- Scott Bloomquist is well known for his eccentric style and rockstar-like appearance. Another defining quality is Scott’s tendency to rebel, and when his father stated “I will never have no long-haired son,” well, you can guess where this is going. As a result, the image of Scott Bloomquist race fans have known for the last four decades was born, and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.

One of the best interviews you’ve done. Bloomquist is a legend.
Good racer.....not the other
His race record speaks for itself and other things he's done involving dirt late model racing.. If anybody disagrees, they will disagree with anything. A lot of people don't like somebody that wins fairly and does other things that help the sport they're in or just because that person may not be their favorite driver. Facts don't care if somebody is liked or what they have done
@@tonygreene8476 exactly
He's a junky
@@anthonylee8023 a junky that can drive a late model like no other.
Bloomquist is a very unique guy. He always seemed to have his cars with an advantage. He was always a step ahead of the next racing team. He was a legend.
HE IS THE GOAT!
There isn’t a Dirt Racing Fan that doesn’t have a Bloomer Story. And there isn’t a Race Fan Period. Who doesn’t know his name. He is polarizing, controversial, innovative and a complete Genius! Like he said, “3/4 of the Rule Book Today is because of me.” In the mid to late 80’s. Sanctioning Bodies had to make the Box ALOT smaller. To combat some of the stuff he was coming up with. I remember when he came up with what we called Being “clamped up”. He mentioned it in another part of interview. When he started that. It completely changed the whole sport of DLM Racing. Not only on the mechanical side. But from the Fan side as well. First because of the speed pick up. And second, because of the visual effect. Packing the LF off the corner all the way down the straight aways. It completely changed everything. It made the class more interesting to watch on TV. Before, DLM’s were VERY slow looking. Once being clamped became a thing. It became easier to introduce fans to the class. There was a massive effect on the way it visually made the Racing appeal to the new or casual fan. Or the time when led like the first 20 laps of the DREAM at Eldora. They stopped him. Made him take a “prototype” window net out of the car. After he had raced it all weekend. They restarted him in the Back. With like 75 to go. He re-took the lead on like Lap 80 and won the Race. He said afterword, “ If they hadn’t of done that. I would have lapped the field.” “That’s what wouda happened.” “That would have been entertaining.” “But nothing like that was.” Just type in Scott Bloomquist on CZcams. You will see what I mean. It good to see him laughing and having a good time. See, NASCAR needs someone like a Scott Bloomquist. Someone who walks to the beat of their own drum. Someone not so polished and refined.
Did Scott ever try sprint cars?
I like NASCAR or, more accurately, I used to like NASCAR but dirt is so much better. National touring series or the local track is way better than the embarrassment NASCAR has become.
@@tillman40 I think the cast he had on his wrist when he won the 88 World 100 was from a Sprint Car Crash. Not for sure…but I think so? If that makes sense. That is one detail he didn’t mention in the interview. Was about how he won that First Workd 100 with a cast on his arm.
Dale Jr. - "so you have a license".....scott, "no, nooooo"....priceless! wtg scott.....f*** some lie-to-your-senses!
My buddy just pointed out to me that he and I saw Mike Davis at Tioga Speedway some years ago.
He was there with Jimmy Spencer.Jimmy was signing autographs and Mike was tussling with one of the locals.Jimmy was watching and laughing.
Definitely one of the most memorable Saturday nights I had at Tioga Speedway.
I've been to Cedar Lake every year for the past 16, I remember one year Bloomer came from the back of the pack and got the lead and was giving everyone the finger as he drove to the checkered flag. He is truly entertaining, will always be my favorite driver
The download is great but this is too..."historic"?...to not see in it's entirety. I mean c'mon, it's Dale Jr. interviewing The Bloomer! As far as racing podcast go? This is about as epic as it gets. 🏁
The man, the myth, the legend Scott Bloomquist. Awesome unique dude, racing today would be better if they still allowed true outlaws in my opinion
I've seen Scott race in Tennessee, what a treat. I love his style and personality. A real racer to the core, to the core! I am 53 and absolutely love that he is still rocking strong in his upper fifties. It is great inspiration. Good interview!
We had a guy racing us from Valdosta who was 74. His name was Harvey Jones.
