To give a student a piece they can learn and play with confidence and feeling is the greatest gift a teacher can bestow on a student. I can't even imagine how many people have been lifted up a whole level by this wonderful lesson. Well done.
Amazing. Been learning for 6 months and can’t play a single song. Your video tutorial is great and your teaching style is very cool, calm and collected. You give me hope that i will be able to have something to show for all the time Ive put in thus far. I’m being pushed to play current music and I don’t like it. Please do more lessons like this for us noobs.

It took me bout 9 months to learn to play guitar cause i learn on a borrow guitar from my aunt...only able to use twice a week at her front porch an hour at the time bout 40 yrs later...here i m replying to u...be bless...caiou
Even tomorrow is my General knowledge exam with 8 chapters that i haven't started yet i am learning this song from your tutorial ❤ You're an amazing teacher Thank you 😊
Thank You. As an older beginner with hands that don’t work as good as they once did you have given me hope and motivation. I love your style of teaching and your enthusiasm is infectious.
i still have problems putting the two together, when get of the melody and i have to put my hands that b chord, but it's getting better. i feel some weird obligation to report my progress back to you. slow and steady wins the race
I'm leaning this as my first song and I'm really happy!! I'm almost done just struggling with the C major left hand position. Thank you so much for the lesson!
@@AltGuitarSchool No problem 😁 can you please tutorial romanza I heard it’s pretty easy I can’t really read tabs properly but u guys put in the chords so it made it very easy for me 😁
what you're saying in the introduction is SO true. I have been obsessed with Claire De Lune forever and practiced it a ton despite being a metal guitar player. i ended up buying a classical after yeeears and the most progress i've made is from CDL and Gnossiene... because i just love playing them and never get bored of them
I used to teach guitar. Once you get fundamentals of tuning and holding, plucking and picking, kids are pretty antsy and ready to actually play music. I always start with something simple in EM or Em because of the ease of making those scales incredibly easy for beginners.
Hey Nick - have you tried this one? It’s just a little harder than the Vals but a great study that helped me a lot when I was learning. All the best 🙏 czcams.com/video/cW8thFtT3J0/video.html
Wonderful breakdown. Beautiful instruction. Highly recommended for beginners. What a blessing to find. Thank you so much for introducing this piece and providing such a valuable tutorial. Cheers!
Starting the B-section on "Am" sounds a bit odd to my ear and also I don´t quite agree (yet) with the C-baseline - althougt the parts sounds great when you play them. So I just wish you had played the whole song, in order to sort of make things come together. Might give it another try tomorrow, though. I´m sure it´s a great tune to play, once you get the hang of it.
He definitely should have played the whole piece at the start uninterrupted, so students had a reference to go back to. Or played it at the end. He can play it well, but I don't think this is a great way to teach it. There are plenty of complete versions on CZcams though. He doesn't mention a few key points about this piece.
Theres this classical guitar song im really struggling to find. The most noticeable part of the song, was this evil sounding descending finger plucking riff (I think it was finger plucking), it kinda sounded like devils intervals. I cant find it anywhere. I heard it on classic fm and it really stood out to me. And then after the descending riff ended, it transitioned back to the base of the song. It was like the whole song was based around that descending riff tho, as that part happened a lot during the song.
So gorgeous! ❤ thank you for sharing! On the 2nd day of learning guitar it is a bit complex yet so inspiring indeed 🎼.wonder how it would feel if dancing Argentine tango /neovals / criollo vals to it ...
I learned this in college years ago but forgot part B. Thank you for posting! I'm so glad I found it! Yes, you are 💯 that it's an addictive tune. Now I can finish playing it!
I have only played 6-7 months I love Bartolome Galatayud “Val’s in E minor.” I’m stuck on one spot😢 On the very first fret you use “I &M” fingers to play both 3&2. No strings. And they are B and D both are on the 2ed string. How can we play both notes on same string at same time? I’m sure I am over looking something very simple Thank you
@@AltGuitarSchool i can’t even say I knew those were 2 different things coming from an electric background. learn something new everyday. And great playing!
Could you tell me what size and make of guitar you use please? I know it won't sound the same as when you play it but we all need a goal and it sounds so beautiful!
What a great video! thanks for putting this together, I will be practicing it quite a bit! I have a question about your guitar, what is the scale? Currently I have a 650 scale guitar and I've been thinking about moving to a 630.
Yay. Following the methodology* used in the upload you won't have improved your musicianship or understanding of this piece one iota, but you'll be in the "breakthrough" music club. Don't forget kids, to also swipe your arm along the neck over the strings between every phrase, whilst making soulful grimaces with your face. * Yes kids! well spotted! it IS just like your "Paint By Numbers" set!.
@@AtiTan-gp9xf Maybe not expecting, but what I certainly hoping for might have been a competent guitar lesson. So I'll make my viewpoint clearer. In my view it not a beginner tutorial, nor a music lesson, it's another painful monkey-see, monkey-do set of placement instructions for fingers on a guitar. He does miss many key things about this piece. I don't know how you could learn to play it properly from this. He doesn't even have an uninterrupted version to refer to. It's still a grade 2 piece and requires a certain foundation to play it properly.

Indeed, it provides the necessary confidence in the beginner that he is actually able to do something. so empowering
My first classical piece, that haunting melody is addictive! Thank you
