As the American Voiceover actor for Bill, I just want to say thanks for all the appreciation from you viewers. It took a lot of time and effort for both the original Italian production and the American voiceover version to be finished, hours of retakes of American voices trying to match Italian lip movements while saying different words, sometimes down to the 1/1000 of a second. For a project that didn't have a very high budget, this is pretty good. I still love how people are still watching this, and it shows just how dedicated the L4D community is.
This was made by people who both understand and love the game, a rare gem of video game adaptations done right! Thank you guys for this great film, wish I knew about it sooner
now that's something i can agree with it's basically a love letter to the fans as it you can identify everything slowly and wating for the game moments for example the i hate everything which all of those are done with great pacing as the foreshadowing might eb a little be obvious but it also adds great fictional lore to the series which is alway's welcomed my favorite one was the smoker one s ince it went so natural as well as the boomer one what an amazing job

I love the way the special infected are introduced in this so much. And the way all the survivor backstories are introduced just as their described in the games. Mad love for this 6 years later.
The dubbing is a tad iffy at times, the voices often don’t fit the tone and you can hear the echo a lot, but I’m 5 minutes in and already loving the film. For an independent film, I can see love was put into it to make this a good film and to respect the source material.
It’s also not canon with how the virus was brought to light for them; in retro spect in the official comic this is how they found out Zoey - mom got bit while having dinner with the family, father was killed by Zoey before he could turn Luis - taking a shit in the stall then attacked by a zombie, he fought the zombie, ran out of the bathroom and looked out the window Francis - bit by a girl he was about to have sex with outside the bar, he went on the roof and shot a bunch of zombies with music blaring in the background with his friends Bill (most badass) - about to be put under for surgery and told to count down, about to pass out, got to 7 and a zombie attacked the doctors, he got up and fought the zombie, grabbed a bone saw covered himself in a blanket and ran home to get his army uniform on I guess Francis’ way of finding out abt it was the most accurate; or zoeys but I like the way they introduced the different types of zombies in the beginning and you could tell who’s gonna become who, the hunter being zoeys bf, smoker being the random person by Luis’ job, and the bartender literally turning to a boomer infront of him
The film was made in Italian as that is where Mexican Standoff is. We voiceover actors (I'm the voice of Bill) had a translated Italian to English script to work from, that is why the dub isn't exactly synced. We did the best we could considering it was a completely different language. :}

As a veteran Left 4 Dead 2 player, I'm amazed at the level of effort and attention to detail you've put into this. Although it is a little slow, it's still easily the best fanmade film I've ever seen. Congratulations to all those involved on a job well done.
Especially all the little things - the flashlight taped to the Mini-Uzi, the pipe bomb, reference to Burger Town, as well as keeping mostly true to the backstory

They have gone through a lot of issues : Financial, Casting, Productions, etc. They really put 200% effort on this film which is NON-PROFIT. After 7 years of making it, right now... Here they are. as another left 4 dead fan, i disagree with you. boomer and tank were appearantly really hard to get done, i can forgive them that really easily. dark nights were too dark, but i could see it all on my screen and easily forgive that. story? well i m not even used to l3d having more story than ''wut? infection? teammates vs zombies? kill all sons of bitches, that s my official instructions'' so i enjoyed this story.

I was the voice actor for Gordon. I am seeing a lot of hate towards us voice actors in the this thread. Here's the deal with you haters...j want you to show me what you've created and/or voice acted in . This isn't Hollywood , this is fan made for fans. Other fan flicks can't compete with this one. Some may say it's bad voice acting...but when your given lines on paper and you see footage without seeing the whole picture, it's a lot harder than you think . We are all professionals , the voice actors and actors , we understand that everyone isn't going to like it but, this was an awesome project that I am very proud to be apart of :-) Thanks you to everyone for your support on this movie ! - Jack Saint
The hate/criticism mostly comes from bad audio sync as well as the lines read came out slightly slowly as though someone were reading it, but I believe it was fairly well made for an indie movie. Although, if you want to continue through film production. It'd be best to drop the "what have you done that's better?" mentality as it just draws more hate and criticism. It's also not a very valid point overall as plenty of film critics have never made a film before and are well revered. It also shouldn't matter if you can see the full picture or not to voice act. While it is a nice guideline to portray more feeling/depth into a character. It is not required to have nice clear lines that flow. Now while the film was not the most accurate to game/comic representation. It's the best I've seen in live action thus far. Also, where the fuck would you rent time to shoot in a bloody hospital anyway? So I believe the lack of actual game/comic location isn't by choice most likely and is just the fact that it would be hard to portray any one location that was actually from the game/comic. I'm actually quite amazed that you got a school location to shoot in.

