Just like Simmons, he was almost unstoppable against Miami(2018) and Brooklyn(2019), but was limited greatly against Celtics. Giannis is in a team specially designed for him with appropriate rules, that's why he won the MVP. Unfortunately, his flaws have been exposed to everyone after the eastern finals(he is even bigger than Simmons, leading to a later collapse)

Last free throw should count for 2 in favor of Greece. 2 violations. 1st The guy touches the rim. 2nd The guy intercepts the ball after it bounces on the basketball board. The refs didn't even see that, but Greece's bench slept !

Some FIBA rules are different from the NBA rules. What Caboclo did was legal because you're allowed to intercept the ball after It bounces the basket.

So many solid 2 pointers from Brazil on the 2nd half. Greece was such a let down on 3rd and 4th period. As a Greek i still believe that our team can manage to continue further ofcourse. But... that loss was a much needed "slap on the face" so we wake up from all that marketing hype. The game is played on the field, and strategies are more important than personal actions. Well played Brazil, a well earned victory. I must admit my heart was going to fail from the stress in the last minutes of the game.

Regardless of the victory, the unsportsmanlike foul called on Rafa Luz almost changed the game, and it was a ridiculous call. How come did the judges watched that on VAR and did this? And when Giannis does a more agressive foul on Barbosa just a few seconds later is just a common foul? These referees have to be banned from the world cup.
There were some bad calls throughout the game. I didn't like those refs either

*I know that I'm a Greek so I don't have an objectively opinion but the last play was unfair as the Brazilian player not only bended the rim ( which is not allowed ) but also he changed the direction of the ball after it hit the board. Shame not only for the refs which they didn't saw it in the replay to be sure but also for the Greek bench because they didn't noticed it*

I saw the game , Brazil played better. However the highlights didn't show it, the crucial play was a long alley-oop pass from Calathes to Giannis right to the rim for him to dunk 10 seconds before the end with Brazil ahead by two. The pass was so awful that Brazil stole it and got a foul immediately and turned out after one more foul to win the game with the Sloukas ball bouncing. Greek coaching was so limited that Varejao seemed Hakeem. Brazil also had better shooting and ball movement from the guards. And that bum Calathes was so tragic the 2nd half that eventually Brazil returned from a big deficit and won. Giannis seems stranded in the way Greece plays the game. Greece will win probably NZ but they need far more improvement or else they gonna lose from both USA and Turkey in the next round.

There isn't as much spacing in the international game. Giannis needs to improve his low-post moves to score on heavier post defenders he can't overpower.

Πιστεύω το παιχνίδι το έχασε ο Σκουρτόπουλος από το ημίχρονο. Οκ είχε κάποια φάουλ ο Γιάννης και γι'αυτό να μην τον έβαλε άμυνα πάνω στον Βαρεζάο. Δεν καταλαβαίνω όμως γιατί να μην παίζει συνέχεια ο Γιάννης στο ποστ στην επίθεση. Το παιχνίδι θα τέλειωνε από το τρίτο δεκάλεπτο.

Μη το ψάχνεις φιλαράκι, όσοι γνωρίζουν μπάσκετ ξέρουν εδώ και καιρό οτι με αυτόν προπονητή έμπαινες με το ζόρι οκτάδα, τώρα κι αυτό έγινε πολύ δύσκολο. Όλοι αυτοί που έλεγαν για τετράδες και μετάλλια είναι αυτοί που μαθαίνουν μπάσκετ απο αθλητικά sites και εφημερίδες. Οι παίχτες σήμερα ναι μεν δεν ήταν όλοι σε καλή μέρα αλλά κατ εμέ έχουν το μικρότερο μερίδιο ευθύνης. Γίνεται να μη τραβάει η μισή ομάδα και να έχεις τέσσερις παίχτες με 0 χρόνο συμμετοχής? Μη το ψάχνεις σου λέω μόνο με θαύμα περνάμε οκτάδα, μακάρι εννοείται να τα καταφέρουμε και αν συμβεί θα είναι καθαρά χάρις το ταλέντο των παιχτών.

Όταν δεν αλλάζεις τακτική και αυτοί συνεχίζουν και σκοράρουν είσαι απλά ένας θεατής σαν εμάς. Όταν η ψυχολογία αυτών που είναι μέσα είναι στα ταρταρα γιατί δεν τους βγαίνει τίποτα και δεν κάνεις αλλαγές για να αλλάξεις την ψυχολογία τους εκτός από θεατής είσαι και μεγάλος μαλακας.

