- This video is about how you can invest in a cassava farm with Greenhills Cassava Farmstead. I show how you can invest in agriculture in Nigeria.
Lanre Osifeso, CEO/MD of Greenhills Cassava farmstead, has 10,000 hectares/ 24,710 acres ready for investment. You can purchase farmland from the comfort of your home in the diaspora and have Greenhills clear your farmland, manage the day-to-day, plant, and harvest. You can monitor everything going on your farmland from their app.
I visited this massive farm in Olorunsogo, Mowe/Ofada, Ogun State. It was so inspiring to see this project come to life. Seeing is believing for real!

What if I want to own the farm and farm something different is that possible. What about Fulani killers herdsmen too.
I just saw this comment, no it's not possible to farm something different. And Lanre takes security for the farmers' very seriously.
Aside from this price, is there any additional payment?
Can I start as low as 100k or 150k
I've made some payment to this company on the basis of this video and that of @sassy funke. I'm beginning to think that I've been SCAMMED by this company.

What I love about yoruba and hausa business men; they are very polished n dont shout on the roof tops about their business pursuits. They just do their thing. I know the Osifeso family from Ijebu-ode :)
@sweetspice. Because empty barrels make the loudest noise. Yoruba and Hausa business men do not need to shout, their work speaks for them
this is amazing. I live in Italy. I'm gonna get the hectare and if it goes well I'll get more. I'm gonna call my brother to visit them and confirm their credibility and recognition by the government of the state. I've been looking for opportunities like this. thanks, iveoma.
Glad to hear it!
Can you plz update & feedback on here, if this is genuine and the family actually own the land?
The interviewer asked very important question and the owner of the project shy away from it answering, and that was a big concern in this case!
The question was, why should diasporans trust you with their money? He replied am not the one taking their money! Who are we going or buying the land from then? Because it sound like disclaiming already!

I wonder why no comment from iv
I'm familiar with something similar in Abeokuta via Taiwo Orishayomi. Coincidentally Greenhills is located in the same area Mowe Ofada that Eden Oasis Real Estate recently branched to promote a modest estate of newly built bungalows.
This is an interesting initiative & the gentleman seems intelligent & serious. I'm also impressed with his natural complexion.😏
Hello Iveoma,
I have been following your channel in the last couple of years, and I think your contents have been awesome and very inspiring. Thank you very much for presenting Nigeria in the light of the vast opportunities and challenges in the country.
I feel very obliged to inform you and your subscribers of my recent discovery just last week concerning GREENHILLS CASSAVA FARMSTEAD. The company is a scam. I bought 4 acres in their phase 2, Ihunbo town. The contract was duly negotiated and just before payment, I insisted on carrying out due diligence which was OK by them. I requested for a soft copy of the documents and gave it to my lawyer for scrutiny, in addition I hired a surveyor to go with them for physical inspection and to take the actual coordinate of the estate for verification in the Lands department.
The documents sent me was legally okay by my lawyer. The great shock was discovered at the Ogun state department of Lands and survey by my surveyor. When they ran a check on the Farmland, it was confirmed that the land is COMMITTED and UNDER ACQUISITION by Ogun state government.
Meaning........ it's a government land and it doesn't belong to GREENHILLS CASSAVA FARMSTEAD. Yet GREENHILLS is selling the farmlands to different investors, thereby wilfully defrauding unsuspecting Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.
Greenhills Cassava Farmstead documents to the farmlands is a legal forgery.
I pulled out of the contract with them, I informed the company and they never wrote back again. The GREENHILLS CASSAVA FARMSTEAD MD called my surveyor and said he didn't know that the land was committed and would investigate.
Greenhills is still very active on their social media pages carrying out marketing activities with the aim of defrauding people, knowing fully well that the scheme is a FRAUD.
Dear Iveoma, they also deceived you, so that they can use you to get your followers in the diaspora. Even though you saw the operations on the ground, during your visit and physical inspection to their farm...... they deceived you. Next time, get a surveyor and don't even trust a coordinate from them and make sure you go to the government land department for proper check.
Guys, PLEASE RUN AWAY FROM GREENHILLS CASSAVA FARMSTEAD FOR YOUR OWN GOOD IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!
YOU HAVE ALL BE WARNED.
Iveoma is well endowed, i like. Nice farm.
I actually burst out laughing. There is no comment I won’t see in my comment section 😂

