    We have the baler, disc mower, and rake system. What I would like to see, while I do LOVE having these videos for reference, is a MORE detailed hook up videos for each. We have the WORST problem hooking up the mower. It is SO heavy and the pin and crank system NEVER works like is described in the manual. We have to rethink it and improvise each and every year. ALSO, the dust shield inside the baler by the cutter knife was constantly getting caught up IN the knife as it traveled back and forth, causing the bale not to be wrapped, the whole system to jam, until the shield finally tore. We had to remove it. All of this costing valuable field time. PLEASE consider a detailed step by every step hook-up and removal of that disk mower. Ours certainly doesn't crank as easily as the one shown.

      Same issues. Ours jammed up and broke all kinds of stuff. Dealer took 8 months to repair then it broke with them testing. It's all just mickey mouse crap. Went out and bought a MF 1840 bailer and a MF rotary rake. More money but man does it work. Now if I could just get my 23,000 back on this Yanmar crap.

      @@79xlch the disc cutter BENT and twisted our one inch steel yoke on the tractor. Now for my other implements to sit properly back there, I need to replace that part. GROWL!

      It was the bailer that that jammed up on us.

      @@79xlch Mine did a bute of a foul-up this summer, released a bale, or so I thought, and off I went to do the next one. Not only did the twine get fouled, but it just kept cranking more and more hay in there until it was so tightly packed I couldn't get any part of it open to un-jam it! It took HOURS to get it free. I was furious.

    Love the concept, sick of overpriced huge equipment!

    Not being a farm-raised kid, I am curious. What is it that you are cutting? It doesn't look like any hay that I have seen before. We use alfalfa, bermuda and orchard hay and none of them look like that. Thanks, and nice video.

    The equipment is great but the owners manual and instructions for use totally suck. I found this video by trying to research how to reset the release arm. There are no instructions in the book on how to do it nor are there any decent diagrams to show how it goes. The best I can now do is try to make it look the one in the video and hope for the best. Yanmar definitely needs to rewrite their manuals.

      I bought a Yanmar rotary cutter to go behind my YT235. The dealer had incorrectly set up the 3pt structure, used the wrong bolts in places, not greased anything and didn't put oil in the gearbox or slip the clutch.... Of course no owners manual either..... I found a manual online and asked the dealer to send me the hard copy. That was 18 months ago and still no owners manual.
      Not to mention the hours put on the tractor trying to figure out why the cutter wasn't turning correctly when I turned the tractor (because they hadn't greased any the fitting on the tail wheel). Maybe the worst part is that they didn't have the top link attached to the tractor when they brought the cutter to me. They had trouble getting the cutter off the trailer because the top link wasn't attached. When I suggested just attaching it, they didn't want to do that.... It wasn't until they had left and I backed up to it so I could hook it up that I realized why they wouldn't hook up the top link.... The way they had incorrectly assembled the 3pt structure, the top link wouldn't reach even when extended all the way out..... They knew it and delivered and left it anyway, without saying a word..... Pretty sorry.....

      We finally figured out to use a spare pin to work the arm from working to transport. Yanmar was NO help. They simply repeated the steps in the manual. I'm fairly certain our dealer and delivery guy screwed up the way the arm is set up. Heck, delivery guy from dealer didn't even know how the system worked as it was the first one they had sold. HUGE red flag. Literally a dump and run deal. I honestly DREAD using the disc each season.

    If I get a this implement it might justify me getting a battery powered grease gun because currently I only have a couple of implements with a couple of grease able parts and i want a battery powered grease gun but I currently can’t justify the price with how much greasing I do

    What is retail price on this? Roughly, how fast (MPH) can tractor go while still getting a good cut?

    • @hamrer
      @hamrer Před 7 lety +1

      You can see the manufacturer's suggested retail price here: www.yanmartractor.com/build-your-tractor. The MSRP on www.yanmartractor.com is $6,500. To accurately determine the price, see a Yanmar dealer who can take into account recently announced promotions on Yanmar hay tools and any other conditions (trade-in, etc.) that factor into the price you and a dealer agree to. As for field working speed, what operators usually report is that the comfort and confidence of the operator are the main speed limiting condition rather than the mower's ability to handle even tall, heavy crops. Depending on how rough or smooth the field is, an operator-comfortable mowing speed could fall within a considerable range --- perhaps 4 to ≤9 mph? Crop and ground conditions are extremely variable so it is difficult to predict what an operator will find to be comfortable. The operator's manual for the mower can provide more details on safety practices and efficient, productive operation.