Excellent choice by the Greek coach to leave on the bench the only PG the Brazilians had not focused a lot on, our only Shooting Guard, our most athletic player and decent at shooting and our most experienced defensive player who is also reliable from the periphery.
He left out our 4 players mostly skilled at shooting in a game where the Brazilian tall guys were on fire. And although he knew Brazilians made whole plans against three specific players (2 main PGs and Giannis), the Greek coach decided to rely on these exact guys and make Brazil's job easier. Nice.

Actually what Brazil's player did in the last free throw is illegal because he hits the rim(look closely)and the basket should count for two!!! Although Brazil did deserve to win that was quite unfair....(referees gave the win to Brazil either you like it or not)

Με τετοιο προπονητη που παμε ορε?ετσι ειναι..τα λεγε ο Παππάς αλλα....χωρις σουτερ δεν πας πουθενα πλεον...οταν το καλύτερο σουτ το χει το 4αρι(Πρίντεζης φοβερος)και οι αιφνιδιασμοι σου ειναι σχεδον μηδενικοι,εχοντας εναν παικτη που μ αυτους εχει γινει mvp στο nba....σημαινει οτι δεν εχεις δουλεψει πανω σ αυτο το ατου που εχεις..ειναι απλα τα πραγματα...σαν να ναι ξενο σωμα ο Γιάννης απ την ομαδα αυτο μου βγάζει...δεν πα να χεις και τον jordan...αν οι υπολοιποι δεν μπορουν να σουταρουν...ενας κουκος δεν φερνει την ανοιξη ..η γενια του Βελιγραδίου και της σαιταμα ειχε 12 κουκους ισαξιους που φέρανε την ανοιξη .μ εναν προπονητη θρυλο ετσι?κριμα....με τετοιο υλικο αν ειχαμε εναν αξιο coach ευκαιρια ειναι...
Έχει τον καλύτερο του ΝΒΑ στους αιφνιδιασμούς και δεν τρέξαμε ούτε μισή φορά. Μας κέρδισε κατά κράτος ο Petrovic. Ούτε συστήματα, ούτε rotation, ούτε τίποτα. Κρίμα.

Προσπαθούν και καλά να αποφορτίσουν τον αντετοκουμπο αντί να στείσουν παιχνίδι πάνω του όπως οι Γερμανοί με το Νοβίτσκι ο Σκουρτοπουλος τον εχει ίσο με Μπουρούση .(αυτά λένε στις Σ υνεντευξεις οτι όλοι είναι ίσοι ) που να πας με τον προπονητή αυτόν σε λίγο θα τον βάζουν στο πρώτο 5λεπτο και μετά θα κουβαλάει νερά στον πάγκο.Κριμα για τον αντετοκουμπο γιατί τον καίνε φρενάροντας τον

Όταν χάνουμε ΕΝΑ ΜΑΤΣ: "ήξερα από την αρχή ότι είμαστε ότι να ναι" " με τέτοιο προπονητή ούτε Μάλτα δεν κερδίζουμε" και πολλά άλλα
Και να επισημάνω ότι όντως το παιχνίδι δεν ήταν καλό αλλά να σημειωθεί ότι είναι μια ήττα από τις τόσες νίκες δεν πρέπει να τα ισοπεδώνουμε όλα και η διαφορά ήταν ένας πόντος 😅

@nick kay δεν λέω ότι είναι ασήμαντο που χάσαμε τον αγώνα (κόντεψα να πάθω καρδιά όταν τον έβλεπα😂) και δεν τον θεωρώ καθόλου απλό απλώς είπα ότι είναι κρίμα να πέφτουν τόσες πολλές κατηγορίες τώρα προς την ομάδα μας εμείς είμαστε εδώ να την στηρίζουμε μέχρι τελευταία στιγμή και στις νίκες και στις ήττες της δεν λέω να ασκούμε την κριτική μας αλλά παράλληλα να δείχνουμε ότι είμαστε μαζί τους Γιατί είδα πολύ αρνητικά σχόλια ... τα δεν πειράζει πάμε δυνατά ήταν ελάχιστα ( υγ είμαι κοπέλα )
