Hey Callan - Jeff Rollins here! It put a smile on my face to take this hike with you again! This was one of the first hikes from the geo tour of the nothern rockies I was on (2010 or 2011?) and inspired my love for the outdoors. I am studying for the FG and thought to look up your videos - it was worth it to see your hair this long 🤣. Seeing these outcrops again made my day and I am so glad you are still getting out to Montana! Should you ever travel to Denver, please reach out - I would love to catch up!

Question: We know the Gallatin Valley dropped along a normal fault how? Are there cores that show index strata below those of surrounding areas, something like that?

    Nice video!
I saw in the other comments that you had a young helper doing some of the camera work. It was a bit shaky but still helpful. The views where I assume you were holding the camera were moving around a little too fast when you were pointing things out. I would recommend slowing the panning to allow the viewers to see things better.

The high-energy event that mixed the fine-grained limestone into the coarse-grained limestone could also be a tsunami.

Do you ever collaborate with Nick Zentner @GeologyNick ? Great knowledge, passion, and presentation...both of you.

Nick and I know each other, but we haven't yet worked on any projects together.

Beautiful landscape, thx. But, camera person should switch to decaf. =)

Yeah, the ten year old holding the camera for the first few shots didn't take the "please hold it steady" feedback well, which is why I handheld the rest of it myself.
