    Ladies and gents, welcome to the sound of the 80s and 90s.
    Nothing touches the sound of a tuned 2jz and rb26.
    Respect!!!!!!

    Awesome stuff mate - sounds unreal. I'm just about to buy the HPI equal length front pipes for my 260rs. They seem very similar to the Reimax in terms of pipe diameter but also have a flex joint. Plus I'm getting the HPI outlet dump pipes so it should all match up nicely.

    Sounds closer to the old school single turbos

    Love the noise of the equal length downpipes, really changes the sound for the better!

    This is the video I needed! I just bought the same downpipe. What else is done to your car? It sounds incredible!

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR  Před 6 lety +7

      AutoPurist it’s decatted, tomei elbows, -5 turbos and hks step 1 cams. I’ve swapped this exhaust for a HKS silent hi-power. It’s night and day different to the tomei.
      I loved the tomei on the car when it was running stock everything. Since the change, now with over 500whp it was far too loud! Certainly wouldn’t of been able to take the car to a track with the tomei :( it sounds fantastic in this vid and always did with your foot flat. But just normal town/city driving it was obnoxious. Post up a clip when you get your Downpipe on, the equal length pipes sound amazing imo.

      Cool! The HKS Hi-Power is what i have on mine! I put up a short video on my channel. I still have the resonator and its still too quiet for my liking so i will be removing the resonator at some point within the next few months.

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR  Před 6 lety

      Yeah its a very very quiet system. Sadly can't have the best of both worlds. The Tomei was too obnoxious and now I've found the HKS to be too quiet low down in the rev range. I'm also getting rid of the resonator. Think the best thing to do is have a small section of pipe made up with flanges so you can swap out when needed. Hopefully give it a touch more volume low down without being too silly. Also got the option to switch back to get rid of the drone if going on any long journeys.
      Fantastic sounding exhaust when you're going flat out but really gives the car zero presence when you're driving normal. I'll try and post up a video sometime next spring when it's back on the road. If you get rid of the resonator, put up a vid!

      truuuupR I was trying to decide on what front pipe I was going to get and listening to yours I think I will go for the Reimax. Have you got any sound clips with the hks exhaust? I am about to bolt on some -5 turbos myself and I am not sure if the Fujitsubo catback that came with the car will restrict power with it using dual 2.5" pipes into one dual tip muffler.

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR  Před 6 lety

      Yeah there's a pretty crap quality clip of my HKS exhaust I've uploaded from last year. When the cars back on the road for the summer I'll be having the resonator removed to give it more volume. Unsure if the 2.5" will be restrictive, I'm not clued up enough to say what difference it'll have on performance, you'd have to talk to your tuner about that.

  • @Henzern
    @Henzern Před 6 lety +3

    Is this twin turboed or single? I normally dont think twin turboed gtr's sound as good as single turbo conversion, but this sounds beautiful! And how many hp's are we talking about?

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR  Před 6 lety +6

      Twin turbo. Not stock twins though, 2860R-5's. 505hp at the wheels at 1.2bar (17.5psi?). Nearer to 600bhp before transmission loss etc. More potential for these turbos to run up to around 1.8bar (26psi) for more power but the engine is stock so keeping the power lower until I can get the bottom end forged. Singles do sound good, although most run with a screamer pipe which, I personally think sounds terrible. The equal length downpipe gives you a really nice sound for a twin setup. I personally think you hear more of the RB sound with a twin setup, as opposed to a lot of turbo noise/screamer pipe when opting for a single. The flutter on a single setup does sound great though!
      As mentioned in one of my other comments, the exhaust in this vid is gone. Swapped it for a HKS Silent Hi-Power. I'll try and get a video up of it before the car is stored away over winter. Lovely note on the Tomei Ti, but holy f**k it was loud. Too loud for just normal driving.

