    Thanks for watching!
I'm an amateur bass player, this is my first bass and amp. I still have a heavy hand and I don't play as well, but I love playing and jamming, and I'm sharing my hobby with you.
The sound test was recorded directly by the footage, made by an iphone 6 (which still works well!), The Amplifier had all the tones set at 12h, and the volume at 25%, and the compressor button turned on.

    Fulfills what was promised!
I chose this amplifier due to the cost x benefit ratio.
I am very pleased, because for me it was important to have an applicator that allowed me to play jams with the band, and in the first test it was already clear that the amplifier is very strong. I was able to play, with a good perception of the bass sound, only with the volume at level 4 and all other setups in 12h.
For me it is also important that the amplifier can be used for study, in a room. The amp is not that big and doesn't take up much space, and the headphone output works great.
I should soon test the direct connection to the PA and we'll see how it goes.
As against points (which does not affect the general quality and performance of the amplifier), I have only the following points:
    - carrying handle: it could be stronger. For a 21kg amplifier, we need a handle with a good grip, thick and comfortable. The handle is a little thin, and it gives me the feeling that in time it will break. I may be mistaken, and I hope so, but to load the amp I'm already grasping it with both arms instead of using the handle. We will see in the future how this handle will be, and if possible I will make an edition of this review.
    - Transport box could be double, or with more protection. Fortunately, my box arrived almost intact, there are only a few marks and holes, but it did not damage the amplifier. Perhaps it is for a good service provided by the carrier. But I leave my opinion that the cardboard box should be reinforced.
Anyway, it is already clear that there is nothing to complain about the performance of the amplifier, I only have compliments. For 159 euros, it is impossible to get an applicator with such power and quality as this Harley Benton.
Congratulations Thomann on the quality of the Harley Benton brand, I have never seen so many low-cost products with such high quality!

Not easy to evaluate an amp through a video recorded in a non-acoustic-treated room. How does it compare to you with the little fender above?

thanks! and I agree with you. I am not experienced, but I can say that for 150 € it is a powerful amplifier that met my need to rehearse with a band, and guarantee the sound for a medium-sized room. The fender is a guitar amplifier, it is a Mustang25.
Music is just like that, we all drink from the same sources!

Tip, set some sound proofing up it’s really cheap. get a mic and set the Mike directed in front of the amplifier and make sure to sit further away . The microphone stops any instrument noises like string slap or fret buzz from getting in the way of the actual bass sound.

Thank you for the video , I have the same amp.. is it safe to play with the clip light being blue? I thought if the clip light went blue the gain or boost had to be lowered. I'm a new bass player with no knowledge ..

Hi! Thanks for the comment. Honestly, I thought the light was a sign of the compressor's action to reduce the variation of the bass sound. But I am also noob kkk, and the booklet that comes with the Amp has no operating instructions, now I am curious and I will try to find a manual on the Thomann website.

@@bassheadbob7860 Yes its ok to have the blue light on. Its just showing you when it kicks in on loud notes to reduce their volume. This is particularly useful on slap bass.
A clip light on a PA amp is totally different - that's showing a distorted signal which can damage speakers.

Hello! To practice at home and at rehearsals at the same time, is necessary 2 amps. (LOL!). Serious now, it is ok for me, at home is possible play well on low volume, and with headphones too. At rehearsals, I never needed to set the volume over 50%, this amp have a good volume and good quality for the low price. I still use it after 3 years.

    • @gustavo-GcG
      @gustavo-GcG  Před 2 lety

Input for a normal jack, or the same as plugged into a guitar/bass.
This amp is meant to be used as a bass, I don't think it will ruin a guitar (or the opposite is not true, a bass is not a guitar amp, it will destroy the amp) but it is not its own for guitar.
There is another model for Harley Benton proper for guitars, as a guitar needs a high treble power, it is recommended to use a guitar amp.

@@craigjones1934 Yes, it's ideal for rehearsals, with a guitar amp and drums in full swing. For gigs, if it's in a room or bar, space for 70 people, I think it's enough. When I play in a very large space, I leave it miked, and I use it as feedback.

We have this amp at our music-school and in one word, this amp sucks. It is a real 40W and not 80, my Hartke A35 plays louder with 35 W. It stays in a corner of our repetition room, none will play with. I work with an older Novanex B50 that have a really round sound. In fact it is impossible to have a really clear sound on this amp (like I use on Hartke).

I play most on Hartke and a lot of friends don't like the chirurgical sound of my amp. Yet I resolved the problem on recording, I record throught a Zoom B2 with amp/cabinet simulation. So with less money I play on SWR, Ampeg, TE... 👍
