He worried my team, Kotoko so much. He scored us 1-0 in a league match in Accra. Very tough and versatile. Our match against the Algerians in the world cup qualifier in Algeria was a game things didn't go well for him and Damba during the second half. He was sooo good though diminutive in stature. Thanks for this interview. Joe Odoi was sooo sooo good.
One of the best defender Ghana has ever seen,is a pleasure watching you played for both Hearts of oak and Ghana black stars.1984 SWAG FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR.Long live sir!!!
I played against you at Kaneshie Complex ( Stade Traders vrs Wescos) and we beat u 1-0. U were playing 2 whilst I was the no.11 player for Wescos and that wud be around 77/78/79. Check dis out!
Frankly, Joe never played against late Opoku Afriyie in Hearts colors. Opoku Afriyie left Kotoko immediately after African club final in 1982 and Joe joined Hearts of Oak in 1984
He caused the Algeria equalizer in the world cup qualifiers. He was trying to clear the ball from the 18yrs but missed and deflected on the other leg to the opponent to score.
Joe Odoi at the Antoint Tobmam stadium when you chanced with Philip Tagoe to stoop Opong Wiah i was at the stadium and i,v been talking about it anytime. l am Osa Kpobi. Good luck Joe.
Joe Odoi was one of my favorite defenders even though I am a Kotoko supporter. Attackers find it difficult to by-pass him. Kwaku another great interview 👏
The Joe Amartey of Standfast he mentioned played for Olympics in the late 70s. By 2007, Joe Amartey was working with SSNIT & sometimes we come to work or meet after work.
Ei this stubborn Hearts and black defender, he was skinny and smallish but so tough to beat. He played with such freedom and speed. I remember him paa. He played for a long time.
Similar thing happened to the late Edward 'Santrofie' Acquaah in 1988. A mistake from Santrofie during a league match between Hearts and Cornerstones resulted in a goal against Hearts. After the match the the supporters attacked and abused him. This made him throw the captains armband away. He was subsequently stripped of the captaincy.
He was referring to Coach Ibrahim Sunday
A definition of natural defender. JOE TEX.
Ibrahim Sunday should be the Coach he is trying to remember
I used to play colts at Mataheko-Russia in the year 1990 in a park named after him.His house was around that park too.Joe Tex Park.

I remember they drew 3-3 with B.A Utd in Sunyani in 1984. This guy was the man of the match
Joe 'Plywood' Odoi. 1984 Ghana Footballer of the Year. Unbelievable defender.

I remember him with the dripping jelly curls in his early days playing for Hearts. He was quiet stubborn though.
This is so lovely Dan K, you bring back good memories of our heroes in those days.
These are the players we should be celebrating, patriotic players who gave their all for the nation for no money.
Joe Odoi was one of my favorite defenders even though I am a Kotoko supporter. Attackers find it difficult to by-pass him. Kwaku another great interview 👏
IBRAHIM SUNDAY IS THE COACH HE IS REFERRING TO. HE WAS A STOP GAP COACH AFTER HE WON THE AFRICAN CUP WITH KOTOKO AND WAS TASKED TO HELP EK AFRANIE
Well done Joe Odoi . Ghana 🇬🇭 is very proud of you.

Kwaku, look for Legendary Alhaji Bello and interview him. Keep up the good work.

JOE TEX. THE ONLY Defender TO WIN SWAG FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR

ORIGINAL JOE TEX WAS EMMANUEL AKWEITEYE

Please what about the other Joe Tex who played for Kotoko. He was a midfielder
NOT ISAAC ASARE, IT WAS EMMANUEL ASARE. THEY HAD PLAYERS LIKE, JOE BAAH, EMMANUEL OPOKU, BABA RABIU,
I remember Joe tex we used to live in the area Russia-Dansoman around Osono junction. He had his jelly curls.
That’s my coach
Wow Joe odai
Better day's are gone
He rather met Emmanuel Asare: the albino at Okwawu United.
Champion 4 Joe tex
Fofana every Black Star defender except Joe Odoi
I meant Fofana beat Black Star defender except Joe Odoi who was able to stopped him
THE GA MANTSE WAS NII AMUGI TETTEH
