- Minecraft Legends is the new Minecraft spin-off game from Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive! In this 'Action Strategy' game, players rally mobs from the overworld to face off against the Piglin Horde (and sometimes each other), save the world, and become a legend!
In this video we watch the opening intro cinematic, play through the controls tutorial and learn how to play Minecraft Legends, then play the first 30 minutes of the Campaign story mode! We defend villages against Piglin attacks, discover how to build defense structures and repair buildings, and attack the piglin outposts head-on!

I like how the player canonically goes through most of the game absolutely SHREDDING on the guitar, cause that's how you command the troups.

The cutscene showing one Piglin killing another would be a really neat way to hint to the player that Piglins can hurt each other with their attacks
I’ve watched the opening cutscene several times but this is the first time I’ve thought that farmer zombie villagers, who are wearing hats, shouldn’t burn in sunlight even in the main game.
I love the little *crouch crouch* the player does during the cut scene to show agreement. Cute little nod to how MC players use in game body language
The animation style, the visual effects, and the sound design is simply stunning! Can't wait to play this game for myself!

Hope for a great series, Im definitely watching your playthrough!!! I think the game looks AMAZING!!! But there should be more content, ally mobs, and more love to dlc's and expansions similarly to Dungeons dlc content.

I'll cover it in more detail soon, but the "Lost Legends & I" option from the main menu has more ways to play the game - including DLC!
We're only beginning to scratch the surface for ally mobs, and there's definitely room for expansion in future.
@Pixlriffs hey Pix, I've been watching other reviews aswell as yours and it seems that the ai and pathfinding are broken especially when some piglin outposts are on higher ground and your units and piglins even fall off the edge and due. Even just by themselves and when using a bridge to cross and around tight corners!!! They either have to make it that units TP to you when a certain height away or make an invisible barrier to stop units falling!!!!
(You will probably experience this throughout your playthrough) 😢

2:57 I love how they did the game transition from Minecraft main game player traveling through to Minecraft Legends, I think that story concept is really nice, really fits it with the other games. I don’t really think there are that much games that kinda transition from another spinoff game to the other, I think they’re mainly in the current games but this is kinda better in my opinion. I wonder if this has become the Minecraft multiverse of the main game and the Minecraft spin-offs? Huh I mean it seems that way now that happened!
I love that the creators of the game used the minecraft item pickup sound 5:57 you just need to listen closly.
The sound design in this game was lead by Samuel Åberg, who also works on sound for vanilla Minecraft :)
The cutesy art style masks it but the cutscenes are kinda horrifying when you think about them - right from the friendly zombie setting on fire. Lots of story packed in - like the illagers apparently being regular citizens alongside the villagers. Really interesting!
I like how in this universe the villagers and pillagers live together.

Might give a fun explanation for why ruined nether portals exist too! They were part of a Piglin invasion, but the hero shut them all down

Definitely enjoy this game so much. It just bring back memory of the similar mechanics and system of a underrated game called BATTALION WARS.
It is my first Pixl and my first Legends series at the same time. After this will be watching a regular survival series cuz I can see this is gonna be very different than survival minecraft

This is going to sound really weird, but I really appreciate the fact that they didn’t make the big brawny one have the males voice, they gave it to the petite one. I like to see that they’re going against stereotype even though it’s just a fantasy game

I find this game a little... confusing.
Actually, I find all of the official Minecraft inspired games(?) Confusing.
Minecraft Earth flopped and I didn't even know what that one was trying to achieve.
Minecraft story mode was a fun thing, but I think it could have been done way better.
Minecraft dungeons is... something...
I mean, I know Minecraft is really popular, are they trying to make other things with the hope that what made Minecraft so popular will work for these?
These seem more like mobile game than anything.
I don't know much about how spin-off games like this happen. But the team at Mojang has a love for all kinds of games. They've tried to make other titles in the past - Scrolls and Cobalt were both Mojang titles - but they both flopped because they weren't related to Minecraft, which had become an overwhelming success.
Mojang is still a games studio, though, so it's natural for them to want to branch out into other games - and since Minecraft is a sandbox with a purposefully vague story, they have to find other ways of telling those stories.
I don't think mobile games have fully fleshed out Diablo clones and RTS games lol.
As I've said, that's the upside and downside of the spinoff games...they're trying to copy the visual style of Minecraft proper (sort of), but they actually are only marginally connected to the main game.
@@nyahnyahson523 Actually there are quite a few...maybe not especially *deeply* fleshed out, as something that needs a walkthrough or guide would defeat the point of a mobile game, but they're out there.
How does Pixelriffs have access to the game? Is he part of some kind of beta test or early release, even though the game isn't ready for the public?
They sent me a code, similar to how games websites will get a code so they can review the game before it’s release.
The storyline reminds me of the one in Hogwarts legacy

I like the video but I just wonder one thing.... Piglins outside of the nether, how?!?!? Did the developers give any clues to that?
One of the tutorial characters mentions the 'Nether Spreader' structures making the air breathable for piglins.They're basically terraforming the overworld into the Nether, and that allows them to survive. You even see the little ones wearing steampunk looking gas masks sometimes!

Yes. Games are expensive to create. Minecraft has spoiled us by being a £15 game you can play infinitely with free updates.
Full-price console games are £60 these days, Minecraft Legends is in the middle and I think it's a fair price.

Honestly Pixlriffs, I love you and all of the other CZcamsrs out there in the Minecraft community, and I understand that you guys get early access to games for promotional reasons. But as a gamer I cant help but say that videos like this only promote and fosters a spirit of piracy. When people see a video telling them how to get diamonds in a game thats not even released yet, the first thought they have is to get early access to the game themselves. In most cases an individual only has to search for a short time until they find a link to the game leaked in some way, shape or form and in a lot of cases games like this do have pirated, "leaked" versions for some platform or another. I really think that this trend that dev's do to promote hype, really only fosters a spirit of jealousy and piracy. It doesn't really make people happy either to have their CZcams homepage filled with videos entitled "How To Find Diamonds In Minecraft Legends" weeks before the games actual release date.
Voice acting is done bad... the voice actors or the echoeness of it or both im not sure. hope theres a way to ajust the amount of it or get rid of it all together, other than that game looks spectacular. Nice video!
Well, keep in mind that the voiced characters are supposed to be etherial/otherworldly god-types operating from an adjacent dimension...that's why the echoiness.
@@VulpisFoxfire i understand all that. i dont find them enjoying to listen to. too overwhelming and sound too bossy. i know its first level only that we saw, so it may just be for tutorial and what not.. and wont efect multiplayer at all most likely

@@casbrowne9055 What is your point? I'm not hating on the game I'm just saying these games have a lot more in terms of mobs and what not versus the base Minecraft game. So I'm not entirely sure why you would say "It just came out" that doesn't reflect on the base Minecraft game and has nothing to do with what I said.
Yeah, i would love seeing all these mobs, blocks, plants and gear from all these spin-offs, would be fun. They will probably add only a few things every few updates like they added the glowsquid, though.
