Ha. That line that Muller quotes at the end (said in the movie by Elijah Cook Jr. to Lawrence Tierney) is so funny and dark. I was going to quote it myself in this comment, but Eddie beat me to it. 😀

Yes, Elijah Cook, Jr in "Mary Poppins" could make it a noir. I can see him as a scrappy, little Cockney pal of Bert's.
That night with Lawrence Tierney article is absolutely astounding. Believe it or not but Eddie is downplaying how weird it got here. Seriously please read it. It basically made me feel every Tierney story is probably true.

Yeah, it's a wonder this film was ever released at the time. L. Tierney truly frightening - a narcissistic psychopath. We understand them more now. Claire T. is just a garden-variety egotist, I think. And well within her socially acceptable position of an advantageous marriage, of her time. Thanks for posting. And beware of sexy blondes wearing unbelievable chapeaux!😅
