145 mph on that front straight is insane! Looks like fun!

    Hey!
I frequent Road Atlanta with Chin Track Days, most recently with my Tesla. While it's a great handling, quick (not fast), predictable car, I've given it up and started prepping my Alfa Giulia QV for track-use again.
This video caught my attention... 3-sec faster on MPSS? This is good news. I currently have MPSS on my QV, but was concerned about potential chunking on track, or potentially having them start to give up when they get hot considering the 300 wear rating ( utqg). I ran Bridgestone 71R on my Tesla and loved them, but they don't make the right sizes for my QV.
That said, you're rolling pretty dang good on the MPSS, so you've inspired confidence lol!! A couple times I thought the tires were giving up... Once when you got squirrelly in T3, and again in T4 before going into the esses. After that you never got squirrelly again, but I wonder if it's because you got caught in traffic which gave the tires time to cool a bit?
How do you think the MPSS would perform in May, June, August, October at RA when it's pretty hot out?
Anyway... Keep it up! Looks good! Watching your telemetry I'm amazed that you can be off the accelerator AND brake in T9. You must have excellent down-force because I'd be nervous as heck letting off right there at 150-160mph+ Lol!!!

Thank you. I ran the MPSS tire with street alignment. My GM dealer changed the car to track alignment according to GM track prep. That made the car 3 seconds faster on the same tire. MPSS.
I think when I passed the red car going up the hill I picked up trash/rubber on the tires. That made it get squirrelly in those two turns till the tires cleaned off again.
I have used Toyo 888r, Michelin cup 2, MPSS and R7 Hoosier. They all get greasy especially in the summer. I wouldn’t say any of them totally give up but they definitely change. Get greasy. The R7 actually did the best at 35-45 degrees out. Which surprised me.
As for chunking I have had them chunk some and the cup2 delaminate. Check out my AMP video. It shows the MPSS tire after the first 4 track days on the car. I do like the MPSS. The cup2 was 3 seconds faster than the MPSS at RA with the same alignment. The Hoosier R7 gave the best grip but it and the Toyo rub on the front end
I don’t mind admitting that turn 9 makes me nervous. LOL. I have to be very gentle letting off the throttle and switching to brakes. The car will go deeper on the brakes there but I’m still building my confidence

@@acceleratedcorvette5733 I'll definitely check out your AMP video.
Crazy that you gained 3 seconds just by changing the geometry of the car. That's amazing! And you say that in the same configuration the CUP2 was 3sec faster than with the MPSS??!!
      Wow!
Well... I have given up my Tesla for now. Again, brilliant handling and we'll balanced, but no stamina. The battery tech just isn't there yet. So....
I'll be back at Road Atlanta in my Alfa Romeo Giulia QV. As a matter of fact, I just registered for the one-day event Chin has on Friday April 16.
I need to reacquaint myself with the car, so I'm not doing anything to it other than swap out the stock carbon ceramic brakes for some Girodiscs. I DO NOT have the disposable cash enough to replace carbon ceramics on a regular 😂
      Be safe!
Hope to see you at Road Atlanta some time 👍🏽

@@genyosai I agree it’s to expensive to run carbon brakes on track.
I’ll be at RA on April 16th. Look me up. I will be driving a Corsa crew prepped 2018 ZL1 with 725hp. I’m excited!!

@@acceleratedcorvette5733 Corsa Crew! Joseph... My man! 😁
I'll look for you for sure.
I'll be in the Ruby Red Alfa Romeo. Shouldn't be hard to spot lol!
