or a phone to check the current temperature in the room
4. Rotate the ring to increase or reduce the temp readings
5. Match the readings
6. Push the ring back in

Hi there, I don't have much knowledge about watches being Shockproof but upon checking I found no info about this watch being Shockproof.
So I guess it is not shock proof but still is very durable.

@@outofthebox1730 Since it's a Protrek, technically it should be more shock resistant than standard quartz. Strange there's no mention of shock resistance. Those who have any knowledge of this, please leave a comment.
@@romeo6048 Well, one person did ask me about the durability of this thing and It fell off my hand when I was riding my scooter. I was going like 40 or 45kmh and my stap frlt loose so I tried adjusting it and it fell off. Surprisingly there was one minute scratch nothing else.
I also accidentally hit it many times on doors and other surfaces and its still looks pretty good, not at all easy to break I gotta say.

My watch seconds hand not moving, please suggest what to do???
Try these steps
1. Make sure the crown of the watch is locked in
2. Make sure it's in "time keeping" mode (hold the mode button for 3 seconds and it gets back into timekeeping mode)
3. If the steps above don't work try fully charging the watch. Just keep it in sunlight for a few hours and it should work
And if none of these steps help then it might be a manufacturing defect or might be due to damage.
In this case you should take your watch to a certified casio service center. Please don't try to open the watch on your own or let any amateur do it.
Also let me know what caused it to stop working and I might find a solution :)

What is the difference between PRG 600 and PRG 650Y?
Not much but 650Y offers more and better features than the Prg 600
Got mine yesterday and the only problem I'm having is changing the temperature from celcius to Fahrenheit Can someone help please I'm beginning to think that it might be broken. It is fully charged
Hi , sorry for the late reply... make sure you proceed as same as it's shown in the manual and it'll be find. Otherwise the watch maybe be defective
put arrow in the temp then use crown to change the temp then press mode and will ask u if u want change from C to F

Yes it does happen due to your body heat and many other factors like movement, staying in shadow or direct sun, wind etc
To get the most accurate temperature reading while you're wearing the watch is to not wear it too tight. Make sure you can fit your index finger between your wrist and the watch so the watch won't be too close to your hand and pick your body heat as body temp and the temp of your surrounding vary.
And if you want 100% accurate results then just place your watch on a flat surface under direct sunlight.

Why'd they have to make this watch so complicated? Most casio watches are at least somewhat intuitive, this one seems like the engineers who designed it were hung-over from a night of drinking and just wanting to get through the day and go home and sleep. Very obtuse. Good video, I just think the watch itself could be simplified.
