  • Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted Saturday’s two-goal hero, Josko Gvardiol, was worried he may ‘ruin’ the structure of the treble winners’ team when he signed at the start of the season.
The Croatia international scored twice in City’s 4-0 win at Fulham to notch the first brace of his career and sent Guardiola’s side two points clear at the top of the English Premier League standings with two games to play.
The central defender, who has been playing out of position as an attacking left back, opened the scoring in the 13th minute at Craven Cottage and added a second - his fifth in seven games - by sliding in to meet Bernardo Silva’s cross, making it 3-0 to the visitors.
He was then denied a career-first hat-trick by Julian Alvarez, who scored City’s fourth in the sixth minute of stoppage time from the penalty spot after he was fouled by Issa Diop.
The 22-year-old Gvardiol has made 39 appearances in his debut Premier League season after signing a five-year deal with City in August for a reported £77-million pounds ($96.5-million US dollars).

Imagine a country which is a newborn sovereign state in 1991 and has less than 4 million people could produce "warriors" who excell in football.
