I'm moving there in Nov. and your videos been helping me learn what I need to know and be prepared for. You don't seem to have issues uploading your videos, so how's the internet connection up there. Is it possible to stream movies there?
You should make a video on how iqaluit is the coldest city in the world with the windchill! I can give you the data if you want. Iqaluit doesn't get the recognition it desrves.
I'm going to need future content to feature longer entries, than 2 to 7 minutes. Make no mistake, I'm not above contacting EVANturesTV customer service to complain directly so, take me seriously. Good job man. Thanks for the service to our distant yet very important students.
I have a question about living there. In What ways have you been able to immerse yourself or experience local culture and history? Not from a tourist perspective, but as a resident. Also could you do some videos featuring local artisans or their work?
Great question. That's my goal . The only immersive experiences (traditional games, throat singin) have been in the schools and I didn't want to film the kids ... but as more and more opportunities present themselves I shall! I want to interview some carvers, musicians etc..
Hello Evan, We are a class of French high school students. We have a few questions and comments for you: First, how long do Northern lights usually last for? What impact did the coronavirus crisis have on Iqaluit? (did it have one at all?) Also, we really liked you video and you should continue doing this! Thanks for your time, and take care! PS: what's your dog's name? It's cute.
Salut! Great question, with my experience if they’re really dancing ( a storm) they’ll go all night! But usually for 2-3 hours after sunset (on a clear night of course) Iqaluit had a bubble at the start of the pandemic. With 0 cases for the first 10 months. (Very lucky to live on an island) Iqaluit residents had to quarantine in a hotel in Ottawa for 2 weeks before returning. we were also one of the first in Canada to receive the vaccinations ! Thanks for watching !