It's funny too.
I'm totally sold. I've been considering the best investment.
hahahahhaha, well I was too immediately BUT for every investment, you must do your own due diligence ooo. Make sure to contact them directly and research Greenhills Cassava Farmstead on your own too.
Great video my sister, I'm most definitely interested in investing. I just have to do a little more homework first. ✌🏾
Yesss I love to hear it! Do your own research and vet this opportunity well well.
Have you invested yet?
Am close to starting up my business in Nigeria and stay home.
Please after purchase of the land for cassava do you pay them extra to plant the cassava or what other payment do you need to make?
This was very informative
Can I get a contact with you please farming is what I want to invest in
Please when you buy an hectare do you own the land automatically of after some years they will take the land back from you?
Is the payment per hecter for one farming season or for the land
@Iveoma Media have you invested with Greenhouse?
👏🏾👏🏾Thank you for doing such a superb follow up video Iveoma! I was waiting for this before I reached out to the company. I’ve been reading through the comments to see what other information I can gather. I’m strongly considering it. Have questions re: transfer of land upon death to beneficiaries? I would think that would be included in the paperwork however, don’t want to assume.
Are you planning (or have you invested?)
Thank you 🙏🏾 Great question, definitely Reach out directly to Greenhills to ask about legal issues after death. Yup @ planning to invest, it’s a good opportunity and for now not too expensive.
greenhillsfarmstead.com/
Hi I’ve reached to the company and the price of one hectare is much more than the price quoted here, as in close to a $1000! Plus 700 thousand Naira statutory fees. I will love to buy into this but the disparity in price is putting me off especially the sudden price difference in land acquisition
Hi Iveoma, I was so excited when I saw this and I am seriously considering it ,but my question is would the farming of Cassava be for life? what happens to the soil after a few years? just wondering
I will ask Greenhills about what happens to the soil or how they preserve soil integrity.
@@IveomaMedia Many thanks, I will love to know. Goodness you are on the ball!
This is the answer from Greenshills, “To maintain the soil we would do a crop rotation with soya beans. After every 2-3 years.”
@@IveomaMedia Now that makes sense . Legumes will help the soil, they need to explain that ,Iveoma. At times, you need to leave land to fallow too.
How many tons of cassava per hectare of land and how much per ton of cassava?
Hello Iveoma, from the very 1st time I watched your video, I subscribe straightaway and I have watched all the videos you upload. Great contents, good quality, awesome presentation and due diligence on every issues.
Thank you very much for your beautiful work and you are well appreciated 👍🏽
This farmstead investment seems very promising. Please for those who want to pay on installment, what is the maximum time duration allowed and ofcourse interest rates if any?
Kind regards 🙏🏽
Awww Thank you my dear. Yay @ subscribed gateway!! You can pay 50% upfront, then remaining 50% is spread within 3 months. So total is 4 months (max time).
Thank you very much for your quick response to my question 🙏🏽
Ummm!!! Once I thought I found a good investment in Nigeria but I am confused. There are the so called statutory fees and amongst them is the developmental fees. But on a farm? What is being developed? Please advise me!!
Can I decide to sell my land if possible in the future?
Do your due diligence. Your video has promoted this and you have put your reputation on the line as a trusted source. Before you buy
1) Get an independent solicitor that specializes in farm land purchase.
2) Understand the local history of Mowe especially Oba and security
3) Based on what I heard you are actually investing not buying land so be very careful what you are throwing your money into. The guy said you have no say in what is planted and you also will not be doing the farming.
4) Ask for which institutional organisation he is registered with to deal with disputes.
5) Be very very careful. You are better buying produce from him and reselling or processing for 2 to 3 years before venturing into investing in this project
Remember people once you part with your money thats it. Love Yoruba man in UK
Thanks for the guide,
Since the amount paid is for purchasing the land,.will there be another charges for managing it and will the returns be on the amount you paid for land.
Answer from Greenhills, "So for one acre, they would get approximately ₦168,000. However, cassava is a commodity so the price fluctuates, so how much they get is determined by how much cassava is selling for at the time of harvest.
They could get so much more depending on that, we take 30% management fee from the proceeds and 70% goes to the investor. The ₦168,000 is calculated. Using a base case scenario that cassava will sell for ₦20k and 30 tons will be gotten from a hectare. But right now cassava is selling for ₦60k. "
So the charges for managing the land come from harvest proceeds.
How can I get a contact for this guy?
What if you are not from Nigeria and still want to invest in the cassava business?
Can anyone confirm the validity ? I def want to invest
Great video! it will be good to get an idea of how much ROI someone with say 1 care of land can get in 10 months. I know they mentioned 15-18% but in monetary terms and from their experience, is that 15%-18% every 10months roughly about 100k, 200k etc. Would be helpful to put the returns into context!
Great point! I will ask Greenhills to answer this question.
@@IveomaMedia that's a very good question
This is from Greenhills, "So for one acre, they would get approximately ₦168,000. However, cassava is a commodity so the price fluctuates, so how much they get is determined by how much cassava is selling for at the time of harvest.

@@IveomaMedia Ok great! makes sense, thanks for the speedy response! Iveoma for president 2023, lol!
@@IveomaMedia are you saying that out of the 168,000 naira 30% will goes to the company or is the 168k only for the investors?
Can the land be used to plant other crops? Im concerned that planting only cassava would damage the soil, so what's the plan after that?
Answer from Greenhills, “To maintain the soil we would do a crop rotation with soya beans. After every 2-3 years.” Also know you can email Greenhills directly and ask questions, they are pretty responsive.
O.pat
Shalom, great idea, what if want to produce another crop?
R their any flood zones?r their any insects that might affect your crops?. R. U insured.
Answer by Greenhills, "Arable crops, preferably cassava. No insects because of dynamic team that manages the farm. Yes they are insured by Leadway Assurance"
@Iveoma- I'm curious as to what their other fees like management, harvesting, etc.. are. Do you know?
So it's a 70:30 Split. So 70% of the proceeds of the land go to the land owner, 30% goes to Greenhills. So out of the 30% is what covers the fees that you outlined above. I should have put this information in the video, apologies.
@@IveomaMedia please kindly share more light on this 🙏 70% of the profit goes to the owner at the end of every 10 months of harvest or what?
I think you are looking for more information on the process. This answer is from Greenhills, "So for one acre, they would get approximately ₦168,000. However, cassava is a commodity so the price fluctuates, so how much they get is determined by how much cassava is selling for at the time of harvest.