Making something "better" is subjective. There's no way for a person to tell if they made something "better" because what they make is probably going to be perceived as better. The reason that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" was made as an expression.

They had problems with the set locations and were forced to shoot during daytime, having to put a 'night time' filter over the footage they took. It was due to the restrictions they had from having nearly no budget. It's actually far better than some zombie 'movies' I've seen that have won indie horror film festivals
I remember when this film was first announced, and I finally sat down to watch it today. Amazing work, you can definitely tell that love for the game shines through in almost every facet. Bravo!

If this was a big budget industry film, i would be a little disappointed. But it isn't. It's from an independent studio and for such a small group to put years of work into this project and despite the setback they pulled through. I think what you guys did was amazing. You made use of the resources you had and made a film, a project you cared for and love. We all respect that. On the other hand it's a shame that this channel is only known for its L4D movie... I can see potential with this channel to grow. I see the move you guys made with this, a project to put yourselves on the map. Tho it seems to have failed.

haven't watched the movie yet but at the start i think, him putting on the black hoodie and staring at zoey foreshadows him becoming the hunter that we see in zoeys nightmare. And the bite mark on his arm also proves this.
Those who disliked that and hated it, just try to imagine making a 50 minute movie with a budget that comes from your bank account knowing that you won't even profit from that project. If you hate that movie, it means you hate hard work and passion, and if you hate hard work and passion, you are a loser. Btw I loved that movie, I was totally into it!

Review of the movie (Spoilers) Pros: -Good character introductions. The survivors, hunter, smoker, boomer. -Fine actor choice -A few good high quality scenes Cons: -Terrible night scenes (I couldn't see shit) It was either filmed literally at night or the scenes were toned down with terrible dark filter effect. -Bad CGI. Movie could have been better without CGI. The boomer could have been replaced with an actor using pillows under his shirt applied with a fake skin and make up to make it look infected. The tank CGI could have been replaced with a muscular strong tall guy as an actor and some simple make up could have been used to make it look infected. -Helicopter crash CGI totally ruined the movie. That was very silly and unrealistic. -Bad voice syncing. Final Score 4/10
Just don't forget the context. I fully agree with you for a commercial/professional project but we don't know how much time or resources they had since this was a non-profit one. Maybe the CGI option was their only way to go. And they were probably under pressure to release the movie after so many years. In the end they need their people and resources on projects that do help them to get money and survive.
It pains me saying this because i've been following this project for 4 years i think but your score it's completely right. I've seen better fan mades on source filmmaker, and even better live action shorts from people with even lower budget than Mexican Standoff. First No Man's Sky and then this. Please BioShock: The Collection, save my hype... Edit: and also, why the fuck did you put the tank in the movie if he was going to die like a little bitch? and at the end of every episode there's always an awedome horde mode, where the hell is that? and that's your casting choice for Francis? Great work! My only complaints is that the voice acting isn't the best and I feel it's too dark sometimes. Other than that, really good! Also Francis's voice gives me some serious Resident Evil 1 vibes.
Great job, seriously! But i think, it could have been alot more interesting to watch, if the entire movie was focused on the first days of outbreak. I'd like to see how our 4 heroes are actually made it to meet each other; how Zoey first reacted to her boyfriend mutated into the Hunter, etc. You know, all that things, what wasn't in the game. I was the voice actor for Gordon. I am seeing a lot of hate towards us voice actors in the this thread. Here's the deal with you haters...j want you to show me what you've created and/or voice acted in . This isn't Hollywood , this is fan made for fans. Other fan flicks can't compete with this one. Some may say it's bad voice acting...but when your given lines on paper and you see footage without seeing the whole picture, it's a lot harder than you think . We are all professionals , the voice actors and actors , we understand that everyone isn't going to like it but, this was an awesome project that I am very proud to be apart of :-)

