- Did you just buy the Amazfit Balance (GTR 5)? Now you have to customize it and make it yours! There are a lot of things that you can adjust but some of them are a little hard to find. In this video, I will show you how to customize everything and go through all the important settings. I will show you how to adjust the settings on the watch and on your phone through the Zepp app.

Nice walk thru. How about a video on any interesting apps they may have. I haven't found many good ones.
I just went through app list. Most are very basic, like lists, water reminders that are mostly stand alone. I did not see any that add significantly to the experience. Also, I previously downloaded one that almost locked my watch...
Good news is that most are free.
I will keep checking then and if a really beneficial app gets added, I will include it in a video.

Brilliant video, I was wondering if you know a way to skip forward audio that is playing on the watch at all? Currently only able to skip to next track, which is fine for music, but frustrating for long podcasts.
Yes, you can only skip tracks. It seems it would be easy to add a press and hold feature to fast forward but it is not available now. Sorry, I dont have a work around.

Not that I know of. If you are playing music with spotify on your phone you can control it with the watch but you need the phone.
Great review. Thanks! I have had the watch since November 2023. Recently, I have had medical issues, and was wondering if you know if the watch has emergency SOS notifications like the Apple Watch, where you can call emergency services and text individuals when a fall incident occurs. I can't seem to find anything in the settings that allows me to setup emergency contacts. I love the watch and battery life. But may have to switch to an Apple watch for this feature.
Sorry to hear.
There is no fall detection or SOS feature with any Amazfit watches (as far as I know). The only thing you can do is add a "top contact" which could be a few of your emergency contacts. In the Zepp app click on your watch in the profile page of app.
Then click on the phone app, then at bottom will be the top contacts, click add.
If you dont have the money or dont want to spend it on an Apple watch, you can check out the new Samsung Fit 3 that I am reviewing now. It has fall detection and an SOS feature and it is only $69.

Hi, I have been watching your Amazfit Balance videos and I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. The silver bezel around the screen, is it part of the watch body or is it actually part of the screen and made from the screen glass? also, if using an iPhone, are the text messages available from all apps, like Facebook messenger, watsapp, iMessage etc... Thank you in advance and I look forward to watching some more great videos.

anyway, no the silver bezel is not under the glass, part of the body.
I have not tested the Balance with the iphone but it should work like android phones. Which is- you will get notifications from all these apps that you can toggle on and off. But since you can not download these apps to the watch, you do not get any app functionality. Thanks for watching!
Great review sir. I used to have the T-Rex Pro and I didn't like it. It was too thick and I found also that it would count steps while moving my arm and not actually walking (lets say washing dishes for example). Do you find this one is more accurate? Also, how is the vibrate option on it. Strong enough to wake you up in the morning? Thank you!
I found the Amazfit balance to be accurate. I tested it against the Samsung watch 5 pro and watch 6 classic.
It's hard to say but I think the vibration motor will be enough to wake you. You can change the intensity but also you can make a customized pattern that can give a long vibration or many vibrations for the alarm.

Ejemplo: cuando terminas una actividad de ciclismo, en muchas aplicaciones tipo Strava se suele guardar con un nombre genérico parecido a;" paseo en bici", ese nombre lo puedes cambiar y ponerle el nombre que tú quieras: "subida dura al Monte mayor". Thanks for your videos, they are excellent. One question, when you do an activity, once it is saved, can you change the name to better identify it? Example: when you finish a cycling activity, in many Strava-type applications it is usually saved with a generic name similar to; "bike ride", you can change that name and give it the name you want: "hard climb to Monte Mayor" . Thank you
In the Zepp app you are not able to change names, but you can transfer/ share your data to a third party app like Strava, then you should be able to change name like you normally would in Strava.

Thanks. Does it work well with notifications ? If u read a msg on the watch, it is still unread on the samsung?
if you read it on watch, still shows up as unread on phone. remember no images in text and no keyboard to type a response, only preset quick responses.
Does the Alexa work with iPhone ? Can u control the HomeKit? Comparing this to the Garmin 165 which one would u prefer?

does it have a lot of free watch face? just got gtr 3 pro and it didnt have a lot of good watches unlike 1st gen GTR47mm. i immediately returned it due to its screen blurry than 1st gen GTR. i kinda want to buy balance its the biggest screen and sharpest screen.
I think the Balance is the best Amazfit right now. Screen is great. Amazfit says they have more than 200 watch faces. Last time I checked, about half of them are free, the others 1-3 dollars.
Great helpful review .When phone's screen is turned off .i can't control music with my watch .i tried it with a lot of different music players ...Secondly it has a very low speaker volume during calls ... I don't know maybe my watch has this problem ...can you help me out please 🙂
I have a few tips. when the screen is off, you can not control the music with the watch. If you are trying to control the music during a workout you can have the screen stay on during workout and then just swipe over to the music controller. To enable this, on the watch, in settings, display, scroll to the bottom, toggle "wake during workout" on.
For the phone, there are no settings you can change the voice volume unless you are on a phone call. once you get a call there is a volume icon in the middle, click on that and then you are able to adjust the volume and that should be your new default.

What was that you tried with "rotating the crown" ? The Amazfit Balance doesn't have a function that allows you to "rotate the crown" does it ?
I am not sure what you are referring to... But the Amazfit Balance does not have a rotating bezel (like Samsung watch 6 classic) but it does have rotating crown, the top button. It works perfectly!
when I press the upper right button, it opens the app view, but its little bit different like there is no list view, but bunch of different apps at once
On the watch, Go to settings, preferences, scroll down to app view. Then you have 2 choices, list or grid. Let me know if that works.
Is Zepp flow only Alvin Europe ?
I can only say for certain that it is available in US. but this was made available on the Amazfit Balance by a software update a few months after this video was published.
How do you access the maps that are downloaded?
You have to download from the Zepp app, find maps app. Your location should be already loaded but you can find another one. Click download, then your watch will automatically let you know there are maps available. You have to download these maps using your wifi, so wifi has to be already set up on your watch.
Then go to maps app on the watch. GPS will lock and show you where you are, but the maps are basic.
If you were talking about your GPX files, then go to workout section of the Zepp app (along the bottom), then scroll to bottom, under "more" section, click on "my routes". Then you will see all your downloaded GPX files. Hope that helps!
I am in USA and not able to see Zepp pay option where I can add payment/credit cards. Is it just me or anyone else too?
Zepp pay only active in a few countries, not the US. It's not just you... This time 😊

Last time I checked you couldn't. I am away right now but will check when I get back to make sure it was not added in a software update
there is no pre installed camera app on the Amazfit Balance. You can add one from the Zepp which directs you to download a new camera app for your phone for $2.49. as of now the app has no reviews. I did not want to add it- something seems off...but if you are more adventurous let me know.
Could uninstall alexa?
No you cant uninstall Alexa. But you can hide it from your short cuts and you can change it from the default so that when you press and hold the top button something other than Alexa activates. It does not show up in your app list on the watch.
