    I love that Diana did not put upper cabinets on both sides front to back. Her van looks open and spacious. So many van builds look like people live in a hall with no upper space. Her build is awesome!!

    Sweet van build. I love your style of interviewing. Being quiet while they explain their build. Kind & considerate questions...NICE! Very enjoyable.

    She and her brother did a great job on the van! It doesn’t have enough space for me, but it’s not my van😊 so it doesn’t need to fit my needs! Safe travels 🌻

      Joni’s RV Journey I researched endlessly and really wanted a new Nissan....then I went to a dealer....its sooo small!!!!! Thanks for vid, like you said it works for her. I find that sometimes videos are very unintentionally misleading when it comes to space. I’d seen several Nissan Envy van tours... the space looked so much bigger ....

      @@zorazorazorzzora8333 Keep in mind that empty spaces always look smaller than spaces with furniture. Diana's van doesn't live small at all. If at all possible, get yourself inside as many built out vans as you can before you decide.

    Cool! Here in Europe the Nissan NV van series is significantly larger then the Nissan NV's in the States, I'm not sure what the reasoning was for that decision. Still great to see how Diana set it up and I love the stainless steel she used for her electric control center, it lookes polished and professional. :)
    Edit: also kick ass that she paid her brother for his time, I really respect that. What a great sister!

    Great use of space! I like the 'keep the cabinets low' theory, it works. I'd try to find another place for the Lagun table so I wouldn't have to move it. Thanks you two!

    She should try some child proof cabinet latches - the bungee cords spoil the look, and its a shame since it is such a nice build, very elegant.

    Beautiful build, it feels light and open not a ton of cabinets up top, however, you showed that cabinet at the end so I went back and looked at the space... don’t know that I like that cabinet but a girls gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.... I wanted to see more of beach theme...
    Also saw you on Bob’s channel
    Diana, what did you insulate your van with?

    • @dianahollenbeck9986
      @dianahollenbeck9986 Před 4 lety +1

      1 - 1.5" polyiso on ceiling between ribs and upper part of walls. Wool batting is in all the lower areas and around the polyiso. We used reflextic as a vapor barrier over all walls, ceiling, and floor. Probably overkill...lol, but my van is about 10° warmer than outdoor temp and 15-20° cooler. I rarely need heat. I have a Buddy Heater which I don't care for because of propane. Hope that helps.

    • @dianahollenbeck9986

      As for the back cabinet, I went back and forth a million times before adding. I actually love it and love not having dog food, etc in the sink for traveling.

    I love your van Diana! I'm glad I finally got a tour via TheGalavan. I need to borrow your brother (and maybe your solar guy too.) How do you get Ikea cabinets to fit? Do you cut them after ordering? And I still want your bed set up.

    • @dianahollenbeck9986
      @dianahollenbeck9986 Před 4 lety

      Sorry, but my brother said he's retired from van building. Lol The cabinets that were cut down were then assembled with a Kreg Tool. My solar guy is Miles with LightHarvest Solar in Portland, OR. They are great!

      @dianahollenbeck9986 Před 4 lety

    Looks nice van but no way $20,000 spent to build it out and they did all the labor. You should have had her clarify that.

    • @aldo9564
      @aldo9564 Před 4 lety

      Boston Straight Pride .... agreed. It’s a very nice space, and if she loves it, Great ! But I don’t know how that math worked out, unless she simply paid Top Dollar for everything w/ no shopping around. IKEA we all know is cheap. Solar can get Very Expensive on steep learning curve.
      Regardless, nice van and Congrats on “doing You”.

    • @dianahollenbeck9986
      @dianahollenbeck9986 Před 4 lety +3

      Yes, you are correct that my brother and I did all the labor. I paid him for his time. Solar is very expensive when using lithium batteries, etc.

    • @bostonstraightpride7223
      @bostonstraightpride7223 Před 4 lety

      @@dianahollenbeck9986 2 Lithion 100AH battery's are app $1700, Solar panel's about $500 for the size of your roof, a 2000 watt inverter is app $300, a Charge controller is app $200 Cable,wire outlets and hardware $150. Install 10 hours $500 total $3350 I am a lic installer in Boston Ma. So your build at $20,000 - $3350 = $16,500 for an IKEA interior build. Please clarify what cost $16,500
