    At the end of the day, the problem with these agencies is that they do not actually know what makes an application stand out to ICA. Nobody does. So that means they are only guessing like everyone else, and of course it's possible to make your guesses sound very well-reasoned and logical (as the lady in this video does). But the bottom line doesn't change - they are guessing as well. This doesn't change no matter how articulate they may be.
    It's a sweet deal for them because they don't have any success/failure standards to meet or be measured against i.e. there's no way to know if they've actually done a good job or not. They can always blame ICA or quota. So their claims are completely unfalsifiable.

      @NewtoSingapore  Před 18 dny

      I understand that because you have access to the track record of so many applications - you know what definitely doesn't work so if you get rejected a few times, it's natural that you go reach out for help. As long as you don't go for an agency that is selling you certitude - if so it's definitely a scam!

    • @ScuterKoo
      @ScuterKoo Před 18 dny +2

      @NewtoSingapore it's still doubtful that they have information that is not already publicly available though. Because nobody even knows how many criteria there are, nor how those change over time. I wonder if these agencies can really give you any additional information that you could not find on an expat forum or group. The cynical side of me just thinks they're preying on foreigners willing to do anything to raise their chances, regardless of whether it's rational or not.
      But even if it's just for psychological comfort/assurance that "spending this few thousand dollars can make my application stronger," then perhaps some would be willing to spend it!

      @@NewtoSingapore Actually the other commentator is quite right. ICA is so fking opague & their goal post keep changing. If u read the news, a few case of PRC masseuse/ KTV hostess who was arrested for vice was found out to be a PR. For singapore, WHERE u come from matters more. As some commentator mentioned, even CEO have difficulties.

      It depends on what you need - I think if I get rejected and want to apply again, I will at least get their services to review my documents (it’s a couple hundreds dollars)
      Then if there is a lot of work needed, to get their help from start to finish it’s from $2k+

      The government is more willing to grant citizenships to women than to men, probably because... men tend to be less malleable and more commitment is required from male citizens. This is reflected more clearly in how foreign women who marry citizens can get citizenship in 2 years whereas for foreign men, being married to a citizen only helps in the available paths to citizenship but doesn't even open up a new path itself.

    People keep parroting Safety as the main attraction of singapore. If u really value safety, there are 5 countries safer than singapore because we are 6th in the world. Don't forget singapore financial security is very bad. Most of your salary will go into housing, tax, inflated prices. Singapore is a land of a thousand small taxes, that bleed u to death ultimately. The people who are enjoying are above 60 who bot their HDB at 150k back in the 90s.

    • @NewtoSingapore
      @NewtoSingapore  Před 15 dny +1

      Safety is indeed one of the factors people value here, but it’s not the only reason people choose to live in Singapore. For me, Singapore’s diverse culture and quality of life also play significant roles.
      As for the cost of living, it’s true that it can be high, especially when it comes to housing. However, I think it’s important to consider the overall package-like the strong healthcare system, reliable public transport, and the vibrant job market. Everyone has their own priorities when choosing where to live, and it’s about finding the right balance that works for you!

      First I do welcome more of diversity of foreigners like yourself. However reality is different
      What u wrote sounds like a singapore tourism brochure.
      "diversity"
      surely u don't mean the overwhelming chinese/PRC/Indian National mix with 5% others?
      There are 100s of countries with REAL diversity with a mix from 160 countries.
      "Quality of life"
      Hot boring, and most stressfull & most worked hours country in ASIA?
      "Reliable public transport"
      Yeah a small island we need almost 2 hours from tuas to changi ? Jam eveywhere despite EPR & COE? MRT that u have to queue up twice because its full?
      "Medical"
      Tell that to my grandmother & many who had to wait for more than 24hrs for a bed. And btw, would u trust a doctor from delhi ? Well we import them by the 100s.
      But since they are "approved" by Spore, well they must be the best.. yeah?

      Getting citizenship through marriage to a citizen is actually very different for males and females.
      Females who marry a citizen can take the special path that only requires living in singapore for 2 years to get citizenship whereas such a path doesn't even exist for men. For men, being married to a citizen is just a bonus they take into consideration when you apply through the usual ways.

    • @SgPatroitism
      @SgPatroitism Před 17 dny

      do not mislead her, while this was possible long ago. Now they have sealed this loophole. Better to marry an aussie or Asian citizen in EU USA, but pls don't marry a singaporean. If u have a son, he will be RISKING his live in the army for 2 years. In 2024 we aint got no time to waste.

    • @riptyurass302
      @riptyurass302 Před 9 dny

      Why do people even think like this? You’re taking your son’s freedom away so you can live in Singapore. As someone who was born a dual citizen, served in the mandatory military, got a chronic injury and then had to renounce citizenship of that country right after because they don’t allow dual nationality, it’s disgusting to see some people think about doing this so they can get a PR status. You’re screwing over your own child.
