Hmm..i am not from Karnataka, but i liked it . Basically it is a kind of Sambar, dal with vegetables. There is very similar dish in Odisha named "Dalma" , only difference is Dal and vegetables are cooked in pressure first, then spices are added , lastly grated coconut and coriander leaves.

Thanks. Huli is much simpler. No poppy seeds, no peanuts, less dal, no cinnamon, coconut is not fried, veggies are not fried in oil, no black pepper etc.,
