I just read a comment that baffles me. I normally don’t pay attention to negative comments but this comment makes no sense to me. I’m sure others will agree that we love Bordeaux Life not only because of Edd and Anna and Charles and Emma….we love the idea of RESTORING old things. And that’s exactly why Edd and Anna bought this latest restoration property and why they bought those beautiful chairs.
And let me take this one step further. I live in the United States and I can tell you we tear buildings down that we shouldn’t and we throw old things away. I would not put us at the top of the list when it comes to Recycling and saving the planet earth. Kudos to the Europeans who take pride in their history !
Where would we be if we threw away every beautiful piece of furniture that exists in Europe? Where would we be if we tore down every old building?
Bravo to Bordeaux Life. Edd and Anna are wonderful genuine people but they are also very smart. And you just wait….those chairs are going to be beautiful and so will the “ruin” ! And because we are dealing with smart experienced restorers I guarantee Edd and Anna will not lose money in the process.

I haven't seen that comment but I can't believe that anyone would complain about restoring those large chairs. We had a set of old chairs that had there upholstery and finish completely re-done and they came out looking so amazing. It felt so good sitting in them after that. Better than new, and in the same style.

As an antique furniture restorer for fifty years before I retired I always enjoy your trips to the antique market. I was right about the price Anna paid for the sofa and chair set. I feel that it will need a complete break down and re-glue for it to be solid again. Looking forward to seeing it repaired and reupholstered.

Haha! Love how you told nit-picky armchair renovators to take a hike! Love the beautiful iron door! It’s going to add so much character to the building! Curious, why do some people hang curtains in front of those doors? Bummer about the beams and lost time and materials but the place is looking amazing already!

I'm seriously impressed by how quickly this house is transforming!! Amazing work. When you first toured it i couldn't fathom how this was anything but a tear down.
Thats how I felt. I think I called it the "sh!t hole" or something like that because I couldn't see beyond what it was when Ed bought it. I don't get to see every video they upload but prior to this one I saw one with the roof totally open to the elements snd so this was quite a transformation.
One thing I still don't understand is when they walk in the front door because they appear to walk in, midway between two levels and then go down before coming back up again. I'm hoping once it's at the lighting snd decorating stage that my poor confused brain wakes itself up.,

I have to say that the behind the lorry view was a nice change of perspective! Everyone always shows front view. The door.....love it, just so cool. As for the negative Nellies and criticizing Karens...just let them comment and push the algorithm for ya. The rest of us will be here excitedly watching the progress.
I will fully admit I couldn't see any of this at first. Video just doesn't give us a true perspective and view but having watched your other videos I have faith in your processes. Your results speak for themselves. ❤ Just ignore the negaitve comments and "Crack On!" Yours is one of the few Chateau/DIY channels I haven't gotten tired or bored with. Between you two, Pethericks and Dan I get to watch some of the hardest working, and most genuine people in the Château realm. ❤ For you all and give the puppers some scratches!

Rénovation vraiment SUPERBE 🤩 et j'ai hâte de voir la suite. le rejointoiement des pierres par Louis et Cyril c'est magnifique 🤩. Le toit prend forme vivement les tuiles posées. La maison sera vraiment bien consolidée avec les IPN (poutres en acier) ça va permettre la pose d'un nouveau plancher très solide. Quelle belle trouvaille cette porte d'entrée c'était vraiment la porte qu'il vous fallait 👍 On pensera qu'elle s'est toujours trouvée là.
Surtout n'écoutez pas les donneurs de leçons, envieux, les personnes qui se permettent ce genre de réflexions devraient tourner 7 fois leurs langues dans leurs bouches (comme on dit en France) avant de sortir de telles bêtises...

Renovating in a small congested area has to be extremely difficult but it is being done much to my amazement. Such an improvement of your building reflects on the property value of the entire street which is certainly to your credit. Am sure the entire town and residents are following your progress and realize possibilities for other establishments and residents in the area can benefit.

The steel beams are great for the lower floor doors. As soon as you spoke of them, I imagined wide glass doors allowing as much light as possible.
At least you know it is structurally sound now.😊

Its also opposite, I totally agree if someone is just nit picking as you say and are wrong then they are following the wrong channel, but its good that people can help from time to time, I have been a photographer for over 50 years and I am still learning and always welcome peoples critic and help, there is always room for ideas and learning.