These interviews are what set you apart dale jr. Scott is the American badass, same as dale sr. Different in so many ways except one. Speed and the need for it, more the better. Keep up great stuff dale jr. We love ya brother. Oh yeah you are smart man for getting outta crapcar when you did.
2 legends right there
This is one of your best interviews yet. Thank you. It's great.
They should do more dirt racers, this is awesome
To hang out,and drink some beer with Jr.and Scott......awesome!!!!!!!
An awesome interview Jr with one of dirt late models greatest drivers, I've seen Scott do some amazing things.🤙🇺🇸🇺🇸👍
His Dad is a character as well, it's a family tradition! And now to hear ihis Grandparents names, their parents must have been interesting as well..Bloomquist tearing up Australia must have been wild..
Thanks For Putting The Scott Bloomquist Interview on the CZcams...Greatly Preciate-It.....Team Zero - Best Late Model Racer and Crew Ever
My favorite dirt track racer by far i was at Eldora when they dqed him man was i mad? Yes
When it comes to dirt track racing, Scott was the badass. No doubt there.
-was? still is.
I heard he surfed the wave in the end of point break 🤯
Jr. needs to get into a Longhorn SLM and try running with the big dogs at Eldora!
To see 2 of my favorite drivers, maybe my 2 favorite drivers. Dale Earnhardt, Billy Moyer, Ernie Irvin, Shannon Bapp, Kevin Weaver, Kyle Petty/Tom Cruise😂(We all Guilty as kids), Jeff Purvis, Me😂, Ray Gus Jr, Billy Tuckwell, McDowell brothers used wash hair in buckets. Lil Joe Izzo, i had guys i rooted for..but these 2 are pry my favorites because what they meant to me personally. Jr and my dad dying the same time and Scott teaching me never go off the face a man projects to you.
That’s why I so good he don’t walk in other peoples footsteps he blazes the trail
Extraordinary life, this man has achieved amazing goals and it's also really impressive to me that Scott is a legendary racer, pilot, gets out in the surf. That's not easy to perform any of those skilfully, all at great risk and he's obviously very talented and on top of that he actually experienced the rock star lifestyle, yeah impressive, the man is rock star and an American badass pretty much haha great interview thank you
I totally get when he said "if it's above 500' I don't even care about flying!"
I have watched him at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, GA my.
Need to interview Johnathan Davenport !
In the presence of greatness for real!!!
Have watched him race at The Taz in Tazewell Tn, Bloomquist is still on top of his game
If you've never seen a picture of Scott's transporter it's worth the look. total badass rig.
Good thing Ed Petroff bought it for him
8:43 just isn’t enough time! Headed to the podcast! Nice one Jr!!!!
Great interview ♥️⭐️💙
First heard about Scott Bloomquist in 1994 while working at Phase 2 Graphics in Pine Level North Carolina. We made graphics for many of the local stock car racers, but heavily involved in the larger dirt racing series. The owner (Joe Walters) use to talk about Scott all the time and what a crazy, party animal and incredible racer he was. So cool to see the podcast as it brought back many good memories of Joe, (rest in peace).
Absolute Legend.
Definitely one of my favorites ❣️🥰
Far out Jr.
Never cease to bring it either. your father is proud, wherever he is! Keep moving brother ....peace
ej
Another great one.
Absolutely a legend!
Thank you for the video
"Hello Scott, I'm ______ from the FAA and I'm here to ask you a few questions," is not far off into the future.
Love Scott! Have had privilege to personally know him and hang out with him at Eldora and FALS. Grew up at dirt tracks and he is the GOAT❤️
HE'S A DAMN GOOD ONE TO INTERVIEW , VERY BRIGHT IN DIRT TRACK RACING ☠️
Hey, I got the Bloomers autograph at Thunder Valley Speedway down in Glenmora Louisiana at a Hav-a-tampa race back in the day!
Bloomer on stage with pantera? Badass
Happy birthday Scott
My first ever dirt race I went to was at Bristol, it was 20 plus years ago, still have a collectible diecast car I bought of Scott Bloomquist and didnt even know who he was at the time, I just liked the look of the car lol
I seen Boomer in Phoenix City Al. 90ish, Started 18th,in the 18 car. And everyone was fast, but ol sideways was way faster. He owns that checkered flag.
