There are 2 levels to this song. You can either listen to the music and enjoy it's catchiness as the epitome of what a pop song should be. Or, you can divulge a little deeper into the lyrical content and allow the song to draw you into, what is in fact, a rather sad song of conceding to the failure of a relationship and all the emotions that go along with it.

Yeah, a group made up of two couples break up and write a song about it and capture that feeling perfectly in the video.
The two girls sing to the boys, the two boys sing to the girls, and then the clever thing of having various variations of only three of them in frame at the same time. Brilliant.
Visual perfection. One of the first uses of musical videos ever yet still making a perfect video.
    God I love ABBA.
    Cheers Gracie 🍺

I love this song so much, so much nostalgia, my parents always played ABBA in the car on long road trips. Thanks for checking it out, enjoyed hearing your thoughts!

    Good morning for you
and thank you for continuing to discover ABBA
Your reaction was clear and nice
"Knowing me knowing you" (1976) is on the album "Arrival" along with "Dancing Queen" and many other beautiful songs
Curiosly: both songs was #1 in the same day, April 9 (1977)
    Dancing Queen in US Billboard
Knowing me knowing you in UK Official Charts
"Knowing me knowing you" is ABBA's second biggest UK hit (after Dancing Queen) with five weeks in #1
So different and beautiful both songs
That is the characteristic of ABBA, to be very versatile, avoid repetition and seek excellence and perfection in their melodies and vocal harmonies.
The lyrics are simple but very deep It allows to express the pain of a separation And contrasts it with a very catchy melody (another ABBA characteristic)
The combination of female voices is pure beauty (my favorite passage is when Agnetha does the echoing voice of Frida's lead voice)
The video is one of their best They constantly play with the image of the threesomes And with separations
(Note: the video is at begining 1977, They was two couples at these time)
For future heartbroken songs to react I suggest Their first in this genre: "S.O.S." (1975), and the second ABBA worldwide hit
    or the greatest ballads pop:
    Fernando (1976) & Chiquitita (1979)
Their two biggest worldwide hits behind Dancing Queen
ABBA have more than 20 worldwide hits between 1972/1982, included:
Waterloo, Mamma Mía, Fernando, Take a chance on me, Chiquitita, and all five songs You react
All these songs are in your album recopilation GOLD (1992) that a few week before just arrives to 1.000 weeks at Top 100 in UK Official Charts (first group singer or artist to do it in UK)
I hope to continue see You in more reactions to ABBA songs
I wish you a great week Take care

@@kristianmapage9742 Björn and Agnetha were divorced in 1979, but that was only the final breakup point of their marriage. The decision to split was made years before. Agnetha need therapy after their breakup. So sad.

Glad to see you again and return to ABBA songs
    "Knowing me knowing you"
was recording to the album Arrival (1976), and released as third single of these album in 1977
The lyrics is about separation of couple
    But it was before
Agnetha & Björn separation and divorce
(at these time They have one child and a second arrives at the end of 1977)
I think you don't see the live perfomances in ABBA tours 1977 & 1979
    I suggest for example:
    "Summer night city"

This song always takes me back. ABBA had a resurgence in the early 90s....and I was dating this woman who I really regretted breaking up with. This song epitomes our relationship. And a whole lot of others I would offer as well. Great Reaction.

This was done during a very challenging time in their lives. Agnetha (The Blond) & Bjorn (The Clean Shaven One) were about to divorce and shortly afterwards Benny & Frida would break up although they weren't officially Married. These guys put the "P in professional. They would go in do their work and they go their separate ways.

*Coming from a native Swede* The band members were couples; Agneta (the blonde) was married to Björn (the clean-shaven man), and Anni-Frid (the redhead) was married to Benny (the bearded man), but they later got divorced, and I think, I THINK, that this song is in significance to that.
