Japan is thedoing so well in world cups .
Japan’s win over SA has to be the moment. For me Japan made me dry watching it. The sheer joy the players and everyone in the crowd (supporting Japan or the Boks) was something else.
Everything in this video was amazing
1. Fiji vs Wales 2007 RWC
2. Tonga vs France 2011 RWC and France still went on to the final.
3. Fiji vs Wallabies scrum 2015 RWC
4. Josua Tuisova's try vs Wales
I watched the Japan v South Africa game in the pub and as it went on everyone got more and more into it. In the end it was like watching England win the world cup. When they scored that try at the end the whole pub went absolutely bananas. Amazing stuff.

Was in a pub in Scotland during the dying stages of the game. Children were thrown in the air when that try was scored
There's one camera angle of that last try where you see all the cops and security guards going bonkers, jumping and screaming their heads off...NONE of them was watching the crowd. Hilarious!

Japan's win for me. Started that match thinking they were going to get destroyed. Ended up 4 years later with half of the country watching the rematch in the world cup. Culture changing.
I watch that match at least once a year.
I still to this day believe that the Japan win was a marketing gimmick for the 2019 word cup. 🤣

That's the one thing about Rugby that always makes me smile. Look quickly the other team arrives to help put the guy back on the ground. The ultimate definition of a game played by gentlemen.

As a Staunch Bok Supporter, I can still remember that Awesome Effort of the '95 RWC Boks. Still feeling that emotions. However The Japanese Victory is still one of the sweetest things ever. Having always been told I wasn't heavy enough my entire life, they proved that with enough guts and determination, anything is possible

it was in 1999 or 2003 and in 1995 the boks were lucky against france with that ref lots of tries refused and bennazi scored at the end of the game just watch it in slow motion, but with mandela new president SA had to win no matter what

As a New Zealander I couldn't stand it when the boks won in 1995. I watched the movie invictus years after the event and the pain of the loss for me is still deep, and I can never watch that movie again.
As a human being I totally can appreciate what winning the world cup for that nation meant at the time, and also in 2019.
But my favorite moment was seeing SA get beaten by Japan.

I was maybe six and remember watching the 2003 World Cup final. My family don’t watch rugby but like football during the big tournaments we watch. Even I could tell when the ball went back to Wilkinson it was a huge moment goosebumps every time I watch thag clip
What's beautiful for the first moment is that players from the other team come and help, because they know the situation is extremely dangerous.
North/Folau for pure comedy value. South Africa’95 is a sentimental moment. But, Japan’s win over RSA is probably my favorite moment. For what it meant to Japan, Asian rugby, international rugby....
I don't think you understand what the 95 moment meant to south Africans, it shaped the country and its the one thing that brings the different cultures together, it's the reason we're the democracy that we are

The brave blossoms beating S.A. is the best moment in world sport. Nothing against the S.Aficans. indeed, total respect and simply emphasizes what a great achievement it was by Japan against one of the great rugby nations.

This is why George North is an absolute Welsh Legend, its such a shame Warburton's time in Rugby was so short lived, a team with veterens like him, North, Alun Wyn, Ken Owens combined with the youth Rees-Zammit, Biggar, Liam Williams, Halaholo and Sheedy, still under a prime Warren Gatland, now thats a team that strikes fear!

I look at the O Driscoll tackle with shame, he was such an amazing player and that was in no way one of his better moments, that's a yellow card, maybe red these days

As a Bok supporter that loss against Japan still hurts. But it is a good hurt. Man it was awesome to see what it did to Japan Rugby.
I watched the England vs Aussie 2003 World Cup game in a pub in Dunedin. There were a few English tourists in there as well and they all felt a little intimidated, thinking we Kiwis would be wanting the Aussies to win. They couldn't believe it when we all started cheering for England. I had to explain to them, Kiwis support two teams, New Zealand, and anyone playing against Australia!
I still don’t get how the Plisson tackle was fair, his head hits the ground first and is driven into it 🤷♂️
i remember being so angry about it, head first, his lower body is way above mid air, fully upside down

I've always enjoyed Julien Dupuy's dummy drop goal spin and score in the last minute against Bath in a cup match, back when Leicester and Bath were both top teams and had a real rivalry going. With a tied game and facing an increasingly difficult drop goal for Sam Vesty or Geordan Murphy to leave Bath with a minute to get the ball back, Bath had the whole team ready to charge out the blocks and charge down the kick, instead Dupuy dummied the pass and ran in behind them to take it under the post, use the rest of the time on the conversion and win the game. czcams.com/video/oVeYwdQAAp0/video.html

Cornwall winning the 1991 County Championship win against Yorkshire should be in a video you make.