Remember Prince, you can contact Greenhills Cassava Farmstead directly for questions too. Here is the website, greenhillsfarmstead.com/
@@IveomaMedia - That makes sense- I'll follow up on their website. Thank you.
whose responsibility is it to register the provisional survey with the land registry in the investors name? ours or the company? How much would cultivation cost per plot, per acre or per hectare?
Great question @ responsibility. I can ask Greenhills. 2nd part of your question, I don’t know if they are going to break down price of cultivation per plot BUT if you want to know how much you will get every 10 months, “This is from Greenhills, "So for one acre, they would get approximately ₦168,000. However, cassava is a commodity so the price fluctuates, so how much they get is determined by how much cassava is selling for at the time of harvest.

If you have any further questions reach out directly to Greenhills. They are very responsive via email or phone call.
Answer from Greenhills, “ company is responsible for registering.”
So, how do you deal with the farm destruction by Fulani herdsmen?
You noticed how nobody is asking such fundamental question!
@@MrRoyck10 @Ola Petri Ade. I guess both of you guys missed the part where she said the farm is insured and also put the insurance name on the video? Security is part of insurance just like when your car is stolen, you claim insurance for car theft
This girl is eating good food, looking very strong and sharp,I can remember when she came back from UK very fat because of donut 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩 and like of red oil
I just cackled! I did move back from the US very fat. I am eating much much better now. I was a sugar addict before now I am not LOL
@@IveomaMedia - I am a serious sugar addict too. Nigerian/African food is far healthier than standard American food. I'm working hard to break my sugar addiction.
Which locations in Ogun state is this if I may ask
Olorunsogo, Mowe/Ofada, Ogun State
Is the land only zoned for farming?
How many minutes to ikeja ?
Can we buy from America?
Is it safe to purchase?
1. It's farmland only for farming cassava.
2. It took us atleast 2.5 hours to get to the farm from Ikeja.
3. Yes you can buy from America.
4. The safe factor is for you to find out, every investment requires due diligence from the investor. You determine the risk level you are willing to take on any investment. Your investment is back by Leadway Assurance (big time insurance company) BUT you need to look into what the policy covers too.
Thks
I am a bit concerned with the entry cost of this project. At N2.2m entry, how much is the company going to pay to buy back the cassava? How many tons of cassava will be produced per hectare? We hardly get a yield of 1.5 tons per hectare, even though the Zimbabwean farmers in Kwara do get up to 40 tons. Cassava is currently at N100,000 per ton (it has been as low as N5,000 in the GEJ years), and the pricing is very seasonal and subject to wide variations. Even if the company pays N100,000 per ton, it has to take a production of at least 40 tons per hectare for the project to be viable after the 12-months cycle. It would be good to know.
I left contact information for Greenhills in the description box under this video. Call them and ask your questions that you typed out here. They are very responsive.
Please is the 15-18% ROI every month or in 10 months?
Every 10 months, after harvest
So I will pay my money and waiting for 10 months plan to pay me without insurance I will show you land and show in satellite and activities going on in your farm. Who is your insurance??
What about those who already own land, can he farm & manage it?
Interesting question! I don’t know if the company manages other farms outside of this space. I can ask
@@IveomaMedia Please do, thanks.
To spend that amount of money renting equipments on daily basis will not be a viable investment for me. As a business person, at least it would have been better for to buy used equipments and that will be a lot of savings! Those daily payments come buy at least one used dozer.
The concept is a very innovative one but needs a little bit of cost saving ideas.
GUIDELINES
If I bought the farm? Do I have to sell the farm produce to you?
Answer from Greenhills, "Not necessarily. It is just advisable because of proximity. Cassava has a short shelf life when it has been harvested."
Hope there won't be omoonile problems
Very, very uncommon in Ogun State!
What is the app name for the investment??
So head to greenhillsfarmstead.com/
Iveoma, can you farm?
Can you?

So for one acre, they would get approximately ₦168,000. However, cassava is a commodity so the price fluctuates, so how much they get is determined by how much cassava is selling for at the time of harvest.

How much is that cost in USD
How much is what? Also at the end of the video, I put all the prices in USD and £ as I go through each package
₦440,000 (3 plots) = $1,152 = £838
₦882,000 (1 acre) =$2,310= £1,681

I look at everyone I interview in the face... such a silly comment. Lol
Hi. She has lived in the US, and here people look people in the eyes when they speak to them. It's not our culture so it might look like there is more going on. I'm from Nigeria and have lived in the US for so many years, and I still find it hard to look people in the eyes because I was raised in Nigeria.