    I sound like a hybrid Prius compared to you haha. Love the sound but I can imagine the droning gets old after a while. I drove my buddies R32 w/Tomei Ti, Cams and -5's and it sounded and felt great but it was reeeeaaal loud

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR  Před 6 lety +1

      Yep! Quite the novelty when you first hear/drive it. After a few weeks I was starting to feel a little embarrassed with all the 'distasteful' looks I was getting, even when driving at very low rpm (it was stupid loud even below 2000rpm). Like I've mentioned in my other comments I've swapped the Tomei in favor of a HKS Silent Hi-power. Perhaps too quiet for my taste but there's always the option of removing the resonator to give it more volume. I'll upload some clips of it when it's back on the road in another 5/6 months.

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR  Před 7 lety +2

      Yeah de-catted. Tomei Expreme Ti with Reinik equal length downpipe and HPI elbows. HKS step-1 cams with a pair of 2860R-5 turbos. Think the exhaust will be replaced with a HKS Silent Hi-power in the next few weeks. Car is far too loud :

      @sr20drft Před 7 lety +1

      Nice , iam running a Mines equal length , with titanium catback , stock cat,stock cams, unfortunately iam not that happy with the sound . This weekend i install a 200 cell cat .Hope it gets a bit more agressive

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR  Před 7 lety +1

      What are you not happy about in terms of the sound? Too quiet? or just the wrong tone? My current setup in this vid is too loud for my taste. The Tomei Ti system sounds fantastic on a more stock RB motor. Now with all the mods it idles over 100dB, wouldn't ever be able to take this car to a track because of how loud it is. I'll be swapping to HKS Silent Hi-power in the next few weeks. Debating a Kakimoto N1 but I think that will also be far too loud.
      I may add a 100 or 200 cell sports cat. Currently using a straight pipe in place of the cat but because I'm running a map sensor instead of MAF''s, the car absolutely STINKS of fuel. Can't drive with any of the windows open because the smell will give you a headache.

    • @sr20drft
      @sr20drft Před 7 lety

      truuuupR don't know the tone is okayish just not that aggressive.
      and a bit too quiet .
      But the rb is pretty much stock.
      Maybe the 200 cell cat will change the sound a bit .
      100db on idle is way to loud.
      I live in Germany. we have some strict noise control here .
      you have Instagram?

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR  Před 7 lety

      The only other restrictions would be the downpipe, elbows and the cat if you're running an aftermarket exhaust already. Are you running stock downpipe and elbows? If so I'd get something aftermarket. Much more freer flowing from the turbos, and as I found out, gives you much more volume (too much in my case!)
      Yeah I've got insta @rd33GTR, I don't update it much though.

    Looking for a EL-Downpipe... mines or reimax...
    all the mines guys say, that the car's lowest point will be the downpipe due that one pipe... how is the reimax DP doing?

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR  Před 5 lety +2

      Depends how low your car is I guess. If it’s absolutely slammed then yeah you’re probably going to catch it on something. I’ve personally not scraped or caught it on anything, yet.

  • @nissanskylineequalrb262

    Which one is it ? Cheaper one or the expensive one? Thx mate

  • @ayrtonm7907
    @ayrtonm7907 Před 4 lety

    Sounds great. I'm actually looking into one of these, what's the ground clearance like? I wanted Mines but they hang low and the welds are complete garbage, reimax looks much better quality

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR  Před 4 lety +1

      Clearances are ok. Nothing amazing but not terrible either. Depends how low your car is (obviously). Mine is quite low but not slammed. Never have issues with scraping over speedbumps or anytbing like that. I had the Mines pipe before the Reimax and yeah the build quality, particularly the welds left a lot to be desired.

      @@truuuupR Whas there a sound difference between the Mine's and the Reimax pipe?

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR  Před 3 lety +2

      @@jdmlifesweden not sure there would be any difference. I never fitted the Mines (as I was torn between upgraded twins or go big single). I would guess they would sound similar as they're both stainless steel and are both equal length that are very similar design.

    • @jdmlifesweden
      @jdmlifesweden Před 3 lety +1

      @@truuuupR thank you for the answer! I will go for Mine's (fan boy🤣) and a Tomei Expreme on mine.

    • @truuuupR
      @truuuupR  Před 3 lety +1

      @@jdmlifesweden The Mines is lesser quality in terms of welds but still a solid choice. Be mindful that if you've got a decat and aftermarket turbo elbows then the Tomei will be overwhelmingly loud. I had to swap mine because it was so loud.
