Shouldn't we turn the bottom valve straight up before turning the water pressure back on to prevent salt water from flowing through the supply lines to your equipment? Turn the water back on (top valve) then point the bottom valve toward the discharge line to purge the unit of salt? The above demo seems incorrect to me.....
Can a system like this be used for a shower? I do not want to add a larger system to the whole house, just a water softener for a single shower to help prevent eczema.
Seems we have the same great idea. I don’t see why not. In the US they sell this same device in a white plastic package for x3 the price. I may well give the 8 litre version a go.

You are correct. The way he had done it, would get salt water into your espresso machine

starts scaling up............most places do it every week as a routine.
When you notice hard water smudges on the glass but you should really make it a routine so you never get to a point where they are dirty.
