Gallagher's First Video: • Older RESCUE HORSE get...
[Courtesy of Wikipedia] The Belgian Warmblood is a Belgian breed of warmblood sport horse. It is bred for dressage, for show-jumping and for three-day eventing. It is one of three Belgian warmblood breeds or stud-books, the others being the Zangersheide and the Belgian Sport Horse - to which it is quite similar.
RISING STARR HORSE RESCUE saves, rehabilitates, retrains and rehomes abandoned, neglected or abused horses and educate about at-risk horses and the importance of protecting them.
By giving America's horses a second chance at life we give the community the chance to experience the love, patience and compassion horses have for humans.
When Kelly Stackpole decided to open her barn to teach noncompetitive horse lessons in 2005, her goal was to bring her passion and love for these incredible animals to others and guide them toward finding a similar love and connection to horses. She did not expect, while looking for horses to fill her barn, to discover that young, sound and healthy horses as well as older horses were being disregarded and often sent off to slaughter. As soon as she became aware that any of the animals beloved to her were not treated in a humane way, she found another mission, and Rising Starr Horse Rescue was born.
Rising Starr relies on a group of talented and specialized veterinarians, chiropractors, staff, and volunteers who work together to approach each horse’s rehabilitation. This team of dedicated individuals ensures that every horse becomes healthy, happy, and confident before moving on to its new home.

I love how you talk to those beautiful horses like they are people..... maybe they are.... that understand what you say....thank you ...love your gentle approach. 🙋
Hi Gail, words are not that important,
he understands more my body language.
Thank you for leaving a comment,
glad you could watch this one.
They definitely think that they are people!"
Each has their own personality if they will show it to you. and their emotions can be intense and their bonds very deep. When several live together in a pasture their social interactions can be complex, all just like us!💕
Gallagher is an absolutely magnificent horse. I’m glad you were able to provide some relief for him.
Us too!
Gallagher is so smart. He really took time to take in what was happening. Thank you Dr, for you kindness and expertise 💛
Thank you Jenny for watching and leaving a comment, I appreciate 🙏🏻
When you stretched his leg he had this look like, “Well that’s weird. No one has done that to me before.” I love his whiskers.
Thanks Beth, glad you could watch this one.
He is a handsome boy! His coat and everything looks shiny, he looks healthy and well cared for. Love this horse!
He seems wise. He did really well with the bale. He's a very beautiful horse.
Yes the bale was no problem for him.
Thanks for the comment.
What a good boy he is; gentle and relaxed, sweet eyes, and he is a very handsome horse! Dr. Doug, I could hear almost every adjustment you did on him, and it was very satisfying to see his positive reaction to everything you did. Excellent! 😊🐎
Gallagher seems really happy with his adjustments. Thanks Dr. Doug.
Thank you Kim.
I love the way Gallagher looks at you doc after an adjustment like he is actually processing and connecting you with the good feels he is experiencing.
Love how you get in tune and connect with your animal patients. Fun to watch. Blessings.
awww thanks Leilani,
I’m grateful to work with horses
I love them, I love all animals.
What a beautiful horse. He was calling all his friends " hey yall this guy is grrrreat." Thanks Dr Doug for all you do for the animals.
Thank you so much Beth, glad you could watch this one, yes he called his friends a few times certainly to say „Hey leave me some hay“, haha!
Gallagher was very vocal after his adjustments. Lots of integrations with the licking and chewing and that one crack was loud. I’ve video! 🐶💯
Yes,, he was vocal!
Thanks Calvin!
Gallagher is lovely (so were the Doc & Sam!)
10:25 when he starts chewing the bale pretty hard!
“He just let out a little flatulence, that’s always nice😂”
There’s a lot of cracks & crunches for an animal video.
Hey Gallagher, every good wish for your future. We loved you.
Thank you so much Vaga! It always makes me smile when you find the humorous moments!
Grateful to you!
Gallagher, you handsome boy!
Hi Rachel!
What a lovely soft eye he has. He’s in incredible shape for such a big boy at his age. They obviously manage him well.
Gallagher is a fine, intelligent fellow. I liked the way he looked at Doug like, “What the heck, dude?” after almost every adjustment.
Thank you Susie.
He felt better and relaxed you could tell as he kept his head lowered and not a high up head!
Nice job Willen.... could hear the clicks
Thanks Freeman…good clicks!
Thank you for helping to alleviate pain for these beautiful animals. I am a subscriber and can't wait for more!
What a beauty! Thanks for showing us how you helped Gallagher.
Loved his facial expressions through the whole video. He seemed mad after each adjustment but couldn't be sure if you meant him harm. Like he was all *POP* "What the heck dude?" 😂
Hi ! thank you for watching and leaving a comment, I appreciate.
You could SEE that last (as ilium?) alignment! WOW the relief that must have felt like. So happy you’re helping them!
Thanks Tiffany

