As soon as tie fighters went to attack the slave 1 I already knew what was gonna happen and I am pleased
Same here.
I knew it was coming too but was still excited when it did.
Same here, but the fact that it actually happened that blew up my mind
Before seeing this episode I was hoping this would be featured and my god it was and it was glorious
I was hoping for the slave 1 to fire those badass sounding guns
Practically everyone the moment Boba dropped that charge: “DROP DAH BASS, BABY!!!!”
"Fresh"
I remember hearing the original one for the first time in theaters. There truly was nothing like it. Absolute silence followed by that epic blast. So cool!
That glorious moment of silence ... ("Huh, for a seismic charge, that seemed kinda lame") ... before the actual BWOOOOOOOM ("omg").
Nothing will ever top the original in my opinion. I was born in 84. Parents recorded the originals on VHS for me to watch. THIS is the one scene and sound that will ALWAYS stand out.
They RUINED it in the Mandalorian. They did a double sound where there wasn't a reason to do one. I love and adore everything about the Mando with the exception of this one sound.
I loved how the seismic charges sounded in the cinema, it was like all the sound got sucked out of the theatre
I wish I could see the prequels in theatres...
All I got to see was the Phantom Menace re-release in 3D in 2011.
@@GeoBrixy I can say all 3 films were amazing in theaters. I was born in 92, raised on the original trilogy (Special Edition gold box set) and played with the Power of the Force figures. I distinctly remember asking my Dad if they were ever going to make a new Star Wars movie (this had to have been 97'- 98'. Then all of a sudden there is marketing and commercials for Episode 1. I was ecstatic, especially when episode 2 rolled around and I saw there was a new bounty hunter that looked like Boba Fett (my thought process at the time). Boba Fett has always been my #1 favorite character though, and this show has enhanced that ten-fold.
@@TYSniper I had a similar experience. Born 1990, watched the originals growing up and then finding out a new series was round the corner. I still remember coming home from watching the Phantom Menace in the cinema humming the Duel of Fates. The podracing and the lightsaber choreography was phenomenal. I wanted to live on Naboo haha
@@ealing456 Oh man, that's awesome! Yeah the podracing was my favorite from Phantom Menace, along with the battle droids and Maul's double-bladed lightsaber. It was quite a change from the original trilogy, but it felt so alive. Still does.
@@TYSniper yeah, there's a lot to love in TPM even today. I'm more ambivalent about the other two prequels, though still find them entertaining.
The CGI had some bad moments in the prequels, but damn they really nailed it back in the 2000s
Yep, CGI and dialogue wasn’t the best, but they killed it on the sound design
@@tanner5809 It was the best for its time, this scenes visuals hold up brilliantly even today, and lets not compile all the prequels as being the same, revenge of the sith is where the CGI was perfected and has virtually no issues, revenge of the sith has better CGI than most movies today.
@@hyperrunner8531 This man gets it
CGI was state of the art in PT when these movies were released. VFX were nominated for the Oscar. They were done by ILM. Same company that worked on everything Star wars.
@@tanner5809 CGI was the literally the best that was possible back then. Star wars always has the best VFX possible. PT VFX were nominated for the Oskar.
seismic charge: *exists*
everyone: more more more more
No cap
My theory on why they sound slightly different is that Boba used his in atmosphere.
Wouldn't make a difference considering sound can't travel through space as there's no air. It's just a ret-con.
Or sound quality is better nowadays
I thought the one in atmosphere seemed a bit less powerful because of the atmospheric resistance. Makes sense.
I thought about this, but more so in the context of why the initial explosions LOOK slightly different. The one in deep space from the prequels is more orb-like and confined and the one in the stratosphere is more gaseous and chaotic. More/less pressure depending on where they explode, so they wouldn't look the same. I didn't really notice a difference in sound, but that would be a logical assumption too. Though I like to think of Star Wars' space different than ours, because in Star Wars you hear everything in space throughout all of canon, so I don't believe that they would alter the audio like that for something so random and specific here.
@@Doncroft1 I don’t think the atmospheric resistance would be more difficult to cut through than multiple huge ass asteroids with a single explosions. The expansion is also considerably smaller in the Mandalorian. If you take into account how much distance Obi Wan crosses and how far each wave keeps up with him, the explosions in atmosphere were way smaller, I don’t think atmospheric pressure would have that big of an effect.
Thank god this episode didn’t get released in November 😏
Ha
why??

Not gonna lie when I saw the Slave1 show up in the last episode I had butterflies in my stomach and was more so happy to see it than I did when the millennium falcon showed up in films, like I honestly believe this is better than the falcon
Yeah the falcon is a heavily modified freighter, the slave 1 was a prototype assault gunship
From my understanding the only thing the Falcon truly outclasses the Slave-1 in is light speed travel.
@@grantsaldivar and the pilot my guy
Well I love Slave 1 but come on the Falcon is the best in entirety of space film. Everything about it is iconic
Eh I prefer the Ebon Hawk but that ship is still up there

Only thing different in explosion radius is that Jango bomb was in space and Boba was in planets atmosphere.
I think Boba set it to a lower yield to avoid collateral damage that could kill Fennec and Cara since they're on the ground below the TIEs.
Yeah

I like that finally we see some Prequel references, not only Originals
OT, Prequels, freaking LEGENDS. The Mandalorian is full of fan-service!
We've seen Tython, which in Legends was the planet where the Jedi Order was founded. Well, the Jed'aii Order which would eventually become the Jedi Order.
The pearl harvested from the Krayt Dragon is a reference to Knights of the Old Republic, where the pearl was a reward for killing a Krayt Dragon.
The droids Mando and Ahsoka fought were HK-87 droids, HK-47 is one of the most famous Assassin Droids in Legends.
Beskar being lightsaber-resistant was one of the traits that made it so valuable in Legends and now it's canon.
Operation: Cinder is from a canceled Star Wars game and was never fully expanded on until now.
Translating the gene-sequence on Boba's armor from Mando'a (the Mandalorian language) reveals that Jango was a Foundling adopted by a name that starts with "Jaste", most likely referring to Jaster Mereel, who was Jango's mentor in Legends.

