@Franz Fanon it started as cancer of the tongue and then rapidly spread to his whole body in a short time. He said it was because of him holding his metal guitar picks in his mouth in that spot but he also was a heavy smoker for most of his life. From what I hear he was against doing conventional medicine in his progression and relied on holistic or green recovery methods.

While stationed in Japan in 86', like everyone could not wait for the release of 5150. Had the cassette of 5150 a month before anyone on the base. Paid way over normal price to record store owner to get a priority shipment of 5150. Made a good part of my expense back, selling copies of it on the base. Never forget the day I got it. Had people beating my barracks door down, the minute I hit the volume button. Still have the cassette today.

The folks calling the shots in mass media have gotten so afraid to take risk in order to preserve the idea that music is one of the fine arts. All about sticking to a sound formula that worked yesterday for people to tune in and listen. It's all about making the investers happy. The artistic motivation that used to be provided by big time media has left the building.