Awww thank you Amy, that’s so kind of you.
Dr Willen, Gallagher is very handsome, he has the perfect 👌color and didn’t give you a hard time. He was chewing on the box that you stand on, I’ve heard some of those adjustments, they were loud and of course you did an awesome 👏job on him. Have a nice 👍week doc
Oh thank you, Emma. Looking forward to seeing you both. Are you coming to the office party Friday night?
He really needed that adjustment. Thanks Doc!
I love when you adjust the horses. I k ow they love it too ♥️. God bless!
Love seeing someone take care of some of these horses that have had hard and abused lives! Gallagher is an exception he looks very well taken care of for his age, thank you for sharing Dr. Doug!
That’s true, Gallagher is considering his age in good health. Thank you for watching, I appreciate your support Anna.
Delightful. I get so fascinated that the time flies by and it's over. Love and light.
awww, thanks Danny, I'm glad you enjoyed this one!
Lovely calm video to start the day! Interesting that gentle manipulations and massage do so much good as well as the bigger ones. Gallagher had much to say ☺️…Thanks for uploading!
You're welcome 😊
Thanks Sabine
He's in excellent condition for his age and well muscled. After you treated him he just seemed to glide around fluidly and loosely. All good things to see. Just a lovely horse.
Yes, he really is lovely!
I love these videos so much, they have really gotten me interested in animal chiropractic. You are such a kind person, and very educational. At 12:25 it looked like Gallagher wanted a staring contest lol hope you continue making more content and stay safe.
Awww thanks for the nice words Huan! Grateful for your support.
In your description of your video you say...from "hoof to poll " what a great title for a book ?!!
Interesting reactions from Gallagher all the way through , he is a stunning horse for a senior.
Great video as always Dr Doug .
That is a good idea for a title! Maybe one day...
Thanks Elaine!
So good to see the two way love

Good looking horse..thx Doc👍😁
Thanks Brenda! 🙏🏻👍🏼
Beautiful
Yes, gorgeous horse.
Gallagher had a lot to say!
I think he was reacting to lots of those adjustments lots of licking and chewing and head shaking. I could hear some of those cracks. I bet they like when you do things for their feet (hooves) that is a lot of weight on them.
Thank you Dr Doug,he is beautiful
Thanks Barbara!!!
Love you comments. Always!
Doc

É muito bom os vídeos de chiropracto equine é o que eu mais gosto.
Hi Doc, Gallagher is very majestic 💪.
I don't know what they feed these Guys , but there Coats sort of Shiner👍.
You gave Him a hell of a work up Today 👏.
JO JO IN VT 💕😄☃
Thanks 👍 Jo Jo!!!!
The horse listens better than the girls... "Sam? You can move over here... Sam? MOVE over HERE... Sam, don't pet him... Sam? DON'T TOUCH HIM...Sam, SAM!?!"
"Okay, you can move the camera on this side... Come OVER HERE with the camera... I'm going to the other side, FOLLOW ME WITH THE CAMERA..."
I love it
So glad!
What a beautiful horse with a sweet personality. I think his whole demeanor changed after his adjustments. He looked more alert when you were done. Do you make any of that collegen stuff for humans?
This horse is such a beauty, I love him, so sweet and calm, was a pleasure to work with him. Thank you for leaving a comment.
He’s Frank Gallagher definitely has a lot of personality 😂
Hi! 👍🏼
I thought he was going to chew on your hand there for a sec…
Hi Debbie, no worries, I‘m sure he was not interested in chewing on my hand.
❤️
💕
Hi Boo! thanks for watching.
@@AnimalCrackerDrDougWillen I'm always here Doc. Just short on words lately
Arabs have 17 Doc. LOL 😂 One less. Best Regards and Stay Safe Everyone!! 💖 From Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 💖 🇨🇦 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Thanks Jenn, greetings to Ontario Canada.
👍👍👍👍👍
It sounded like the popping noise was added in post.... good video regardless
Gallagher looks much more present and softer friendlier eyes. I wonder if his teeth need treatment, I noticed he held his jaw a little funny/loose. He seems much more relaxed after his session, nice!
Hi Kathleen, thanks for your comment, when a horse hold his inferior jaw a little loose it is a sign of relaxation.
@@AnimalCrackerDrDougWillen Thanks Dr. Doug!
I remember a couple weeks ago Wanda was distracted, as well. They both look over at the same place. Would having add’l horses in the lot be less distracting for the horse being worked on? Plus they give your their total attention.
Not so sure, it depends on the horse
some are less distracted,
some are more distracted,
thanks for the comment.
They’re just a little overly bonded with their buddies. That’s all. Some horses call their buddies when separated more than others do.
❤🧡💙💜
👍🏼🙏🏻
He must have done lots of horses on the same day. Notice the clothes.
Arabians have 17 Thorasic Vertebrea
Watch your back Doc. No hurt yourself.
No worries, I do watch. ☺️
💜💙💚💛🧡❤
Thanks 🙏🏻
Hooves in front too long. Lovely horse.
Thank you for all your comments.
Hi Stevi, if I may I would like to exchange myself with you on the topic hooves! In your comment which suggests that Gallagher has hooves that are too long in the front as it is written.
First of all, if horses have something too long on their hooves then it is called the toe.
Secondly, it might be true, but honestly, what should Doc do with such a comment? He is a chiropractor, not a farrier.
Thirdly, I doubt that this video can be used to diagnose the condition of the hooves. You can only see the hooves more closely when Doc scrapes them and checks them. To make such a diagnosis, you would have to observe the horse in its entirety, how he stands, how he walks, as Gallagher is a large horse, he needs in the relativity large hooves.
I have to assume that you either have eagle eyes and/or are a professional farrier with more than 20 years of experience in the profession to observe and make such a serious diagnosis. No offense but I felt such a comment was out of place. I think the community is not there to criticize but to support Doc and share our experiences. What makes me sorry is that you wrote except this one such nice comments. That made me a little bit sad. Thank you
Sir I am curious why was he neighing in between.. Was that the sign of something
He is a little herd bound. Horses sometimes do that (vocalize, which horse people call “calling“) when they’re separated from their buddies, some more than others.
In his daily life he’s probably not apart from them very often. But he noticed them moving around in the distance. Horses have great long-distance eyesight, and he was letting them know that he was there.
Give Gallagher some watermelon for being so good
Awww good idea!
