Anyway I was living in Makati City the business capital of the Philippines... But you can find good deal of apartment here for 10,000 to 15,000 pesos a month... There is a lot of restaurant here that won't cost you much... Check the place you might like it before you flew to Palawan or Boracay for nature trip...

Except for internet and electricity, I would say Philippines is relatively cheaper than the US. It all depends on you guys' preferences and plans. Each island is quite different from one another and it could get really expensive specially in Metro Manila and touristy area like Boracay. U guys have to really plan this one out. Goodluck. 👍 Im actually hoping to see SB19 as well. Hahaha

If you're a licensed professional like a doctor, engineer, etc it might go higher probably around P45K-P100K ($890 - $1900).

You could easily spend 2500usd if you want to maintain your western lifestyle in the Philippines. When I was with my late husband, he never let me turn off ACs as he's afraid that molds would grow. Not even when we leave for vacation. We had 2 split type and 3 window types for the bedrooms. So you could imagine how high our electric bill would be. Medical expenses here are also higher for the foreigners. I remember when we were charged with around 120k+ for just a nose polyp operation. That was about 7 years ago. When he died I moved back to my hometown where its cheaper. Now I spend less and save more.

I hope you read this guys. If you are going visit Philippines for a vacation, I highly suggest, find someone that you can trust or maybe a friend of yours that is originally from here (Philippines) so that he/she could be with you all the time so no one will attempt or try to take advantage to you guys. If you are not familiar with the prices, or cost of living here and some other stuff like (Cost of Entrance fees on the beach, food, shelter and so on) then you need someone that is living here and can do the talking like someone who speaks tagalog so you guys can manage your budget while your here. I'm not saying that all the Filipino will try to overcharge you, I'm saying is I know that someone will take advantage since you guys are not familiar with the prices here.

If you want take outs and stuff, there are lots of karinderyas/eateries to choose from that are cheap and homemade dishes. There are lots of fast foods here too, like every area in every city has at least one.

Check out The Savvy Expat channel on CZcams for his savvy advice on moving to the Philippines. He describes the costs, the places, the lifestyle, and various aspects. Pick the title of any video on his channel that interests you then just react to it. If you want to check out a place, get the spelling of the name right then search it in Wikipedia and a map before going to a video.