Bloomer is certainly an interesting person.A one of a kind.
Legendary
Also I was at Atomic when he set 11.26 on the 1/3 mile in a late model
As a Mooresburg resident this is pretty kickass
I'd bet $500.00 he showed up late to the interview.
Absolute legend
I watch these podcasts and I'd love to be able to watch the live footage
Still thinking about that brake clutch gas combo
This man makes me shake rattle and roll such a legend he reminds me of dearth Vader badass!
From right up the street here - but you don't see him around town much, to be honest.
I guess that's the point of moving here, eh?
Never got pulled over yet. 👍🛸.
There's the original "mr. Sideways.
I knew Sherry very well she often spoke of you, Sherry just plani spoke often. R.I.P. Sherry.
This dude is so cool
GOAT
I had that Bob Senneker shirt as a kid, before I became a Mike Eddy fan.
Bloomer is and always will be the best of the best in super late model racing.
Never let the truth get in the way of a good story says Scott.
Scott was the best dirt late model driver ever! There I said it!!!!
I'll never sell my old restored Mooney Mite....it aint slow anymore.
Hells yeah ole bloomer is bad ace. Clay from mobile Alabama
I GOT TO WATCH SCOTT RACE AT 311 MOTOR SPEEDWAY,ALL I CAN SAY IS WHEEL MAN!!!!!
I hope they don't go flying together....lol
Born in Blackhawk County Waterloo, Iowa myself
If you're not a Bloomquist fan, that says more about what's wrong with you than it does about the Man, the myth, the Legend Scott Bloomquist!...imolol
one cool mo fo 👍🏁🏁👍
I dig the senneker shirt
I became a Scott Bloomquist fan when he said he is a fellow Shinedown fan.
The Christian Band that is involved with Celebrate Recovery.
DID THE BAND GET ABDUCTED BY ALIENS TO WHAT A JOKE
I was already a Bloomquist fan. I am a huge Shinedown fan. Seen them in concert at least 10 times.
Just a true racecar driver and a Old-school mechanic.A true Old-school man and A True Man .one of a Kind.A Man's Man.not scared to tell it Like he sees it would love to meet him But living in a non racing state that'will never happen but a man can dream Baltimore Bo.keep doing you.God Bless you.
Never heard of that guy before big dill
One of the big three on dirt bloomquist Steve kinser and Brett hearn
Manson, Pantera and ... Shinedown? Aight then.
Are these podcasts getting shorter of is it just me IDK.
I wanna party with the Bloomer!🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
It's a Great Beautiful Area
0:07 why theres a Renault 4 in the table? Is it the Pablo Escobar one?
Scott is definitely a legend,little ego toooo,,lol
Bloomer earned the ego!...lol
Because Bloomer is a badass.
Definitely the goat on dirt
Badass or crazy? I think huge badges, and a bit of crazy. I would bet he was(is) into psychedelics.
The upper Ohio Valley is full of Bloomquists
Imagine being called an american badass by Jr?? MAJOR GOALS
Dale should free up a ride for Scott.
He Didnt Nascar -- Hero to me
Should asked him if he remembers beating a 15 year olds ass at Fayetteville race way at the hav a Tampa circuit! It was me and that’s when I learned to not look under a racecar
Bloomquist is the og American badass
I'm actually shocked he came on here. For this bit only certain questions asked. Into more he'd run out the building as some say. Good driver for sure. I root for him at times. He doesn't show up, it's really frustrating. "Oh I'm having a hard time" you have everything you need. Stupid
Jr. Why did you feel the need to ask him to come on here?
Who needs a pilots license?
Jus seen this week he was diagnosed with lung cancer an he want be here long i heard he was rat up a n they wasnt even goins try tlo treat it its so bad i heard i hope im wrong but he definatly has cancer i hope him the best
The FAA reading this 👀
This guy is fucking awesome 🤘
he's a nut case says he was abducted by aliens that's not assume that's mentally unstable
A real badass wouldn't have waited to turn 18 to grow his hair, but I'm totally on board with this dude!
It's not to hard to find who has a pilots license
TEAM ZERO THE GOAT