@@RugbyEverest Cornwall hadn’t won the championship since 1908. The whole county got behind them. 50,000 Cornish fans vs 1000 Yorkshire fans. Cornwall were down and out with 20 mins to go. A phrase that was used was ‘could the last person leaving Cornwall turn the lights out’. It’s still defines Cornish rugby to this very day.

If you want a better example: I was in the Stade de France in 2007 for England's pool match vs South Africa. We'll not talk about the scoreline :)
About 56 minutes in, Jason Robinson makes a break, and its obvious to everyone in the stadium that he pulls up with a hamstring injury. The South African defenders got to him first, just form a line in front of him, and wait for the English to come and form a ruck over him, and then don't counter-ruck over the top - they do compete, but keeping Robinson under the tunnel between the two sides.

I had a South African colleague who was making jokes and sarcastic comments that it'll be the biggest game ever for the springboks in their pool stage against Japan. After the game I told him he's got special powers of knowing the future. He had no comeback...
To add for the next one:
1. The SA try against England in the 2019 EWC final. Both actually: the first (Mapimpi) because it was _THE FIRST_ and Am's pass was a thing of beauty; the second (Kolbe) because it was just bananas!!
2. Namibia scoring a try against the All Blacks. Yeah, you know the one.
3. The Brian Lima tackle on poor Derek Hougaard.
4. Scotland's comeback against England at Twickenham (I think 2019? Or maybe 2018?)
O'Driscoll's was bad, but shows how hard he was prepared to hit you. You NEVER underestimated him! And George North's lift on that piece of crap biggot, was sensational! Was a metaphor for how we smashed them in that tour!

That O'Driscoll take may have backfired. It spurred the Sprinkboks to come back and win a famous victory from nowhere. He was a beast though.

Lawes tackle was never a question of a yellow card anyway, completely committed, wrapped the arms, hit chest level, everything was legal. Just looked fucking brutal
Also, that Japan game is an outright Sporting moment, not just rugby, the stadium was hugely neutral anyway being as it was in England but by the end even the South African fans where fully onboard with all the celebrations. The Japanese epitomised sporting passion in that game.

Lmao this tackle deserved a red card... Even if it is not intentional by lawes he unfortunately landed the player on the ground head first. For player's safety it should have been penalized. But I understand the fact that if he hasn't been landed on the head the tackle was perfect
In the rules if the tackled guys fall on his head its red card, but never apply when its an english or a wales man...
guaranteed if a French lock had done that to an English 10 = red. Plisson's legs went past the horizontal. and he landed head first, as others have said. So yes you are right, it was never a question of a yellow card, it was a clear red. Actually could have ended very badly for Plisson with a neck injury.
Honestly ? The first one, when the first 2 players from the opposing team first help him to put Brestler back on his feet w/o him getting injured, THEN contest the ball. That's rugby for me.

O'Driscal is lucky the modern laws weren't in effect. That would've been a red card for head on head contact. That moment was a real lift for the Lions.

Whenever an islander team looks like they've touched the head or neck of another player, especially the protected top5 national "teams"...they get yellow or red carded. But when the top tier national teams do it, they never get penalised and the refs and video bunker always seem to clear it as good.🤦🏾♂️

The moment that stood out for me as a Saffer, was when we were united as a nation port 94 by winning the 95 RWC. Bitter sweet, as ‘till today sport is used to both unite and divide this country. The rainbow nation is a lie that’s been sold to the world.

My favourite ever moment was when Ireland beat France in over time by one point by johnny sexton in the grandslam
Agreed. 41 phases with the clock in the red, one single mistake would cost them the game, and they almost made it too with the little chip through at around the 20th phase. An absolutely perfect Irish attack and an almost completely perfect French defence. It was like watching an unstoppable force crash against an immovable object.
Definitely one of the craziest finish for a rugby match !
