A Walk To Robin Gibb's Grave

- I've moved to a small village a few miles from Thame, but I made it a mission to stop by Robin's resting place and shoot some video the other day.
I know a lot of people miss him and I feel lucky to be living so close and to be able to provide video.
This will probably be my last visit and I hope everyone enjoys this video.
The video begins standing East of St. Mary's, looking over the Cricket Pitch.
The next segment is walking East just past the kissing gate and through St. Mary's Churchyard arriving at Robin's grave.
After circling we then go from Robin's plaque to his Brother Andy Gibb's memorial marker.
The gatehouse of The Prebendal where Robin and Dwina lived for many years can be seen in the background.
The last 3 minutes is for meditation, lawn mowers working, schoolgirls on a tour of St. Mary's Church chatting & giggling, birds singing in the trees, ambient sound, a very nice moment in time despite the rather grey skies.

Thank you so much for posting this touching and peaceful video! It is much the same type of pilgrimage that I might have made in order to pay my respects. A huge Bee Gee fan, during my only visit to the UK back in the 90's, I even visited Manchester to see the "Bee Gees" home, school and the corner where the record got dropped that started it all! I miss all 3 Gibb brothers terribly, and my heart goes out to Barry, being the oldest and yet the 'last man standing'. They were all so much a part of my growing up years and I was fortunate enough to see them live in concert twice. I wanted so much to meet them, but haunted every L.P. record convention until I finally found ALL their music, even those albums that were out of print in the pre-CD and MP3 days! Even now, it's hard to believe that they're really gone. However, their memories are alive and well within me, and their music will forever be an integral part of the fabric of my life. May you rest in peace Robin, Maurice and Andy. And may God continue to comfort and bless the rest of the family...

It's just a memorial marker for Andy, he's actually buried in Los Angeles.
By showing this video to the public I say you're the extended memories of the Bee Gees brothers the songs that they brought people happiness in their lifetime that will continue from generation to generation.

Beautiful video. Such a peaceful place. I can see why Robin stayed there. I love the quietness you kept while filming, the birds in the background and the children laughing and playing towards the end.

Absolutely gratified for you sharing this video. I was lucky enough to see robin in Adelaide and in Sydney with his brothers. I play their music everyday and miss them more than words can express. such a lovely place to be laid to rest. No wonder the birds are chirping as robin is singing to them..

I have loved all the bee gees forever. What a talented family. I watch the concert they performed in Vegas whenever I feel sad and it always makes me feel better. Robin will always be the man I wish I could have known. Intelligent and very interesting. Love the last album the titanic. He had so much more to do. I hate to see wonderful talent leave us so soon. I love you Robin Gibb.

It made me realise that we are all mere mortals and it matters not a bit that you are a multi millionaire or a pauper, once your time is up you can only hope you have lived a decent life that has brought happiness to some people. No one is perfect, but maybe if we strive to be as kind as we can to others less fortunate than ourselves and trust in God, well it could be that we get our rewards in the next higher place we go to. R I P Robin. Thanks.for the great memories.

Thank you for posting this. Just like with Buddy Holly, I didn't fully realize how profoundly talented Robin was until after his passing. You said Mo was cremated. Do you know where his ashes repose? Mo was vastly underappreciated, but one gets the impression that he was comfortable "just being there" on stage with his brothers. He was extremely talented, as were they all. So sad, but we have a huge library of their immortal works for listening.
I would love more than anything to visit Andy and Robbin and Maurice Gibb's Brave sites. I need to do that for me and my grandmother. I would be there for hours. RIP Robbin Maurice and Andy. you were musical legends.
Maurice's ashes were spread on the sea in the Bahamas.
Andy, and his parents grave is at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. DO NOT ASK WHERE IT IS THERE..not at the gates (it pisses them off) its at the Court of Remembrance section, E26, wall elevation 26, outside, facing the Serenity section..TAKE THE 34 FREEWAY TOWARDS THE WARNER BROTHERS STUDIOS not west...exit off Pass (oh look at the google map) after you drive in; ONLY ASK where the Court of Remembrance section is...NOTHING MORE..DON'T SOUND LIKE A TOURIST...THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU NAMES/WHO IS THERE......
What a beautiful and peaceful place. Thank you for the silence during your walk. It was lovely to hear the birds and the children and to have our own personal thoughts about Robin. and Michele, I found it calming as well. I hope your diagnosis was negative and that you are thriving.