The hate/criticism mostly comes from bad audio sync as well as the lines read came out slightly slowly as though someone were reading it, but I believe it was fairly well made for an indie movie. Although, if you want to continue through film production. It'd be best to drop the "what have you done that's better?" mentality as it just draws more hate and criticism. It's also not a very valid point overall as plenty of film critics have never made a film before and are well revered. It also shouldn't matter if you can see the full picture or not to voice act. While it is a nice guideline to portray more feeling/depth into a character. It is not required to have nice clear lines that flow. Now while the film was not the most accurate to game/comic representation. It's the best I've seen in live action thus far. Also, where the fuck would you rent time to shoot in a bloody hospital anyway? So I believe the lack of actual game/comic location isn't by choice most likely and is just the fact that it would be hard to portray any one location that was actually from the game/comic. I'm actually quite amazed that you got a school location to shoot in.

Making something "better" is subjective. There's no way for a person to tell if they made something "better" because what they make is probably going to be perceived as better. The reason that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" was made as an expression.

They had problems with the set locations and were forced to shoot during daytime, having to put a 'night time' filter over the footage they took. It was due to the restrictions they had from having nearly no budget. It's actually far better than some zombie 'movies' I've seen that have won indie horror film festivals
I remember when this film was first announced, and I finally sat down to watch it today. Amazing work, you can definitely tell that love for the game shines through in almost every facet. Bravo!

If this was a big budget industry film, i would be a little disappointed. But it isn't. It's from an independent studio and for such a small group to put years of work into this project and despite the setback they pulled through. I think what you guys did was amazing. You made use of the resources you had and made a film, a project you cared for and love. We all respect that.
On the other hand it's a shame that this channel is only known for its L4D movie... I can see potential with this channel to grow. I see the move you guys made with this, a project to put yourselves on the map. Tho it seems to have failed.

haven't watched the movie yet but at the start i think, him putting on the black hoodie and staring at zoey foreshadows him becoming the hunter that we see in zoeys nightmare. And the bite mark on his arm also proves this.

The fact that this movie is as long as the campaign stages usually are is really great attention to detail.
Surprisingly well done. If you guys ever need a fight choreographer, I taught combatives and advanced weapons for 5 years.
Review of the movie (Spoilers)
Pros:
-Good character introductions. The survivors, hunter, smoker, boomer.
-Fine actor choice
-A few good high quality scenes
Cons:
-Terrible night scenes (I couldn't see shit) It was either filmed literally at night or the scenes were toned down with terrible dark filter effect.
-Bad CGI. Movie could have been better without CGI. The boomer could have been replaced with an actor using pillows under his shirt applied with a fake skin and make up to make it look infected. The tank CGI could have been replaced with a muscular strong tall guy as an actor and some simple make up could have been used to make it look infected.
-Helicopter crash CGI totally ruined the movie. That was very silly and unrealistic.
-Bad voice syncing.
Final Score 4/10

Just don't forget the context. I fully agree with you for a commercial/professional project but we don't know how much time or resources they had since this was a non-profit one. Maybe the CGI option was their only way to go. And they were probably under pressure to release the movie after so many years. In the end they need their people and resources on projects that do help them to get money and survive.
Agree with the heli scene and special zombies, they could've killed the old guy with some zombies insead of trashing the heli
It pains me saying this because i've been following this project for 4 years i think but your score it's completely right. I've seen better fan mades on source filmmaker, and even better live action shorts from people with even lower budget than Mexican Standoff. First No Man's Sky and then this. Please BioShock: The Collection, save my hype...
Edit: and also, why the fuck did you put the tank in the movie if he was going to die like a little bitch? and at the end of every episode there's always an awedome horde mode, where the hell is that? and that's your casting choice for Francis? REALLY? HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A BEARD! that's just some random asshole who found a leather jacket and a white shirt (at least his lines weren't that bad). seriosly, almost 4 years for this? i know this is low budget and fan made but... fuck man, the least you could was make it look cool, but even that was hard for you!

Great work! My only complaints is that the voice acting isn't the best and I feel it's too dark sometimes. Other than that, really good! Also Francis's voice gives me some serious Resident Evil 1 vibes.

I'd like to see how our 4 heroes are actually made it to meet each other; how Zoey first reacted to her boyfriend mutated into the Hunter, etc. You know, all that things, what wasn't in the game. Ahh, never mind, it's just my sad dream, cause your cast is actually great 😥