Young Boba's cheeky laugh just makes it more satisfying
"SIESMIC CHARGES, IN ATMOSPHERE?!" *Halo reach music starts playing*
never watched star wars as a kid, but my biggest regret was not being able to see this scene in the cinemas. imagine how loud and boombing the speakers would have been
Pretty powerful, i remind
They're so similar, they did so well. You can even pretend the small difference in explosions is because of the atmosphere they're exploding in. One is in deep space and one is in a planets stratosphere. So badass.
I remember the first time hearing that seismic charge in the theater and it shook the absolute hell out of the room.
The ultimate bass drop
Always loved that sound effect
Most beautiful sound in all of Star Wars.
I could watch these forever. Literally the coolest thing ever😂
Them: you can’t hear a picture
Me: BULLSHIT YOU CANT!
I could heard this sound in my head since the very first time I saw bobas ship back on this show, they never disappoint us, the attention to details with the classics are amazing, not to mention when Boba replied to Mando "I am just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe", those were the same exact words Jango told Obi Wan back on Kamino.
This was definitely fan service done right, although I think it sounded a lil better in aotc
I think the explosions in Aotc from the charges were bigger, and there wasn't to much other sound in space
I think Boba/Jango were able to change how powerful the charges were, as the one in Mando Looks allot smaller to me.
@@commanderpondscc-4112 maybe also because there's air resistance in mando.
It’s that delay between detonation and the sound that makes it feel big and powerful. You instinctively know from thunderstorms and other things like fireworks, explosions, volcanoes that you see large bangs first at a distance and the sound travels slower but is big enough to make the distance. Anything you can hear delayed from a distance must be a big explosion. The sound designers payed attention to physics and human psychology. (And went for the emotion for the film and took a small liberty in the physics of sound/shockwaves in space. But a plasma field/shockwave of pure energy could at least explain the seismic effect of the asteroids getting pulverised)
This and the M1 Garand ping are the only sounds that make me bust instantly
Man, hearing the sound effect with high quality headphones made to boost sound effects is a entirely different entity
I've cheered when I saw it even though I knew it's gonna happen
My reaction seeing seismic charge in action since Ep2: "Whooohhh!!! Yeah baby, that's what I'm talking about!!! Whoooooohhh!!!"
Gj putting that video pop up at the best second really does increase the quality of the video.
The two scenes combined in the end...*chef's kiss*

This is by far one of the best explosion sound effects ever
When I was younger I was up late in my basement watching attack of the clones. I realized during the silence before the charge that my volume was up too high. Rip
I bet Boba was like, "For you, Dad.".
BLAST, THIS IS WHY I HATE FLYING!!
It is truly an eargasm hearing that sound
So cool. Wasn't the biggest fan of the series, but to me this was the best throwback scene!
That seismic charge sounds like me testing out my stadium bass speakers
Great video
This is so absolutely amazing - I'd still think that it would have been even cooler with the fighters crushing against the seismic field and 5-8 instead of 2
I was a kid when the prequels came out and let me tell ya. That fight scene in space between jango and obi-wan blew my mind. Especially that part at 00:35 was so cool to watch

Me watching AOTC: cool
Me watching Mando: •O• *rewinds*
I prefer the darker blue of the prequels but man did they nailed this scene
Who else lost their fucking minds?
"YESSS!! SIESMIC CHARRGE! YEHESSS!!"
The silence right before it is amazing
“The armor was my fathers”
“Don’t you mean your donor?”
*Prepares seismic charge*
When I first heard the seismic charge in Clone Wars I immediately thought that was the coolest sound
I love how the implosion is is silent then the Explosion is one of the best sounds
This is the way
Badass
The one from episode two sounded so much cooler. They dimmed it down in mando. Not sure why but I would love to see more of those
Such a cool sound
In french, the dubbing said "Charge Sonique".. so as a child, knowing that there could not be any sounds in space, i thought this device was actually designed to "force" the production of sound in space, resulting in this devastating wave
I like that the Imperials can take a hint
What a beautiful sound
I never realized how much hang time jango’s seismic charge had
That sound tho..... Like an eargasm in the force
Omg those are memories
Mark Hamill: Oh, I am my daddy!
Temuera Morrison: You too?
This gives me joy
I like to think Boba was saying “Hehehe” in his head when dropping that seismic charge in The Mandalorian
The best sound from any movie
"dad why is my name Rose"
"because your mother loves the Rose flower"
"okay thanks dad"
"no worries, bwaaaaaaaam"
such a satisfying sound
The sound itself is great, but it's only as good as it is because of the anticipation generated from that writhing first explosion
This is my notification sound on my phone
