How was this comment posted 2 days ago when the video's only been up an hour?
I enjoyed "What's Your Favorite Season"
Wasn't in but we can't win them all.
My Favourite also wasn't in. It was Alex's rendition of Lovely Day
We so need a part 2 to this! Come on Channel 4,stop giving us weirdos like Alan Carr and put the scent stuff in
Baker street!
As a Canadian, I’m convinced UK tv is just a couple dozen shows with the same 15 or so comedians in all of them
It is
Same, but also don't have a problem with it.
Pretty much and that’s why I love it, you get a homely feel when you switch from 8 out of ten cats does countdown to Big fat quiz of the year to qi to taskmaster and so on. And see all the familiar faces you love on different shows. Makes you really feel like apart of a community.
Shows like this are side-gig hash-up conventions for comedians who have or have had their own shows, so i can see how it feels that way.
Thats because all of those shows use comedians signed up to talent company Avalon. As a comedian if you sign with them you get to appear on all these shows and increase your visibility.
Sometimes I think that Alex's brain and his mouth aren't connected, what with how often he seems genuinely surprised by what he says 😂
"I have a cat that was once owned by Dali."
Look up his lip syncing stand-up bit and you'll see just how disconnected his mouth and brain can really get 🤣
His eyes look like they are asking for help
“Johnnnnn.... my friennnd”
Like when Greg Davies asks him what his most boastful object is and he replies “I have a cat that was formerly owned by Dali… two things: I didn’t know you were going to ask that and *I* didn’t know I was going to *say* that”
That No 'L' thing is just too good... Please more horn section...
That and the national front/national trust joke absolutely slayed me.
My thoughts: “He forgot the L!... ohhhhhh”
I don't get the joke. Is it a British thing or am I just stupid?
@@Alicat231999 There's a Christmas carol called The First Noel that he's singing in the tune of. He misses the L in the alphabet he sings so there is no L. You have to say it outloud for it to make sense.
How can it be "too" good?
He just doesn't look right sat next to anyone other than Greg Davies.
The funny thing is that he is the actual owner of that show
Like Reggie Watts
They need Alex and Greg as a team on cats countdown!
At least he has his eggs.
@@warsap9299 More like they need an Alex and Greg combo on Big Fat Quiz of the Year
I bloody LOVE that bit at the beginning. "....the jazz ensemble that was once described.". The amount of times Alex Horne has made me laugh my ass off is ridiculous!
Amen! Laugh out loud every time I see it, and incredibly clever!
That he can sit so comfortably with complete silence of waiting for someone to laugh and stay completely in character.
I've also seen this man's ass way too many times in Taskmaster
He is so clever in every way and an amazing musician Comedian and creator Taskmaster is the best show and he started it by just sending tasks to his comedian friends to do before it go picked up 😊
The comedic timing of this man is off the charts
Just at 0:30, the fact that everyone laughed at the silence at the same time shows how good his timing is.
So is his music.
It's really on display in Taskmaster
that's why he is a comedian, don't you reckon?
Alex is a genius. That simple
..."IT'S THE HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE VEHICLLLLLLLLLLE!!" ...OMG I'm DYIN' here :)
Big Bill Wurtz vibes on that one
Had me crying 🤣
@@kimiyamkYOURE SO RIGHT
The National Front - National Trust joke is still, and always will be one of the funniest things ever said
Can you explain it to me please?
@@neptunestardust The National Trust is a charity that looks after places of historical interest or natural beauty, while the National Front is a far right, fascist political party. To get them confused is pretty ridiculous
AngusMitchell oh okay thank you very much😂
AngusMitchell and it was funny since the bloke had a skinhead 😂
Nikki Barrett HAPPY NOW???
This is Pedro, he doesn’t speak much English... he’s from Birmingham..
I’ve seen this 10x and it still makes me laugh.
The intelligible chart is tied to latitude in the UK. Birmingham is only mid-latitude so people make medium sense. The only reason he didnt go as high as Liverpool or Manchester is because they wouldn't understand the joke ;) Go as high as Scotland and the UK just throws a divide by zero.
The no L bit was hilarious. You can see him concentrating to NOT say it by accident, unconsciously
Pretty sure you mean subconsciously
Pretty sure they dont
no~el totally caught me off guard 💂♂️ 😂 🤣
"And oh LOOK It's *LITTLE ALEX HORNE* "
Honestly, you could just have them on every episode. Like a house band.
Xensonar that would be amazing!!
Honestly? Why would it be a lie?
@@swanningabout It's a figure of speech.