Hopefully this question won't be answered anytime soon. He did a great Concert. He made it seem like all His Brother's were there. I Pray for Him and His Family and His Fans, Barry can do another Concert Tour. Maybe next time He might be able to get one of Robin's kids and Andy's Daughter to join them. But Barry did an excellent job remembering His Brother's. He did a great job helping His Mother raising them and He is doing a great Job keeping Their Legacy going. God Bless Barry.

I was going to ask the groundskeeper about Robin's headstone but he was so busy, I didn't want to bother him. However, I'll be back in Thame soon and hopefully will take the dog for a walk in Robin's Sheep Fields, if I see the groundskeeper, I will ask.

I know this might seem weird but I just got over endometrial cancer and now they think I have breast cancer, so for me this is calming, I simply adored Robin from the first time I saw him, and I happened to see the Bee Gees in concert in Houston, TX. with John Travolta, what a fantastic memory that I will take to me grave, oh excuse me, my crypt( I don't want to be buried), Ha, love you all, Michele.
Keep Strong Michele. They don't know everything and you have a pretty unbreakable spirit. I'll be thinking of you as you get through this one .
Is Maurice buried there too? If not I'll take his spot, Ha Ha!!!, sorry my dry sense of humor from my Grandmother from England, Michele.
it is sad that someone who gave of himself in the world of music and gave to charities. that no one bought him a grave stone. sometimes people forget .it looks like the grave is unkempt and the flowers are old and wilted. is this how people who die are remembered. this is sad. Rip robin. we all miss you. rest with angels in heaven.
He will have a proper memorial. It's quite normal for there to be a wait, especially considering his achievements, hang in there. :)
NOT TODAY...WHAT YOU SEE IS THE VERY WEEK HE WAS BURIED...they were grieving a lot that week cathy.
And so the stone is now in place and beautiful it looks too-VERY artistically done in Irish marble!. Good to see that the stone to Andy will also be re-carved soon. Two "Spirits Having Flown" but still within our hearts.
This was very peaceful place, Robin must have wished to be buried near his home.
I have heard the Mo's ashes were spread in the Bahamas a favorite place which he loved. Miss Robin so much and the sound of his beautiful voice and that smile.

Just lovely video.Let us remember that Robin and Maurice do not reside here.Andy does not reside in that cemetery in the U.S.These burial sites are for us,not them.They are places to pay homage to their lives.Whether they have headstones,monuments.mausoleums,statues really does not matter.What matters is the legacy one leaves behind.Given all that The brothers Gibb have given us,I am awestruck at their contribution to this world, and humbled.

I lived in Thame for 20 years; my kids grew up and went to school there, and one still lives there now. It the most beautiful town to be in, and I don't get back as often as I'd like. It wasn't uncommon to see Robin or Dwina in the high street, and I know Robin loved the town too.

I am sure he will have a beautiful memorial,The reason its not there yet is because,You must wait months or so for the ground to settle properly,otherwise if you set the the stone too soon,it sinks as well,ground has to harden,Used to bury the dead some yrs back

The Bee Gees are my all time musical heroes and I always wanted to visit Robins grave but it would cost me a ridiculous amount of money to do so and I almost had a heart attack when I discovered this video, I could not believe it. And the fact that you walked the walk, I must have watched this 10 times since yesterday. THANK YOU! You are a very special person doing a very special thing for so many fans!

life is really too short. i visited my friends grave the other day he died 6 years ago and i still dream that he's still alive its like his spirit is with me. its just so sad that all of barry's brothers have died and he's the last man standing.
True words Michael, I still dream of long gone friends and family, even sometimes my old dogs, but we must carry on.
