The only thing I would change is adding the common snake anti-venom injector pens to the hike, just in case the little guy gets bit.

My ferret is so amazing. I guess they all are, but her memory, determination, skill and strength at escape is amazing. If she escapes by one method, she never forgets. If I block that method, she will search for another. She has learned to open the sliding glass door. I put a lock on it. She can work out how to open the closed doggy door. I reinforced it. She found a way to force the top of the doggy door. I reinforced again. I harness and leash her, every day, to explore the back yard. She has dug herself a den, and loves playing in the cut grass compost pile. She also loves escaping the fence. She is the definition of a brat. I give her toys, slings,tunnels, places to climb, treasure hunts, hideaways, and still, she is always looking for the “greener grass on the other side of the fence” lol. And, she likes beer. No, I do NOT give my ferret beer, but, if the opportunity to steal it arises, she takes full advantage, going so far as to lick it off your lips, if you let her! She will steal an empty can, if she finds one, or will dive head first into the recycle bin! I love her! She will only eat kibble, no raw food, ( I offer, but she doesn’t see it as food. She has eaten a palmetto bug!) love ferret videos!

Before Jesse was a beautiful white ferret named Oliver who sadly passed away, the cause was unknown but he was still young and he was the original Hiking Ferret. Rest in peace ❤️🕊️
I used to work the markets in Cambridgeshire and almost every Sunday this guy would come along with two ferrets on their leads and they love to come running up and jump on my dog who just laid there and went yeah okay .

Growing up with dogs, I had no clue about Ferrets when my daughter wanted a pet. Long story short we now have 5 ferrets. A small business😆

Ferrets and most Mustelids seem so much more wild and uncontrollable than our long-domesticated animals. It's always funny watching them finally just chill on someone's shoulder.
They've been domesticated for 2500 years already!
Your confusing wild and uncontrollable with personality and curiosity, I have 2 ferrets currently but I have had the typical dog and cat pets growing up, aswell as other various animals and I can hands down assure you they have more personality on show than any other animal I've owned, they are raw with their emotions and the most active and curious animals I've ever had
The longest walk mine has done was about three miles. He loves the beach and the rivers and lakes. He loves my dog-they are best friends.

A ferret harness! Maybe that would work with my very tiny cat. She's only six pounds and cat harnesses are too big for her. We've even resorted to cutting the toe off a sweat sock and just slipping her into it. But now we know to try this too.
Where I live, if I tried this, the birds would carry my ferrets off, as soon as they saw them.

I know ferrets overheat easily. Anything over 80 degrees at the most. I wonder how she prevented that
hes cute but i keep feeling like a hawk is gonna swoop down and im not sure that leach is gonna help.