And if they can't play some nights, Brett Domino Trio can sub for a bit
Eh. I got pretty tired of it by the Chris Hoy song. Plus if it was every episode itd feel like watching those late night shows like Jimmy kimmel or some shit. Blegh
If they just played the typical theme, sure, but what a boring job for them, then :/
"What was once described" is the greatest punchline for a comedian's comedian that comedy has had in a long time.
From now on I’m introducing myself as “a former child” 😝
Do you also have a star sign?
lol Me too. And also add that I was once described
"Ex-child, former teenager and soon-to-be adult."
Somewhere in the cosmos Sigmund Freud is laughing in his sleeve.
“Will, the bassist, short for Willip” Lol 😂
i think that is his real name, Willip Collier
Before I knew about Taskmaster, I wasn't sure about Alex Horne and his band whenever they appeared on this show. Now that I've gotten to know and understand Alex's humor by watching Taskmaster, I've enjoyed these clips like I never have before. Thank you Alex Horne for being so awkward!
My sentiments exactly
Oh man am I the opposite. This shit was always gold to me and then taskmaster?!
Same!
Since taskmaster, I notice him in the occasional older episode of various panel shows....talented dude.
Taskmaster is pretty shit tbf.
That Pedro guy can actually sing pretty well
Omg I know! He's actually really good, I wish I could get some info on his music
(6.40) Wonder what part of Birmingham he's from?
6:43
@@exessex3522 His real name's Pete Grogan apparently.
He does kinda look Spanish
"The Jazz ensemble that was once described......"
I don't get it, is this an English joke?
@@BARUtubbig No, maybe you're just dumb
@@BARUtubbig Reasonably you'd say something like: "The Jazz ensemble that was once described as ", usually to laud them. When he shortens it, it just means that one time a dude described the ensemble.
@@DrZaius3141 ah that's what I thought already. Thought I missed some sort of English wordplay there.
@@BARUtubbig ah, you thought right.
3:50 I like when he skipped L Sean's expression goes very slightly confused
*iTs LiTtLe AlEx HoRnE*
It's his whole ass Instagram name now
the henry hoover song just bangs doesnt it
No, it sucks!
What?
Should be Xmas No.1
nimesh0775 absolutely
Sounded like something out of The Boosh
i love it when a jazz band gets described.
Every time a jazz band is described, a bassist gets his strings
Alex is the master of the anti joke.
No L and National Front are timeless classics
*the national front definitely isn't a timeless classic*
The musical "comedy" and the puns are cringeingly unfunny.
@@cockoffgewgle4993ok.
@@cockoffgewgle4993 And yet, here you are.
I genuinely shouted you missed the letter L. Then “No L” had me crying
Same!
He looks like an accountant, but everything he says is the funniest stuff I've ever heard.
As an accountant, I too wish I were funnier
Now that Taskmaster has moved to Channel 4, can we please have 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown does Taskmaster? 🤣
I didn't know it had moved
oh gods please no! If Cats did taskmaster, Carr would be the taskmaster and I have less than no desire to see that.
Tamashi88 oh I very much doubt he would. It’s about time we saw Jimmy doing something other than hosting (apart from QI), isn't it?
@@xtrapolis954m would love him as a contestant on Taskmaster but not some crossover thing like Cats does Countdown. Because then it's *cats* doing something which is why the regular countdown host isn't the one hosting Cats does Countdown. And as Greg is as close to a Host as Taskmaster gets, that would be Jimmy's role.
They''d also have to figure out a Taskmaster Role for Sean and Jon. I can't see either of them as a Taskmaster's Assistant, can you? But Taskmaster doesn't have 'teams' outside of the Team Tasks.
So, while I loved Jon on the show, and would like to see - or wouldn't be against seeing - Sean and Jimmy on the show I have absolutely no desire for a Cats does Taskmaster.
@@Tamashi88 nah hed just be a contestant. Him rachel Suzy sean and the little one.
Love Alex, he's so low key hilarious. I'm so grateful he came up with Taskmaster, it's been cheering me up throughout this shitty year that is 2020
Same
Taskmaster is a genius programme. Thinking out of the box or going the straight way.
Sampled some of the tasks and 'lack of rules' for my own event and the participants loved it. Challenging and thinking at the same time
How did I not see No L coming! 🤦♀️
You say that and I literally out loud went wait I think they missed L and didn't catch it lmao
@@ej1493 I did the same thing! I laughed like, “oh, he forgot the L!” And then the damn chorus and I laughed even harder!!
@@kaylawheezy just such a perfect delivery. Series 11 of task master and jamedi (thats probably definitely off) calling him on his crap is hilarious if you haven't seen it.
Gave it a like for "Noel, Noel," which I saw coming, but not soon enough to get away.
