As a former D1 setter, I wish this dude was around back in my day. He's incredible. So smart about his plays.
Where did u play at and when?
Seeing his journey from high school to LBSU to now is incredible 🔥🙌
His connection with Torey is unreal... like they read each other's minds. Can't wait to see what Tijuana becomes. Great future.
long beach bois 🔥
played together since middle school i think! HB high school for sure!
Those one hand sets are amazing! Him and Christenson are both great setters.
Love watching Tuaniga set, he made this game so much fun to watch.
Really unfortunate that he has to compete with Christenson for a starting role
Kawika shoji is retired. Christenson is usually the go-to setter due to his high level experience and play. Josh comes right after if Christenson can’t play or to give him a chance to play. Josh is an excellent setter but just needs more experience 😊
@@nathancerbo7050 he’s just saying it sucks that he has to compete with such a great setter cause he is so good but still can’t get that starting spot
Isnt Christenson going to Russia?
@@mileswells4029 he’s there now
He will have his time. Christenson also waited for his time.
the quick attack from an off pass to jendryk is just insane i love the chemistry they have
That first leg of VNL 2022 was so entertaining! Really glad to see Tuaniga getting recognition.
1:50 crazy save
the flick at 1:30 should have gotten a close up...absolutely unreal
He kinda reminds me of Kageyama with all those quicks even though the receive is not perfect
the music in this video around 3mins was hype af
He has a lot of potential but he still has a lot to improve on for him to replace the Micah Christensen.
I agree. Christenson won’t be leaving anytime soon but Joshua needs to improve greatly during this time to replace him. I feel bad tho because it’s a crazy amount of pressure for him as well
it's hard for anyone to replace one of - if not the - best setter in the world lol. tuaniga's great connection with TJ and his aggression remind me of micah tho.
1:50 is crazy lmao. off balance, unstable footwork, perfect.
3:31 "Torey Defalco" 😂
That’s his name 😂🤡
@@jaredtop_ funny how that was never the name he went by in college
@@locomojoboy2 his name is Torey James… TJ
@@jaredtop_ still doesn’t change the fact that he was NEVER called “Torey” by any of the commentators in any of his college games. Hell even the pro commentators were calling him “TJ” for a while until they started calling him Torey recently.
I swear the way he set middle behind the 3 meter line is like some Kageyama sh1t
Honestly it’s insane
Straight out Haikyu
Go Beach!!!
I'm 2 minutes in and have already seen 2 clips where DeFalco is fucking up a free ball...HAHAHAHA
lol the pass @ 1:46
That play was on purpose. Look at how he first pretends to be angry at himself for fucking it up but then immediately turns around to cover the intended play in the middle.
@@dinodinodinodino that was on purpose
@@doncorleone9294 I doubt it, why would he say "WHAT THE HELL!" if that was a set play? Also, if he was faking it he left a gap in the court during the coverage in the 2 position.
@@grant5864 Just look at the way he intentionally pushes under the ball to keep it off the net. It's a set piece they have trained. Why else would his middle turn around, immediately smile at Defalco and praise him for a messed up free ball?
He shouts what the hell because he was celebrating a ridiculous play.
On God he's my cousin like you can literally ask him if he knows me my name is luana tuaniga
Is he from Long Beach?😅
Not sure about his hometown, but college yes.
@@locomojoboy2 Long Beach boys. Played with these guys at HBC CLUB
Is he of pacific island descent?
Tuaniga is a Sāmoan name.
Yes, he's of Samoan descent.
Could have cut out all the attacks when he's in the front row. That's not exactly creative. But some of the actual sets are crazy!
Personally I think James Shaw and Micah Christensen are both better setters
Not in terms of placement. They are better athletes but definitely not better pure setters
i think the setters for usa are rediculus
6:52 no net violation he touched it and went under it?
he didn’t hit net, the ball did, he also stepped across outside the court so it was clean
tua what bro 😭😭
hes just lazy
Volleyball is too easy. No one can touch you, the net is 50 years too low, there are two too many players. I will change my mind when it draws more viewers than the terrible WNBA.
You should try playing sometime if you haven’t already. It’s a pretty challenging game. Having 6 players or 4 players brings different challenges but still a fun and challenging game.
wtf 1:47
insane set
Giannelli is the best
