I found this quite challenging later in the run at the leg. The mod seems to be made in a way that combat is different and you must get used to it, but once you do, you are more advantageous. I still have yet to get good at the combat...
The low damage makes the player have to be more aggressive and quick with their attacks, especially with lizards. This can often lead to defending yourself being more dangerous and difficult. You have to learn the new way to fight, and this is one of the things I enjoyed most.
The very concept is creative and well executed. Before playing the mod I had no idea how melee could possibly work, but here it is done in a way that is fitting and fun. - Hry

Yeah concept of this mod is to give player refreshing experience by changing core mechanic, and risk versus return. Nice to see someone actually enjoyed it! ouo

You're easily gonna get arachnophobia if you see a bunch of spiders connect into a cat-sized abomination.
Same here and I didn't mind the spiders since half the time I couldn't see them but playing hunter and being stuck in the Subterranean I saw multiple wolf spiders crawling on the ceiling and floors and jumping everywhere which did make me dislike them even mofe
@@xdarin_ I grew up and live in the woods, most spiders don't freak me out, haha.
But yeah, an amalgamation of spiders is not something I want to see, digitally or real life.

Nah, it just takes practice. There's a pretty specific way to navigate it that you kind of just learn eventually from observation and dying.
@@turtletoad7725 I think I may have gotten it now but not after dying around 25 times before I got through. Slugcat tends to not grab grabbable objects when flying to space and it annoys the hell out of me.
Also floating into ofscreen daddies is also fun.

i know this is sorta dumb but is there any big difference between slug cat and slugpup? i know youre shorter, but are you weaker by any means? (or inversely, more agile but less murder-y like the nymph mod?)
the lancer attacks with melee, and each attack is weaker, although faster than normal combat
ah gotcha, baby slug is just visual stuff but is part of the lancer mod

I don't think there will be any playable creature mods anytime soon. The game is fundamentally designed only for slugcat, and creature movements are fundamentally meant to only be controlled by AI. A lot would have to be changed.

It is made almost completely with hooking, so it's compatible with nearly anything.
If you are talking about local co-op mod, yes! Compatibility was one of the main goal, so this mod is compatible with pretty much any other mods (such as wingcat, thicccat, martyr)