'Chris Hoy loves a saveloy' is one of the funniest things ive ever seen. Its like they channeled Chas & Dave.
"the jazz ensemble that was once described" is such a brilliant gag in its simplicity. Love it
You 100% know that when the horn section was singing the alphabet and he didnt put in the L Sean was gonna say something smart and catch him out until they sang "no L"
The drum and bass part is unironically my favourite piece of d&b I've heard. And it's also great to see Susie smiling so widely
I wish he was in every show ever made. Can't get enough of this guys style of comedy
7:01 I have never been so quickly impressed by a singing sax man
I just hear his name in Greg Davies voice “it’s little Alex HoOrn!”
4:30 For my fellow Americans who may not get that joke:
The National Front is basically the British KKK
And the National Trust is a charity which manages historic buildings.
Of course, many of the great mansions of Britain were built with fortunes gained in colonialism and slave dealing, so the joke has a bit of a bite to it.
@@qwertyTRiG Most buildings they try to maintain are far older than that, such as castles and prehistoric sites.
Thank you for explaining that, I had no idea :)
Swiss guy says “thank you”
I got it from context anyway 🙃
He's THE example of dry British humour.
I like to call him the Pale Ayoade
@@widexawake_ Richard would never be anywhere near this animated
Only saw him on Taskmaster before and had no idea how funny and talented he really is!
He invented Taskmaster, and writes all the tasks.
Listen to his podcast with Richard herring
Watching Taskmaster is what made it clear to me that Alex is a comedic genius.
That no L bit is genuinely too funny for me to watch without pausing 😂
0:28 is actually so funny. Can’t believe I hadn’t heard that joke before
Why can't you believe it? Surely you are you....and know what you know...
It's one of my favourite jokes from him it was so brilliantly delivered
I like how everyone took precisely the same amount of time to realise the joke too lmao.
Definitely one of the best dictionary corner guests
“It’s a highway maintenance vehicleeeee” will always make me laugh
That National Front/National Trust bit 😂😂
Long overdue brilliantly funny
Some of these songs are actual jams that I would totally want on my Spotify playlist. Also, the egg song and the henry hoover song give me don't hug me I'm scared vibes and I love it. also the saveloy song is surprisingly such a jam tho cause it's more than just a repeated tune
To be honest, i think id like to see Jimmy on taskmaster. Him having to do ridiculous tasks, try to talk back to greg and get put down again lol. Id just have to get past his laugh
I've been trying to imagine David Mitchell on Taskmaster....
Need to see Susie and Rachel on there too!
@@jeffhoward162 David is a must, hope he goes on it one day
Jimmy would be better for a treat episode methinks than a whole series.
@@jeffhoward162 Unfortunately, he'd likely be boring. His strength is the banter, like Lee Mack, who was on and didn't really work in that format.
I watch Taskmaster like a maniac, can''t get enough of it. I never realized that Alex is a funny guy all on his own. Fabulous!!
To be fair Alex writes most of TM. He does most the tasks and I think he is one of the main script writers for it too.
@@cthulhu5717He leverage a commandeering and terrifying character of Greg Davies. He know that a Greg character would make TM good with contrast of awkward character he play.
TM schtick rely on this, and If any adaptation fail this. It would not be a great TM.
For American version, set aside participant or narration nature of it. The taskmaster is a nice person who is not commandeering enough and talk less so Alex horne have to pretty much carry the show which is a bad formula so for only this fact that would be bad TM. And then you count everything I set aside it become a extra shit show that fail miserably.
Genuinely one of the most original and innovative brains in comedy ever
Probably my second favorite dictionary corner guest, behind Greg Davies
Peter Serafinowicz was hilarious 🤣
Behind Greg Davies? Usually he's next to him.
Need more Pedro. That no back story abbreviated song was awesome!
HOW DO THE HORNE SECTION KEEP THEIR FACES STRAIGHT THE WHOLE TIME 😂😂😂
How come I've only seen one clip before? These guys are hilarious. We think your laugh is F Sharp
The unexpected major finish of "Highway Maintenance Vehicle" is pure, pure genius.
I've only known Alex for taskmaster. I didn't know he had a band/could sing... I need more😆
You should check out the Horne section podcast, the man is a genius!
The intro song of Taskmaster is by the Horne Section :)
I wouldnt say he could sing.....
Note: im not dissing alex or his band im just saying ( and hes said it himself) that he isnt the best singer
@@Orangecatinahoodie I mean it depends on how one defines an ability, really. Is singing ability only judged by vocals when singing? What about the delivery? The performance? For this kind of satirical or comedic songs, having the voice of an angel would surely ruin it!
@@Amaneuclosis i personally meant the way you would judge a singer professionally, but i do agree with you on the fact that just because you can sing well does not make it entertaining, Alex’s performances are funny and enjoyable for me
Alex Horne has one of the sharpest minds in comedy right now
I like that the shirt Alex wore on actual countdown in the picture at 2:06 reappeared at 12:57, it’s a good shirt.
I like how they just have like 6 people sat in a corner essentially
The Chris Hoy song sounds like it should be a opening theme for a show. It's also stuck in my head.
Forgot that he genuinely does other things and is a fully realized comedian outside of the taskmasters severely underrated and abused assistant
Why can he properly rap though? He's the most unassuming rap-god I've ever witnessed!
Lot of folks wondering about Pedro, he is Pete Grogan - one of the two saxophonists with the amazing jazz group Led Bib
Why was the Henry hoover song a fucking banger? And why has no one noticed this
He looks younger here and more chill outside of taskmaster
7:00 he actually does have a good voice, in all fairness
These guys are there to take a piss, but they are absolutely amazing musicians
I love how Whillip in the background of the "Alex, you were on actual Countdown" just barely keeps character
The Henry Hoover song lives in my head, rent-free.
Same! I think I drive my husband a little nuts because I sing it so often.
That 'Chris Hoy Loves a Saveloy' song is something I could see Bob Mortimer doing back in the day.
This man's talent knows no bounds.
after discovering taskmaster on CZcams last month i have fallen completely in love with little alex horne and it makes me so happy to see him on another show i love
Been waiting for this for a while. Dryness incarnate.
My favourite moment of them is the "Baker Street fits into any song" bit
He's still so underrated! Love him
I never wanted this video to end. Who knew little Alex Horne would be this hilarious!
shame you missed out the zumba class, that was a classic moment
charltonchris74 I also liked the seasons song
I still love that Xmas carol, perfect song to sing around the holiday season.
Your family is lucky then, mine are going to be hearing about Britain's preeminent cyclist's admiration for processed meat. HOy HOy HOy!
Iiiiiiiiiiit’s… LITTLE ALEX HOOOOOORNE
That "Chris Hoy loves a Saveloy" song has been stuck in my head for weeks. And this is not a complaint.
Alex Horne is such a brilliant Brit! Sooo talented & unique! He & Greg are two peas in a pod literally!
Pedro the sax player looks like Jordan Schlansky
Alex Horne and Taskmaster got me into British T.V - it's really quite good.
Jimmy Carr's laughter sounds like a hoover not starting to run properly.
Perhaps I’m the only person in the western world who hasn’t seen Taskmaster, but I love Alex and his band’s original good-natured humour. Lee Mack looks genuinely impressed.
Not sure if you've seen it in the past 7 months, but if you haven't, you REALLY should watch it. The first 12 seasons are free on CZcams
0:28 is still the funniest part. 😂
Countdown DnB actually slaps.
my first experience with henry hoover was going to the UK for a few days with college, staying in a very sketchy hotel in birmingham, everyone drunk off their ass, and then someone found one in a closet and everyone just lost their minds over how funny we thought it was, i had no idea it was a brand or anything, we just thought that specific hotel had some fun with a vaccuum and put eyes on it, but apparently its a real thing
Yep, henry is a national hero. however harry hoover and henrietta hoover are frauds
@@pinkkam They're also competitors with Hoover. So he's definitely not called Henry Hoover.
That Highway maintenance one is spot on 👌😂
Yknow I never see any of these clips on other compilations and I think that’s a damn shame because there’s some real gold here
When he offered to sing a Carol, I just expected him to just start singing "Vorderman".
All of this - just wtf. I love it
Wow, i actually have never seen any of the clips in this compilation, and i watched a lot of compilations
I'd very much love to see Jimmy, Rachel, Suzie, Jon, and Joe Wilkinson together for a series in Taskmaster.
Considering Joe and Jon have already had a go you'd probably only manage to get the Christmas special if anything.
@@dellavie4319 That would be lovely too.
Pretty sure the taskmaster people loathe Rachel for being a bit of a weirdo neolib about the corbyn years
she went a bit too heavily aggressively political
So that Pedro guy,, kickass voice, rocks the sax and rugged good looks? Life's not fair.
"Ben Reynolds the lonely drummer whose got a star sign" 😂😂
I still regularly think of "highway maintenance vehicle" and "No L"
I got a CZcams advert for Glenfiidich Scottish Whisky when it went to the Scottish advert bit. Perfect timing.
Alex Horne and the Horn Section is one of the best Dictionary Corner guests.
